Pablo Picasso, Pablo Escobar, and Saint Paul/San Pablo each had a significant impact on the world. However, one probably wouldn’t associate them with each other. Though those three figures don’t have much in common, West felt they each represented some aspect of The Life of Pablo.(His own Life)
which/one
@@ethannhuntt all of them.
I feel like Pablo when I'm workin' on my shoes
I feel like Pablo when I see me on the news
I feel like Pablo when I'm workin' on my house
All of these Pablos had an interesting life. Meaning people are fascinated with their whole life, not just one single thing that they did. And even though this album has some perverted language, he probably knew he was about to change his ways and seek for God like Saint Paul did
Kanye said that it was Saint Paul on Twitter but it can be applied to all of them
@@odesreis6712 I think he referenced the album cover where it says “which/one” to make Kanye choose between the fame or fam life.
TLOP was a grower for me. When it came out it had some bangers but it didn't seem cohesive on first listen. It was only with time that the themes really started to take shape, and one particular acid trip changed my entire perspective. The album deeply resonated with me as someone who struggles with the incongruence between the spiritual and material inclinations that I have, and I think Kanye really captures that duality well on this album. In order to spot this though I think you need to look beyond the lyrics and listen to the production choices. For example, in Father Stretch my Hands and Pt 2., he's crying out the same message "I just wanna feel liberated", but the Panda sample "I got broads in Atlanta, twistin' dope, lean..." is such a heavy contrast. And as listeners we really only hear that amazing Panda beat and Desiigners lyrics, but without the "I just wanna feel liberated" the song doesn't have that same punch. It's almost like Kanye at that point couldn't exist without allowing both sides of him to flourish, but at the same time he knew there was a constant struggle between the two going on inside him, almost as if one couldn't exist wholly in the other's presence, and he had to make a choice between the two otherwise he would explode. Fast forward to 2021 and it looks like he's made that choice, and that's a different matter. But I love that Kanye is so defiantly and transparently himself that he can never make the mistake of coming across as something that he's not, and in that lies his authenticity and truth - and it's that truth that he expresses on this album that has made it my personal favourite of his

Damn some of you really be writing essays on yt😂
drop the doi, I gotta cite this
This is crazy I really be analyzing or attempt to listen to his production in his music and how his lyrics connect to it like the beat is also telling a story if that makes sense
Amazing analysis
The Life Of Pablo is all about duality and choice, that's why the cover presents itself with a photo of a family in a wedding contrasted with a model showing her ass, "WHICH ONE" is Kanye having to make a decission about which of these two lifestyes he's going to pick, and the tracklist is a walkthrough of what happens when he chooses between family and God or fame and lust. It is my Number 1 album of all time.
Terrific reaction, Yeezus next!
Even the sounds. Switching between a nostalgic showcase from a choir at church and a Prime Chicago house party. WHICH / ONE
Probably the most underrated concept in a kanye album
I doubt she will like yeezus, idk but I personally don’t like the edgy feel of the album because it’s really “good” music, bound 2 and hold my liquor are good though
We Kanye fans need Yeezus next
That Album is actually in my top 5
Kanye Albums. It came out in 2013
When Kanye was mentally very frustrated, because people in the fashion Industry were not taking him serious.
Yeezus is his alternate narcissistic Ego.
The Concept of that Album & the Yeezus tour performances & Stage designs are inspired by „Dante Alighieri‘s „the devine comedy“.
The Donda Album Rollout is also inspired by that story.
First Kanye is in hell
Then in purgatory
At last in Paradise
I’m referring to the 3 Public Listening Events.
Listening parties being inspired by Dante’s Inferno hasn’t been confirmed.
Debating with myself whether Yeezus is top 3 or top 2 for me
Word
Now that you mention it, this is what the Donda trilogy is gearing up to be
21:38 imagine back then hearing Franks voice again 4 years after Channel Orange dropped 🥲 and then he came back with endless and blonde the same year
Ik it’s cliché, but 2016 was something special🥲
@@ChaosInColour true though
Context for the Silver Surfer Interlude:
At one point towards the rollout of the album, Kanye was considering using the title Waves for the project. 'Wavy' as a term in hip hop was pioneered by a rapper named Max B, and some people - most notably Wiz Kalifa - thought Kanye was using the term for himself when his music has nothing to do with the original "wavy" style. This led to a pretty hilarious Twitter rant from Kanye at Wiz which was basically 20 tweets talking shit and 1 tweet talking about how much he liked Wiz's pants in his profile pic.
