E60 CCC Apple CarPlay android unit Install

- I am replacing the old school BMW CCC functionality and adding apple CarPlay with a unit I got from the internet, this unit has all that is needed inside the unit itself. Bluetooth, WiFi, and it integrates to the car wire loom so all the buttons and other functions remain active. In this video I will do the install and I will test the unit for a couple of weeks and then I will do a review video from my experience and maybe safe you the hassle of installing it and realizing that it doesn't work as well as you had hoped. So I will waste my money... so you don't have to.

great video ;) do you have night vision ? i listen from a friend you cant start the night vision with that android unit and some other things. is true ? :)
Hey Frazier, I believe that the backup camera has the night vision, however we are still playing with options and all the stuff to do a full review in a couple of weeks, definitely we will look into all the problems and success we run with this unit

I heard the microphone on the screen is not great from a friend, do you have any problems with it while making calls? Is it possible to switch to factory mic? Thanks
Hi bro, I also got the CCC android unit. Now I used this about 6 years. But some times this device will steal power and cause the car's system to display a power leakage. Over time, the system will overheat(CCC android unit), leading to a crash, resulting in the screen becoming unresponsive.
Do you mind saying where you got it from? Might have already been answer but I don’t know.
Where can I buy?
Be mindful that if you have a m5, the M button makes the unit go back to oem mode...andream are going to try to resolve this issue via a update but god knows how long it'll take

@mangekyosharingan3020 no mate, they said they would do but even after updating it recently it still does it.
@@markk1055 Thanks for the quick response Mark. Yeah I have an Andream Unit as well, the customer support has been pretty useless. I told them the back up camera cable was too short to route through my entire car, and they couldn’t do anything about it….
@mangekyosharingan3020 yes I had similar experience with them, tbf they responded quite quickly but had no way of resolving my issue, so ye pretty much useless like u said. I still have the m5, but bought a m3 aswell so I now rarely use the M5.

What did you with the wire with the two prong connected to a screw on the back of the head unit … toward the bottom left of the head unit
There are two cables on old screen. LVDS(metalic) and other with clip. At where you have it(plastic clip)?
I know this video is old but does it retain the surround sound modes? Concert hall? Theater ?
We don’t have the car anymore, but for the year we had it, everything stuck without problems; or at least we didn’t notice the surround audio changing.

Did you needed to connect a aux cable with your aux input in your armrest?
No the plug provided with the aftermarket unit hijacks the aux cable rendering the cars aux port useless
For some cars you will need to use an Aux and for someone don't.

But if i long press menu button again, it goes to new interface screen ? or carplay screen ?
I hope it goes to carplay screen last i used.
It doesn't go to the CarPlay screen it goes to new interface screen. A bit annoying if you ask me.

next time when you start engine, Carplay connected automatically? or needs to reconnect manually everytime?
In theory it should automatically. But the wifi CarPlay was finnicky and I had to reconnect it every time. And sometimes it didn’t want to. I had to remove the Bluetooth device and add it back couple of times. So I didn’t really use it. The CarPlay via a cable is obvious I hope. You have to reconnect every time. But that makes sense. It’s a cable you have to reconnect the Bluetooth and WiFi device.

I have this same unit, I can not get CarPlay sound to go through. It’s all set to aux, I switched over the optical, and I have the aux output plugged into my aux input in center counsel. Do you have any ideas, thanks.

@@camilomorales6903 yes, there is a little black box that has a connector and a circuit board in it. This had come disconnected, I opened the box and reconnected it. I have a picture of the box and board if you’d like me to email it to you or send via social media.

hola buenas, te quería preguntar una duda que tengo con una pantalla como esta, te funciona los 2 usb? por que a mi solo me funciona uno, el otro no emite señal ninguna... no se que podra ser.. e intentado de todo, la pantalla tendrá alguna opción o algo? un saludo
Hola Luis, possiblemente hay una opción para habilitar los conectores externos de la pantalla. No hemos intentado usar esas conexiones. Nos gustaría ayudarte un poco más pero hemos vendido ese auto y no tenemos acceso a esa pantalla :(
