I wear my flannel shirts as sweaters over my t-shirts.

This year on the runways, they are bringing back the button down/up shirts in innovated ways! I would love to see you inspired by one of these pieces and recreate them. Especially since you have a lot of similar tops that would look lovely together. I can tell that your current project palette is quite blue, don't be afraid to mix different patterns! Even adding a bit of the golf skirt to the collar of the striped top, would then make them pair together! But as far as any of the royal or true blue pieces, any details can be added to another, or have added denim detailing!

I know - so much of it is blue 😂 I love your idea of mixing and matching the fabrics. I also think some projects will create scraps that will be perfect for some mix and matching as well.
I love an innovative button down/up so I will save that suggestion to my future project list 🤩

Anytime I see white silk my brain goes to natural dyes! Silk takes the colour so beautifully. I've been getting more into eco printing and tataki zome, so my brain automatically is there

Of course 😍 I want to do all of those techniques too. Especially tataki zome again. Your latest projects turned out so well! 🥰
But for the white shirt I imagine dyeing it in one color. I have acid dye for it but I could also look into how to create the same color with natural dyes.

@@missmatti Cochineal would give you vibrant pink and can be shifted darker with iron, more purple-y. Lac also gives reds and purples but more subdued shades, might be similar to what you are looking for. Would be a bit of a gamble what you’d get though! Excited to see what you end up choosing, I love a good dye project

21:19 I highly suggest waiting until next fall before changing this to a burgundy color, simply because the pale/mellow yellow is in right now! But so is red/burgundy... so it is definitely up to you! As far as tie-dye, I suggest trying the square folding method, it turned out to be my favourite tie-dye piece to date, In my case, I used bleach to highlight the square edges, with thin cardboard in-between the layers to protect the piece from bleeding through. Try out a basic plain top with the method you choose before dyeing any of your favourite pieces!

Thank you for the tips! I will definitely try the square folding tie dye technique you suggest out.

I highly suggest checking out Blueprint DIY, they do a lot of different button down/up shirt upcycles! From cropping them, to combining them, changing the sleeves, adding D-rings, snaps, ribbon or embellishment! Another person to check out is the DIY designer for inspiration! She does a lot more than just clothing, but I love how easy her projects are, and the impact they give! Some of these tops could be made sleeveless, with a grommet, ribbon, fringe, or lace detailing!

Editing the video I concluded silver is the best choice for this skirt too 😊🤍

5:22 maybe add a patch(s) to it. like for example: a flower patch.

It's a fun idea! 🤩 I will look around at come craft fairs for some fun patches that could work.

The melted athletic shirt... I had two thoughts. The first one was to turn it around if the proportions and neckline work that way and put in a sheer or flowy panel like they do starting about where you'd have to cut it to get rid of the melted spot and to the side seams just on the back. The other idea if you can't turn it around would be very similar but basically that style where there is a seamline right above the bust and it switches to another fabric. You'd probably want to do front and back matching but this could be done with another athletic fabric and keep it a functional athletic top.

Two great ideas! 🤩 Thank you 🙏🏻🩷 I think the second suggestion suits my long sleeve top the most. I think I will go for something like that whenever I get around to upcycle it.

I've refashioned man's shirt as button up the back blouse. Shirt hem, placket and cuff used as is. Sleeve was shortened from the top and cuff lapped more. Standup shaped collar was crafted from cutaway fabric. An additional button and buttonhole was added in the collar. Blouse front cut from back of man's shirt. There was little waste!

15:10 would maybe look good as a vest.