Kanye ended up changing the name of the album anyway, but the interaction clearly got to him a bit, because he ended up recording a call he made to Max B in prison essentially getting the man himself to back him up as 'wavy', which he ended up including as the Silver Surfer Interlude presumably just to piss off Wiz Kalifa.
The TLOP album rollout wasn't Donda levels of wild, but it was still quite a trip lol.
Idk the TLOP rollout to me seemed more out there, or at least the rollout PLUS the months that followed. From the album finally dropping, to the many track changes, everything from slight changes in production to adding and deleting tracks which went on for a few months, the nude sculpture thing that even had Trump and Taylor, and the whole it's going to be a Tidal exclusive thing. Add to that the tour which seemed to me like it could've been probably one of his best, and for it have ended the way it did. To me the TLOP rollout seemed way more out there, or more intense.
damn im a massive kanye stan and i didnt even know that. respect
**Facts (Charlie Heat Version** and
**Saint Pablo** are not included because they made the video become blocked. Other than that, I hope you enjoy this video! Track list is in my description.
UMG really gotta chill with their blocks
What about Saint Pablo
2 of the best songs :'(
That's too bad! Saint Pablo is one of my Favorite Kanye tracks.
im sad for no Saint Pablo, what did you like about it?
you hit us with the unexpected shelby! i’ve been so into kanye as of late and this is such good timing lol
You’ve become my favorite reaction channel for music. You have a very lighthearted, but still thoughtful take on the lyrics and I appreciate that you don’t immediately protest on his more questionable bars. I’m very interested in seeing a reaction to his album “Ye”
Excited to watch this have enjoyed your channel a lot
i love to see people's faces when the hear the beat drop in father stretch my hands for the first time because i know i'll never be able to experience hearing it for the first time again so this is my only way to relive that emotion
SHELBY WE WERE WAITING FOR THIS 😭🔥
28:02 The bass sample for Fade is a 1985 track called "Mystery of Love" by Mr. Finger, and the vocal sample is from "I Know I'm Losing You" by Rare Earth.
Both are really good songs, honestly. Really funky vibes from both, worth a listen
This reaction is everything. I was dying at “I love Kanye”
I’ve always looked at this album as a digital self portrait. A raw glimpse into the Musician, Designer, Innovator, Husband, Father and Celebrity. Someone once compared it to aTumblr page which is pretty accurate. Just look at the album cover.
i can listen to the 30 hours instrumental all day
Lets rock out for about *30 hours*
Shout out Drake for the bars on that track. One of my favorites
@@kaidms lol mid drake has ghost writers he hasnt written shit 😂
@@kaidms I heard he only gave Kanye a couple of lines not a whole verse
@@Ivan-dg7kr yeah I don't think he wrote the whole thing. But the whole thing go so whatever he gave ye had to be fire
this album is so much nostalgia, was 15 when it came out, i remember being wayyyy too high on weed and drunk for the first time listening to this album vividly, i love that night so much. it was my introduction to frank ocean, who has influenced and inspired me so much it isnt funny. Top 5 personal albums for me honestly, i still cry listenin to it sometimes
This was when kanye recaptured the youth
Oh to be enjoying the likes of Ultralight Beam, Waves and Wolves for the first time. Id give everything just to be able to listen to this album for the first time again. I remember my first listen ever, I was super down that day and the album just elevated my mood so so much and I even forgot what i was down for, got completely lost in the music. Amazing album
Omg. Perfect content to end my night with. Thank you 😀
Wow, such a great reaction channel how tf had I not found this . Great Video!
I always find myself coming back to the track 'Real Friends'. This album is incredible.
Finally getting into the Kanye territory!
what im sayingggg
Trust me, I've tried doing Donda too but UA-cam made it impossible lol.
We appreciate the effort lol. Just glad you were able to react to something! If you can Yeezus is a great one.
@@ShelbyShuffleMode ohhh no :(
Such a grower of an album. This is honestly probably my favorite Kanye album of all time, very very close to Yeezus and MBDTF but maybe with a slight edge because the ideas on this project are insane! Also, Saint Pablo is my favorite Kanye track, im glad you got to hear it even if it didnt make it to the video.
