    Handel rocked! This performance is authentic! And the passacaglia is legendary, one of the best themes and variations I've ever heard.

      En ese caso te recomiendo la Chacona HWV 443, también con tema y variaciones; no sé porque es menos famosa que esta pasaccaglia y que la Sarabanda con variaciones, es mucho mejor, te la recomiendo.

    Handel and Beethoven are my favorite composers for keys. Handel is also my all time favorite organ player and composer. 2nd CPE Bach, 3rd J. S. Bach, 4th Schubert and 5th Brahms.

    Lovely interpretation of this suite! unfortunately most people only know it for the Passacaglia due to its use in the film “God Rot Tunbridge Wells!” In which Handel and Scarlatti are rallied against each other in a keyboard contest. Which apparently actually happened, although they tied in real life. They also had a contest for the best organ player, which of course Handel won.

    A mi me encanta Handel, conozco casi todas sus operas, oratorios y conciertos; pero sus obras para clavecin siempre me han parecido con un espíritu completamente distinto al resto de su música, se muestra más introspectivo, serio o meditativo (con raras excepciones como el aria del herrero), suena tan diferente que a veces no me parece Handel....

    • @whathappenedtomusicpodcast4211
      @whathappenedtomusicpodcast4211 7 років тому +9

      The 432 is referring to the catalog number not the Hz. This is probably at 415 Hz which is fairly common for Baroque music.

    • @thereyougoagain1280
      @thereyougoagain1280 4 роки тому +1

      It’s HWV 432. It’s how Handel’s works are catalogued. This is the 432nd piece in the HWV catalogue. Bach’s works are catalogued as BWV, to give another example.
