Agree this should have been called Hyperion X or something like that … no idea why their stability shoes are GTS makes no sense …. great review boys I’m with Robbie on this one
Not everything has to be soft soft soft! 😆 This sounds like a really appealing shoe - wish I hadn't spent all my money the Superblast which I find too big and soft
100% agree. Not a daily trainer. It’s stiff and is good for speed workouts, but not cushioned enough for a long run. Shoes are comfortable and look great. Was hoping for a little more cushion.
I love mine. I was on the fence between the speed 4s and superblasts. Then I tried the Max 2s on, and they just felt right. I heard other reviews complaining about the weight, but they feel light on the foot. They are an amazing mixture of soft and stiff when you need it. They somehow magically change to what you need as you change pace. Great shoe.
it's a little too stiff for me to buy, but the upper absolutely rules. Zero effort to get a perfect lockdown in it. Brooks should put it on everything.
Tried these on yesterday and loved the fit, so I’m doing review research. Thomas has the same concerns about lack of softness and bounciness as Tom from The Run Testers, and I do like some good bounce. So I’m waiting for a sale.
I'm so impressed with this shoe! I'm a heavier runner (~210 lbs) with a thicker ("high volume") foot. The upper is outstanding-so comfortable and plenty of room. For one size comparison point, I wear a 10 2E in the Hoka Mach 6 for daily training miles, and I'm wearing a 10.5 in the Hyperion Max 2 (Brooks recommended this size when I used their tool). I love the combination of the DNA Flash v2 and the SpeedVault plate; I found that I naturally wanted to move a slightly faster clip and that it was very enjoyable to gear up and gear down through my paces. Love the responsiveness. Have been out for a tempo and done some strides. I tried out the Endorphin Speed 4 in a US 10 at the same time, which I found to be way too tight across the top of my forefoot and that the midsole hit under my forefoot and heel in strange ways (I noticed them the whole run). I think going up to a 10.5 in that shoe would be too long and wouldn't necessarily sort the volume issue.
I know where Brooks shoes to regularly run in, they are more of a casual shoe for me, but I’m really liking the updated version of this model. I am going to give it high consideration.
Heavy slow runner and works great for me and strides and tempos it's awesome. That upper is AMAZING! The firmness reminded me of Saucony endorphin shift 1
1000% agree with the midsole take from Thomas. Why throw a something a plate that firms the shoe up in an already pretty firm shoe? Great upper and Robbie is right more shoes need those chain link style laces!
Personally, I really like this shoe, I’ve put 30 miles in it since I bought it. But, it is not suitable for me since I stand flat and wide, my foot tends to lean inward, which makes me uncomfortable when I run more than 6-8 miles. I ran half a marathon with these shoes and the last 3-4 miles were a bit uncomfortable so I think this shoes is good for 5-10 km races. (For me) They don’t have much support but they are very light.
Loved the original Hyperion. Wanted to love the Max but as a heel striker that heel bevel is right where I land. And it felt like I would land back there and my foot would just sit there until I rolled forward and the forefoot would really slap down hard. Not a smooth ride for me at all. Looks like the Max 2 has the same heel design so these are out too ☹️
Hi. A good description. Like to Thomas and Robbe. Another comparison: Brooks hyperion Max 2 - Saucony endorphin speed 4. What do you think, please??. Happy monday.
I think this shoe now matches the "max" name. I think what ya'll are not calling max are Ultra uber we want KISS platform running shoes. I think they are beyond max.
Question for you guys (or anyone): Once I remove the glued insoles on these, will they stay put if I choose to put them back in? Really loving this shoe after ~70 miles but I admit, when I get to 12 mile runs it does beat me up a little bit if I’m not running fast so I’m considering throwing in some saucony insoles for longer runs.
You guys always have a hard time when a shoe turns out to be different to a previously held perception or narrative - rather than just judging a shoe on its merits?
Not a fan of the brand name big and bold on the side; I’m happy to run in a company’s shoes until they try turning me into a billboard. Too much over-branding.
I’ve had no issues at slower, steady paces. Especially after getting 30 miles or so on the shoe breaking it in. I wouldn't necessarily pick it over my superblasts or similar shoes for a recovery run but the few reviews saying this shoe doesn't work for slower paces is greatly exaggerated.
@@alecplooff They've been spoiled with soft squishy foams so they instantly get turned off by this. Also doesn't help that lots of reviewers slow pace are basically shuffling, making the foam feel firmer. If you're actually running it feels amazing.

