    That use of the bottom plate and bolt on that like the heater channel . The front firewall. Etc. Is a tip I needed.
    I just bought a “previous” project where the bottom sections are already cut out. But with that tip I can confidently now start.

    Dude, thanks for this. Someday I gotta do all this but been putting it off for years because I didn't know how to go about it and my mig welding so far has been bad but slowly improving. Wonder how many half inch drills I am gonna break, probably gonna buy a whole box of them!

    Amazing work! However, why is the headliner still in the car, while you are welding and grinding? Is it supposed to be replaced at a later point?

    We're doing an electric conversion of a Beetle and thinking about sending the high voltage cables through the heater channels, as we don't need them for heat. I was trying to see in the video, but I'm still uncertain: are there any obstructions inside the heater "pipe"? Like pieces of metal welded in for better airflow that could damage the cables? We will of course use conduit around the cable. Would it be easy to run the wires through?

    question for the B pillar patch, did you use a lap joint with a stitch weld or a butt joint? wasnt too sure which one you did on that one. also, if you did a lap joint, how did you manage to keep the metal looking stock without having put a step in the bottom of the pillar?

    again, nice informative video but I have a question. When I started this I didn't think to brace the car and it's been sitting off body for about 10 yrs now. How do I get the body back aligned?

    • @callahansgarage
      @callahansgarage  Рік тому +1

      I discuss this briefly in the part 1 video. In short if you can get the doors back into alignment that will get you headed in the right direction. Use a porta-power, winch, brute force, whatever it takes to get the body back into shape then get your bracing in.

    Too bad a dry ice blasting system is so expensive. Those wheel wells would be down to clean paint in 10 minutes each.