Thank you! Love your reactions
TLOP is prob my 2nd favorite Kanye album behind College Dropout. It's just so near-flawlessly executed and wrestles with some really difficult and intriguing themes.
For me this is the only album where the features feel like instruments. Like I don’t think of wolves ft sia and Vic Mensa. They’re another layer which I love. This is definitely my fav Kanye album I think, for a while it was mbdtf, graduation or yeezus but I think it’ll stay tlop

Just a recommendation, you can use free programs like obs where you capture your webcam and desktop audio(music), this would just make the audio quality better for us to listen to rather than through you mic. The one con is that you would need to wear headphones so that it won’t eco. Or you could lower your mic gain but that’s like an extreme option if your against headphones. Love your videos!
need more ye reactions , honestly one of the greatest artists of our generation
I recommend you listen to Family Business and then Real Friends after to really see how different his perspective on family is from a 10 year difference between the 2 songs
I’m that one annoying friend that will always send you songs and playlist to check out, love how you’re jamming out haha. I just happened to stumble across this YT channel, earned a new subscriber!
I was looking forward to the reaction to I Love Kanye
I am not disappointed
I was literally listening to this album while scrolling UA-cam and this video magically pops up on my notification feed lmao
16:38 - Her smile when she hears Abel's voice and then she's like "IT'S THE WEEKND" I love that
This like the third video i watched from her.... subscription earned.
This album is all over the place, it’s perfect
Shelby I appreciate you
damn i remember listening to this for the first time on a road trip when it came out good times mannnnn
excited that you are gonna start a patreon, you are great at what you do! :) what is ur fav track from 808s?
Some of TLOP was produced by Madlib, who collaborated with MF DOOM as Madvillain on the legendary rap album Madvillainy. I recommend giving it a listen!
YEEZUS IS GOING TO BE A MOVIE
Missed you! Kanye my favorite artist too 😌
This album already feels nostalgic. Amazing album. I wouldn’t want to rank it though because all Kanye albums are amazing!
I know somedays i could say,hey pablo is his best album but another im like hey ye its pretty good as well or dropout is his best one.
TLOP is my personal favorite Ye album and College Dropout is in my bottom 3
@@istoodinp00p17 Its amazing how diverse Ye's discography is. My favorite is Yeezus, Donda and Graduation (for now). Just shows how good of an artist he is if everyone has a different album as their favorite haha.
as a fan of all kanye, i am excited that you stopped at throne... this was so fun
This album is a legendary masterpiece ❤❤ love this album so much ❤❤
TLOP is my fav Kanye album and it made me a Kanye fan after that i slowly started listening to Kanye I love all his music.
I cant believe you did thissssssssssss yeeeaaaaaaaaaa😭❤
she really said, "Kanye being Kanye" than hit us with the Kanye shrug. lol 8:19
sometimes, that's all that needs said...lol.
Yeezus is my favorite Kanye album, you gooootta listen to it. It’s very hard to enjoy first time, but when you get used to the sound and pick up on the little details it’s amazing
Well said tbh
@@gaara_vfx5597 why thank you
MBDTF is my favorite Kanye album. Followed my Graduation. Then 808's and Heartbreaks. Then The Life of Pablo. But of course College Dropout is a classic. I remember when me and my friends bought the CD and we were so pumped. Great reaction.
JESUS IS KING>
Love you for loving KanyeWest
Because of the time he released dis album it’s my favorite of his ever. Summer 2016 was fucking amazing
I can’t wait until YE reaction
Yess this is my favourite Kanye album
One of my favorite albums of all time
my fav album
We all wanted to see you react to saint pablo
A reminder that Daniel Caesar’s CASE STUDY 01 has been out for a minute and Please! React to him. I loved experiencing Freudian again with you a while ago. Much love ❤️
Real Friends is my fav one. Imo this is one of the most meaningful song of Kanye. The lyrics spoke facts. Real facts. This song talk about Life. Not only about Ye’s Life or my Life but in general every person on earth. The melody (s/o Frank Duke) is just so peaceful and sends to another place. When I hear the melody im focus. I think about life. I love the perspective that brings Ty Dolla Sign like the point of view of the good old friend or the uncle/cousin/best friend who speaks mf FACTS.
When I hear Real Friends I think about my relation with people i had to met in my life. I just love to listen this song alone, watching sunset or clear night Sky.