I wish they would have so these guys stop talking about it. It’s not that confusing. Geez.
GTS = Go To Support. Just because you don't understand something doesn't mean that it "makes no sense"

What size? Wanting to part ways?
100% agree. Not a daily trainer. It’s stiff and is good for speed workouts, but not cushioned enough for a long run. Shoes are comfortable and look great. Was hoping for a little more cushion.
I don't think it's marketed as a daily trainer anyways

As a running store owner, Brooks' nomenclature is frustrating for sure! This is not what people expect from "max". But I love the upper!
Stiff and firm, best for tempo and threshold pace on the road when doing a long session

I love the shoe. I use it for everyday running.

Love mine! Have about 20 miles in so far of tempo/interval and am really impressed!
EVA is still EVA, I don’t care what they do to it. 💩
@@arsenalmanic5540I am not a material scientist but it’s supposed to be TPEE, not EVA, unless they are the same thing.

got mine for $72 thru work. absolute steal for such a good shoe.
Holy crap!! Are y'all hiring??? lol
how?
favorite shoe ever. Highly recommend!
this shoe is what the kinvara pro should have been. it reminds me lot of the speed 2 and makes me want to look at the hyperion 2
1000% agree with the midsole take from Thomas. Why throw a something a plate that firms the shoe up in an already pretty firm shoe? Great upper and Robbie is right more shoes need those chain link style laces!
I would like to see more close-ups of the shoes and footage of you running in them.
Not a bad shoe but I prefer the flexibility of the Hyperion 2. And even with less stack the Hyperion 2 feels softer.

So just buy the Hyperion and save $40 👌 And if they used +, they would be again nodding to Skechers (like the styling) when they did Razor, Razor +.
What’s the name of that lace type? My Nikes have it and they’re great…
It’s official Thomas has gotten soft
Yeah he dogged on the elite 4 and then went on to say the max 2 felt similar but he didn’t bash it
He needs to maintain his business face, but he is still communicating to the viewers. His yellow rating and the attire
Damn, I really wanted to get this shoe. It looks amazing but too many reviewers saying it’s too stiff. I thought it was gonna be a long run shoe… 😢
How would this compare with the Deviate nitro 3? I’m currently between the two
DN3 will be MUCH more plush & softer.

So are we talking about this as a speed shoe like Nike AlphaFly 2 or whatever number is out now?
Is it possible that the midsole, with a couple of miles, will “break”, and become more pliable and soft?
Skechers once again being trendsetters 🕺🏼
I have the first gen of this shoe and just returned it. They’re just not comfortable in the foot
How does this shoe compare to the Asics Novablast 4?
NOVABLAST is more flexible and more versatile.
Hyperion Elite ✅
Captain Jacquard😂
Make it sew! 😂
How about hyperion 2? Can you review that as well?
coming soon
Best looking Brooks ever is the T7 racer
Bro what was that sound effect at 3:46

When someone is looking at buying a shoe, they are going to base their decision off previously held perceptions or narratives... you can judge on both
As non Brooks fan, Thomas is THE CAPTAIN of the Brooks hater club 😂
He wouldn’t want to sport a Brooks T-shirt during a Brooks shoes review. Oh no, no thank you 😂
Potential race day shoe for someone not fast? We're talking 2hr half.
Why not just use a daily trainer?
Hyperion 2 please.
I love that Megan is nowhere to be found for a review unless it’s a racing shoe.
Man, she doesn’t have time for this 😂
Nike shirts during a Brooks review? Tisk tisk...

But at least they didn’t spray “SPEED.” I wish some designers get their aesthetic tastes checked

Brooks REALLY needs to use PEBA already! It’s 2024; enough of this “EVA infused” garbage. 🙄💩
EVA is still EVA, I don’t care what they do to it.
@@arsenalmanic5540 exactly!
The Mizuno neo vista is EVA, and some reviewers did confuse it for a PEBA foam, so it can be done well. Brooks definitely hasn't nailed it though
Sketchers is and will always be trash!
