    Thank you for this Meg! I took a personal brand photography course in 2017 or 2018 and the huge focus was placed on subscription based, but like you said, there was no way they would be using that many photos in a year and the pricing suggested was so high for those of us just getting our feet wet with it, even with offering a discount before we officially launched ($499 per client).

      Yes you have to test out what works best for you. What offer HAS sold well for you in the past and at what price point? Start there :)

    a large retainer with a client is about as close to a steady income that we get! I always jump on the opportunity haha

      Yes I love when I get large retainers too, definitely jump on that! And for steady income in this industry year after year, I've really found a mix of payments plans + subscriptions + PIF work wonderfully

    I have a certain package for each genre + a couple combined 😊If I have not 1, but 3 for each, the clients will get confused.
    I just mention that these are basic packages which can be expanded if needed.

    I have introduced a subscription offer this year. Mainly because I want to work more closely with my clients to make sure they gave the right imagery at hand. Looking to sign up a max of 10 people

    Thank you for making this video, full of so much value! I was thinking about how the clients don't really know how much session time they need so it's about finding out how many images that are on their must have list for the session, how many lighting set ups it will require before you give them a price. I made a huge mistake on a commercial job and priced it like a model portfolio session. I regret it so much, not to mention I found the client letting their vendors use the images on their youtube channels and social media. I was a little to eager to work for my ideal client. But then again, I've over priced some jobs and lost an ideal client too. Pricing is so hard.

    • @megmariephoto
      @megmariephoto  9 місяців тому

      Sooo many good point you mentioned here! Pricing is tricky for sure. I bet that commercial job you underpriced was an invaluable lesson, and now you will feel 1000% more confident asking for a higher price because you KNOW how much time and energy goes into a shoot like that! Expensive lessons are sometimes part of the entrepreneur journey 🙃 although I'm trying to help photographers avoid costly mistakes as much as I can!

    First off, thank you so much for this information, Meg. I would like to create an Oracle deck (like a Tarot deck) with real-life photos of models. A photographer is needed for my project. Is that still considered "brand photography"? What do I ask for from a photographer? What kind of photography? I haven't even started the project yet. :/

    • @megmariephoto
      @megmariephoto  Рік тому

      Wow this sounds like a really cool project! it sounds like more of a commercial type project since you would be hiring models and need the photog to find talent for you. A Personal Brand shoot would be more for YOU as the creator behind the deck you could use for promo and marketing. Either way, I would LOVE to help with this project when you a ready ;) please reach out

    How many outfits do you suggest clients to wear over the session time?

    • @megmariephoto
      @megmariephoto  2 роки тому +1

      Love this question! I recommend about 2-3 outfits per hour of shooting time on average. Some clients can do more but 2-3 is typically pretty doable without feeling stressed.
      Variety is always better than 50 photos in same outfit!
      So for a 3 hour half day session i recommend 6+ and for a full day 6 hour I recommend 12+
