This is one of the greatest performances I’ve ever heard. The beauty, the majesty, it captures it all.
I am genuinely in awe. You have captured it, Handel would be so proud.
This is my favorite Handel composition. Most of his music speaks to me the most compared to other great composers. Made sure to visit his resting place in London as a tribute.
@@Robert_1685 Bach was a subordinate religious fanatic of the church. Händel was an independent, free, spontaneous musician and some of his works for organ remind me of romanticism.
@@Robert_1685 Bach had a specialized organ in the church. Handel had a modest organ in the theater. I don't know of any brilliant dramatic oratorios or opera by Bach, only many brilliant dramatic oratorios, operettas and operas by Händel. So...
It my favorite too! I first heard it on a harpsichord and it was beautiful. This adds so many layers

Heaven is reached!
BRAVO!!! BRAVO!!! BRAVISSIMO!!!
I do feel like the climax of the video is the glorious 'climbing up and down the manuals' at 6:13 which you don't quite appreciate unless you are watching the video.... wow!!!
Handel lives on! His music reaches out through almost 3 centuries to touch the consciousness of millions of listeners who understand and love the immensity of his creative genius.
Waouh..... Quelle prouesse....
What a lovely
emozionante
that sound as powerful as the roar of a lion and at the same time as calm as a soft summer breeze is very original and shows all the power of the organ.
Your pedaling is incredible.
Spectacular!
Johnthan Scott and Handel, pure perfection!
A pedal playing out of rules... Flying feet! Thank you Johnathan.
You must be someone special to be allowed to play in this beautiful church. I thank God for this gift to you, so you can share it with us. And thank you.
My mother was a pianist. She dabbled with organ but was never comfortable. I remember her fondly when I hear your play. Thank you.
Piano and organ are really different instruments. I can play piano and I have tried organ. With the latter one I had to check where my feet were. To me, piano is more expressive.
@@ariseaman390you can just play 1 manual only and still sound fine without the others and no footboard. Just pull a few extra stops on the manual you are playing for a little better harmony and it comes out great.
@@KandiKlover What I meant was that with the piano you can control the volume by how hard you hit the keys. One of my friends once said that a piano is a percussion instrument because there are little hammers hitting the strings.
GREAT! GREAT! GREAT! Jonathan
Two things... first, to create this type of instrument in such an amazing structure as this church, second thing...to create such amazing
music on this instrument.. all back in the day that inorder to even hand saw a piece of wood took lots of hard work and dedication, this really impresses me...I'm amazed that any of this happened at all considering the difficulties of the time.
awesome
Fantastique
Jonathan Scott's organ playing is admirable
wow
its so wonderful
WOW, incredible pedal playing, stops used perfect, and yet another fantastic organ, not forgetting Tom who somehow manages to get the right balance of sound from a very difficult instrument to record. Many thanks both of you.
It fairly soars. And nice B-roll, too!
@@jrcrawford4 come to Brazil im a big fan x😩😩😩
@@jrcrawford4 I was just at your house in Eisenach, it's nice there
I have never seen a more difficult instrument, outstanding performance...
Another beautiful Handel's masterpiece played by a soloist of utmost quality. His feet seem to dance over the pedals
That'organ is amazing!
Enjoying it again thanks
BRAVO !
lovely sound
The 1st passacaglia I heard was Bach's passacaglia and fugue while I was in college which I thought was beautiful - Handel's is even more beautiful - amazing masterpiece.
You guys da best!
It is amazing.
Numero 1...
Bright, deep and angry at the same time.
I'd say that's a first for me, but I've been lucky to play on various spectacular organs in Lexington, KY.
Dare you to say that they "ain't" spectacular!
Maravilloso.
Hello and greetings from the Netherlands.
J.S.Bach and G.F. Handel were both born in 1685.
Bach turned 65 and Handel 74.
Not important otherwise but their compositions and influence are!
Wow beautiful
The last minute was so intimidating and magnificent.
