The AN1000 is not available in Europe. But, make sure you follow the Sony Europe channel as any announcements for future EU products will be posted there!
For those wondering about Sony's new 8K receivers announced last week, four are ES models and this one, the AN1000 is not ES branded. However, the AN1000 is very similar to the least expensive new ES model, the AZ1000. The key differences are: the AZ1000 has a detachable AC cable, a lower watt output (70 Watt, 2-channel) and a longer Sony warranty (5 years!). The AZ1000 is priced $200 higher than the AN1000. Given they have the same menus, software, remote, features, inputs and wireless speaker capability, the AN1000 here is the better buy.
I'm hoping they give us new Blu-Ray players as well. Something to better compete w/ the UB820 and UB9000. They need to fix the issues w/ the current Sony Blu-ray players.
THANK YOU! Omg I have been trying to figure out if it was an and/or situation with the TV center speaker. So happy to hear it's an and situation with the TV center acoustic speaker working with the stereo surround center speaker. Will definitely be trying to purchase this receiver if possible.
A question on behalf of all the Bass Heads out there. This receiver can have up to two wireless Sony subs connected to it and running which is great. However, it does also have two wired sub outputs on the back as well. Can this receiver have four subs running off of it simultaneously (two wired and two wireless) or does the receiver cut off the signal to the two sub-out RCA jacks on the back when it senses that two wireless Sony subs are already connected/linked?
One of the things that irked me about the Sony Str DN 1080 was that when listening to dtsx it did not utilize the Dolby Atmos height speakers. Does the AN1000 utilize the height speakers?
So excited to see this new receiver and all it's great features! I do have a question though. In all the various operating modes that the receiver supports, does it have the ability (when used with either wired or wireless rears) to be able to simply replicate the front right and left channels over onto to the rears when listening to a standard stereo source? I know that the rears are primarily intended to provide surround sound effects when listening to a surround-enabled source, but there are many instances when listening to just a 2-channel stereo source where consumers want the flexibility to simply bring the exact same sound playing from the front speakers back over to the rears (at the volume level of their choosing). Often times, consumers simply want to use the rears to bring the standard stereo channels to the back of a very large room at a decent volume level and don't need or want any surround sound features, effects or ability to be engaged at that time. Can this receiver do that for them when desired or will the rears only ever be able to be used for creating surround sound effects? I believe in years past, this type of thing was accomplished through the use of Dolby ProLogic II. Additionally, when listening to a surround enabled source, could that source be down-sampled into just a stereo signal, so that the full right and left channels from the front could be replicated on to the rears? I know this might sound silly and a little bit odd, but there are SO many instances where consumers actually want to have the flexibility to do this when they deem it necessary or beneficial for them to do so, based on their specific need at the time.
The primary reason why I ask this question is that a lot of times customers have the desire to use these types of products in slightly "off-prescription" ways that are a little different from their primary intended use case. Giving products the ability to be flexible in that regard makes them more adaptable to customer wants and needs and broadens their application out to a greater number of potential use cases. Often times, product designers get so focused on making products great at the primary intended task, that they often overlook the value of making sure those same products remain adaptable to other less common, but still useful scenarios. In most customer's minds today, even though this is something that is commonly overlooked, maintaining a high degree of both flexibility and adaptability in how a product can be used is still one of the greatest value-adds any company can bring to the table.
@@michaelbeckerman7532 This is a great question! I too have had this come up a few times. To answer, it does allow for multi channel stereo. It will duplicate the left channel to the left rear and same with the right.
Is it possible to wirelessly connect SA-RS3S as back speakers, connect SA-SW3 wirelessly, and also connect a wired center channel speaker in AN1000 Sony receiver model?
Does the STR-AN1000 have a 360 spatial audio mapping like the Sony HT-A9? Will it give a pseudo atmos effect from non-Atmos source (using height effects). Thanks and I hope this question is fairly clear.