When I listen Real friend i think about my life projects, my family, my love stories, my real friends, my past, my future.
I love this song so much. And just for that TLOFP is the best Kanye album ever made.
« This is not the album of the year (2016) but the album of life »
And don’t forget that u are a great person, keep dreaming, and realize your dreams. Peace on you,
From just a simple French dreamer.
I was just waiting for response to No More Parties in L.A.
It was like Kanye just went unconscious, and the rap gods decided to rap through him for a couple of minutes. Arguably his most impressive verse delivery ever.
It was like someone possessed him and made him spit absolute fire
saint Pablo too
Aye your dope as hell, new sub!
Exited for you to react to more kanye
SHELBY WE NEED NOTHING WAS THE SAME ASAP!!!!
You HAVE to do his whole discography
THANK YOU
You’re such a goober. I loved watching this reaction. I wish you all the success.
What's a goober?
What's a goober?
What's a goober?
What's a goober 111!!!!111!!!
ayo what in the hell is a goober
The Life of Pablo (TLOP) is my favorite album by Kanye. Cant wait for more Kanye reactions!
This album dropped on my birthday, TLOP will always be my favorite
If you haven’t done it already, you should definitely give Gambino’s “Because the Internet”
Dudeeeeee. I just realised where I know that 'Famous' sample from
Lauryn Hill sampled it for 'lost ones' off of The miseducation of lauryn Hill. What an all-time classic
Anyone else?
The Famous sample is from Nina Simone - Do What You Gotta Do
@@caleb9324This sounds closer to Sister Nancy - Bam Bam. Also from the same Nina Sample
@@caleb9324 it’s bam bam
people should give more recognition to Real Friends
It's too cute when you do that thing where you smile and close your eyes from enjoying the music.
*I put it at #1 and l love, l mean love Dark... Fantasy, 808 & heart, and Late registration but the beats, the hooks, and the melody on this album was just a masterpiece.*
I kind of scrubbed through comments and didn't see the answer to the samples. The part you were asking about was actually two. Bam Bam by Sister Nancy, an old reggae joint from the early 80s and Do What You Gotta Do by Nina Simone.
WE NEED YEEZUS
Definitely
I think you should listen to 808s and Heartbreak I think that would be your cup of tea. Loved the reaction!!
I know and love that album! I’ve listened to Kanye’s albums from the start through Watch the Throne and then dropped off…this is me discovering the second half of his catalog lol.
@@ShelbyShuffleMode aww man would have loved to see you react to Street Lights and Coldest Winter
you have to do At Long Last A$AP also
YESSSSS FINALLY
This is my 3rd favorite Kanye album, great reaction. Have you reacted to Donda yet?
Sample on Famous is Bam Bam by Sister Nancy
LETS GOOOOOOOO
Soundtrack to some of the most elite times of my life, TLOP aged incredibly
Wait till you find out about his discography including Kids See Ghosts(my favorite after 808 and Graduation), Ye, Donda, and the one recently he produced 5 albums. Kanye is the best artist of the 21st century.
Kanye is arguably one of the greatest artists of all time
TLOP is MBDTF mixed with Yeezus, the production is complex and rough, full of details and Kanye is at his prime, flow, lyrics and creativity. Masterpiece.

Obrigado, Kanye, por dedicar um álbum inteiro a mim.
Também o agradeço.
Album aged like fine wine, it’s definitely top 3 albums from Kanye
Your so lucky you get to listen to this for the first time.
you should really do an episode oh Yeezus. top tier kanye album and would make a great episode
Hi Shelby, Can you add time stamps for each tracks pls? I love your review by the way. You should do 808s & Heartbreaks.
In the description :)
whyb didn't she react to saint pablo
Please listen to Porter Robinson's Nurture! A little outside of what you usually listen to, but its my AOTY and one of my favorite projects in a while.
BIG W
You should react to some kid Cudi. He was on Father stretch my hands 1 and has worked with Kanye a lot ever since 808’s
This album is great
i think that over time it has become a classic album
This is Great album
Listen to saint pablo and all day by Kanye too they came out around that time
i would give my 3 first borns to listen to this for the first time again
You should react to J. Cole -2014 Forest Hills Drive
It’s my favorite Kanye album
TLOP is easily top 3 Kanye for me. Cried the first time I heard Ultralight Beam
GOAT TALK