The power that music has over me has always astonished me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for recording this. I've listened to it every morning for weeks during my morning prayer and contemplations with Our Lord.
this guy has to be some kind of Jedi
Excellent playing Jonathan.
Beautiful arrangement with fantastic registrations. That organ is amazing!
Decided to go back and read the comments again. It is pretty much unanimous. no matter the language, the music transcends all languages and all ages and is appreciated by all who cherish the works of the great masters. To be able and willing to share these great, majestic organs in these timeless cathedrals is amazing. We will forever be indebted to Jonathan and Tom Scott for sharing their many talents with the world.
Meraviglioso!
Excellent!
His heroic performance Ís off the charts㊗️
Bravo
Clearly one of the best works by Maestro Handel. Simply MAGNIFICENT!
A great performance indeed! And you, listeners, close your eyes and try to think: doesn't this piece remind you of something? A familiar little air, probably? If you answered "yes", you're right: this very passacaglia is reckoned to be the first composition introducing the so-called golden sequence, a chord progression used in like every second or third composition after this one, from Bach, Mozart and Vivaldi to modern pop and rock songs.
What an arrangement! Bravo!
Wonderful way to start my day. Thank you!
Amazing. Beautiful. Thank you!
The way it was meant to be!
Happy to catch this masterpiece early..I find myself listening to many more classical pieces since I began watching Jonathan Scott’s great performances.Thank you.🙏
Hello!!!
Ever since listening to the performances I have become addicted to listening it is so good!!!
Thanks brothers!!!
Here the same. Almost every evening listening some pieces.
Holy moly ... soooo fine. Bravo!
merci‼️
The Breathtaking performance!
Bravo!
Belleza! Mi alma se regocija
A jaw-dropping performance. The chronicled stop list is priceless.
Eins der besten Stücke von Händel.
this made my chest warm and my forehead sweat, very rare 10/10
Wonderful , he makes it look so easy.
Wow! This is the first I have seen the real pedal work! What talent!
One of the best songs i´ve heard
I have searched UA-cam for years and have yet to find a better rendition. Johnathan is simply the best to my ears.
Very special
Well done 🇳🇱
Handel.. è divino..ascolto la passacaglia e..sento tutto ..la vita..la morte..
Handel e Bach erano i suoi migliori
Great performance. Bravo maestro.
Beautiful organ Jonathan!
Impressed by the wonderful performance and the majesty of the organ, I almost cried. Thank you for playing.
BRAVO MAESTRO !!!
I remember hearing a vocal arrangement of this while at a concert in croatia. It was stunning, but the organ has perfectly captured the piece’s beauty in a new way
I say this with all due respect:
Holly f*ck!
It's the most amazing and beautiful version I have ever heard.
That is quite an instrument! Great music brilliantly played. The pedal work was VERY special. Thank you.
Bravo !👍👏👏👏
I've heard this played by strings, the organ version here is just too majestic and glorious- my goodness. Very well done.
Csodálatos ! Köszönöm szépen !❤
amazing! Pure Human Intelligence in all its magnificence!! Bravo!
Your playing has got me through the last 15 months! Every concert seems better than the previous one; and Dr Tom’s filming really makes each one special.
What a sweet tune. I especially liked the pedal melody of this one. And, the majesty and grandeur of the venues never fails to overwhelm me.
Wonderful! (Very busy feet there! 😀)
Many thanks to Jonathan and Tom.
I don’t know how you do this, to me it mesmerizing watching your hands and feet fly around making extraordinary music. Thank you so much!
🎼🎶a soul flight from Haendel to mr Scott🤎✨🙏🏾

Marvelous performance!
Great performance! It's a pity I can't find you guys on Spotify, because I would love to listen to this all day without having to go to UA-cam
Yes i think the sameee
such a great piece to show of the voices of the organ, especially if you have an impressive solo manual with a range of colors.
Una verdadera maravilla. Genial interpretación. Sublime.
Great music and fantastic player !
Che meraviglia!
Love it,❤️❤️❤️
Sacred ballet!
Brilliant as always.