Hi! I have the Sony rs3s as rear speakers but I don’t have a soundbar. Can I still connect the rs3s to the an1000 even without a soundbar? All other speakers I’m using wired speakers
Just got one, awesome product, but having some issues using the multiple hdmi outs. I use the AN1000 as a pseudo-hdmi switcher (I know its overkill, but planning for proper speakers in the future, but wanted to resolve my hdmi issues in the meantime). So I was hoping to use the dual hdmi outs to send video to TV and audio to my 5.1 Bose ST300 soundbar (with full surround and sub setup). The AN1000 is able to do this with a Zone2 setup, but I have to sacrifice ARC control, ECE, and Dolby Vision video, which is driving me crazy. I think the dual hdmi does not work as advertised when it should be hdcp2.3, with audio and video split you have even more headroom per channel, but when both hdmi outs are in use Dolby Vision downgrades to HDR10. As a workaround I have to send both audio and video to my ST300 and it sends the video to the TV. This way I don’t lose any HDMI ARC and ECE control (so no need for multiple remotes) and Dolby Vision works. But annoyed that I can’t use the AN1000 to send the best video signal to the TV and the best audio signal to the soundbar. Bose’s new soundbars don’t even support hdmi out, so dolby atmos is just a dream. Im trying to stick with Bose as I have wired my room for their speakers.

I have yetto find Atmos to be more immersive and room filling than the STR AN1000 running A.F.D movie mode with the 360ssm feature enabled. I noticed the other day that the Sony A7000 soundbar allows you to play DSD files (.dsf) off of a thumb drive plugged into the USB port on the rear of the unit. However, I was told that the USB port on the front of the AN1000 can't play back those same files off of a thumb drive. Is there a reason why one device could do that though its USB port but the other one couldn't? I know that you can send in DSD audio into the AN1000 over HDMI when hooking up a DVD player like the Sony X800/M2 that can output DSD audio to the receiver when playing back SACD's. Might Sony be able to add .dsf file format playback support to their front-mounted USB port on the AN1000 in the future though a firmware update? Is it known if any of the ES-series model receivers support .dsf file playback though their front-mounted USB ports?
Does it lessen your set up speakers if you use 2 wireless, let say you have 5.1.2(ceiling) would it taken out the . 2 (ceiling) if i use the 2 wireless, or would it add to my 5.1.2?

so in a 5.1.4 set up with in ceilng speakers for my atmos rears what happens to the upfiring speakers in the SA-RS5 speakers if using them as my surround sound speakers? Can you connect them that way?

Always am thinking, why would anyone buy a receiver and wireless speakers? The receiver needs to amplify the speakers, not the speakers themselves.
there are even speakers on battery power..
You are right, the AVR would be powering the speakers. But, in order to provide options for different people, this is a great feature. I've met many people that want rear speakers, but can't or do not want to run wires. Now there's an option!
@@DerekFromSony That's true 😁
No phono???

A 2023 model and no TIDAL Connect ??
It has Chromecast audio and Apple AirPlay 2. So it will stream lossless audio quickly. If you want Tidal built-in, look to Onkyo and Pioneer Elite.
Sony needs to stop beating the 8K drum. 5-10 years from now it may be worth talking about, GET 4K & GAMING DONE PROPERLY FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!
It does support two HDMI 2.1 ports and two outputs! 4k120, VRR, and ALLM for your gaming needs! 8k just comes along for the ride.
Hard to watch this with the annoying background music
Yamaha rx-v6a🤷♂️
Best bang for your buck. Sony is needlessly more expensive
AV receivers better than Sound bars....
EUROPE ?
Avoid Sony Receivers, I'm stuck with a receiver that I have to hit to get the left speaker output working every start. Sony couldn't replicate any issue.
aahhhh this is a substitute for real cinema, in fact with such a transformer and such a capacitor it is not able to properly power 7.1, it's a toy for fools
2 x 8200uF 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is a joke 🤣🤣 , weak stereo amplifiers have larger capacitors
not a good Receiver
how so
Wow me like
