Katelyn is QUEEN! My daughter turns 7 years old next month and she LOVES everything Katelyn James and has already asked me if Katelyn can photograph her wedding when she gets married! That's marketing at it's best!!
Hi Katelyn! I’m currently working through the Business Collection, and currently I’m a family photographer and working to incorporate weddings into my business, but I would like to grow my family photography first.. could you make a video about helping our family photographers grow when it comes to pricing? Thank you!!
I have a friend who wants me to take photos for her wedding in November. I’ve never took photos for a wedding before and I don’t know what to charge for it. The wedding would be about 2 hours and the location is about 2 hours from me give or take. As some one who is new to all this do you happen have any tips I guess you could say for charging for the wedding? Cause I don’t wanna over charger but I also don’t wanna under charge as well.
As new photographer I have gained all of my clients and business through Facebook and Instagram. Should I have a website? Is that a must or part of becoming a better known professional?
I'd say 100% you should have a website, it's essentially your home base where you can curate your portfolio and information exactly how you want it. Facebook/Instagram are great for showing work and connecting with people, but it's hard for someone to really distinguish you from others only based on what is on social media since every photographer is using the exact same format. You're also very limited on the information you can include and how it's presented on social, so having a website lets you design that however you want for your style. I use Wix which is just like Squarespace, makes it super easy to update my photos or change pages/etc. And personally as someone who got engaged recently, I really don't think I would book someone for my wedding photos if they didn't have any form of website
@@DT0me7624 you'll get different prices for websites depending on who you choose. I use weebly and only pay $18 a month. Squarespace is awesome but is a bit more expensive. As far as managing it, again, this depends on who you hire. I update my website myself. So I don't charge anyone. Best of luck for you!!
If I were to marry again, you would be my photographer, not because of the beautiful pictures you take but because of your humanity.🤗 Well, my problem is, almost nobody here knows me as a photographer; marketing is my problem.
If you’re brand new to photography, you shouldn’t be charging for weddings. My tip would be to do a few small weddings for free to build your portfolio first.

@@ChrisBrayPhotos Thank you! How much on average does it cost to set up a website and have it maintained?

A website is a must. I spend about $9 a month (paid annually) for my website hosting server. Then I use WordPress for a free CMS.

Well if your brand new to photography then social media could be a set back so u won’t have much on their
