    I just picked this up based on your review of it. It came in last week, and I just LOVE this knife. It is as light as a feather and cuts like a beast. At first, I was concerned that it was so light that the handle material was cheaply made and would break easy, but I don't think that's the case. I haven't read where anyone has had that problem. I love the locking mechanism on this knife, no blade play. This knife, for me, is the perfect edc. I truly love this knife. Thanks for a great review of a great knife!!! AAA+++++

    I have been looking at this knife for a while now but wasn't sure how it would hold up to jobs tougher than just cutting cardboard. Nice job showing us how it stands up to stabbing into wood! You have convinced me that this is next on my list! Great reviews by the way!

    I have the larger resistance. The thumbhole was too large and sharp to effectively open easily. I bought a 50 cent rubber grommet from the hardware store and with minimal trimming it works like a charm. I love it. Thanks for turning me on to Spyderco!

    Just got the bd1 lw in translucent blue. Big fan of the manix 2, have an s30v, g10 in all black, and a cruwear, carbon fiber. Also have the xl. Loving this 2.9 oz. model. Solid lockup, came screaming sharp. Was a little reluctant about the frn, but it's nice and grippy and well done. Will be my edc for awhile.

    Thanks, I like lightweight FFG knives, the G10 model is about 2oz. heavier and a hollow grind. Both are great the G10 model is a lot beefier. So I would say the lightweight.

    Great DEVO reference! Been wanting this knife for a while, but opted for their bushcraft fixed blade instead (bought it used on ebay for less than $150). I want the Translucent Blue Manix 2 and knifeworks will laser engrave it when I do get one. Thanks for the video.

    Great video! I just ordered the Translucent Blue version for EDC and camping. I am excited about getting it and putting it to use. I wanted something I can cut fruit and open boxes as well as chopping up small food items when camping. Thanks for showing it in action for fire tender.

    Saw your Gerber us assist review, saw the manix 2 was your favorite edc.... Did lots of research on what to get as my edc and wound up deciding on the manix 2 lightweight s110v. Your opinion only helped solidify my choice. Excited to get it in the mail. Previous edc was kershaw blur. Thanks lots. 🙏. Subbed.

    The blade pivot is a hex head, but the rest is pin construction. Great blade!

    They put the wire clip on their super lightweight knives.
    It does have less tension than the solid metal ones, but with a lighter knife you actually need less tension (and the wire clip saves weight) so it kinda goes hand in hand.

    This is one I've been holding off on buying mainly because of price and size. I really like my native 5 lightweight size wise and I prefer a quality lockback. Since purchasing a Cold Steel Prolite, I don't think I'll ever buy the manix.

    Sweet blade. It looks like it is also constructed with screws. The blue translucent one (at least originally) was pin construction which sort of turned me off a little bit. I kinda like to be able to fiddle with my knife.

    If they'd have given these knives nested steel liners, it would've helped tremendously with the way the handle feels. I still love my Manix 2 Lightweight, but I dare not apply any firm torsion to that handle....or at least nowhere near the amount of torsion I would with the G10 version. I know no knife is a pry bar, but it doesn't take much for you to feel the layers of that handle flex. Clearly a light to medium duty blade, but still awesome.

    Hey Aaron does the pinned construction bother you with this knife? Do you ever feel that being able to disassemble the knife is important in this case, or could it be overlooked in the case of the Manix 2 LW.? Thanks Aaron, - Mike in Pennsylvania.

    para 2 vs manix 2 for a do all knife what do you think and why? i know you said the s30v was harder for you to sharpen i use a sharpmaker also and ive found that i like s30v being that its a toothy steel i get good feedback from it and it has been great for me so far. have you ever used the wicked edge? looks pretty sweet but i might just try out the other rods for the spyderco.

    Mine will be arriving in the mail next week, (per your high recommendation of the manix) but I've been hearing some controversy regarding the steel. I'm tempted to return mine and buy the S110V version, but I'd like to hear your thoughts before I make that price leap. (Alternatively, should I go "heavy" and buy the standard G10 version in S30v...? - I know a lot comes down to user preference, I'm just concerned with the steel type/construction integrity/sacrifice in rust resistance.)

    • @gideonstactical
      @gideonstactical  9 років тому

      ***** I still have mine and love it. I edc it at least twice a week, and it holds good edge and is very easy to resharpen. S30V will hold a longer edge, but take longer to resharpen. The Manix line is awesome and anyone of them will serve you well.
