Anyone buy heater channels from DKB?
That is absolutely sick!
Hey man I have a 70 also do I need the shock relocation brackets or am I good ?
Great video really admire your work discipline, shame engineer needs rebuild but good luck with it all👍
Need a new video
Excellent presentation! I am about to buy C8000 1989 emergency response vehicle. I am having the same reaction and excitement as you!
Thank you so much for all the gold information. I'm about to finish my rotisserie; hopefully it's going to work well. When I started working on my bug, I said to myself, "I'm just going to build a simple 4-legged dolly out of wood, but watching all your videos and seeing how useful this tool is, it was a no-brainer trying to build one.
Hey Callahan! Just wanted to say I really appreciate your insight and great teaching/delivery. Conclusive , complete , and well laid out. Keep up the great work !
Nice
Very educational, direct, specific and boy do I wish I watched this video earlier. Fortunately, I stopped before picking up the grinder. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and you have averted another potential problem.
Top notch tutorial brother!
I also have a 70 just like that one not as clean but will be that boy is sick
Callahan do you install for outsiders
Wow, great video. I wish I had known this technique sooner. I have converted three 6v gearboxes and 2 have given me issues with clearance after the conversion was done. The method you have demonstrated is far better as most of the time I was guessing where the clearance would be.
Nice. Im working on a 75 super beetle. I need to do this.
Are you having the transmission rebuild? I have the same car 62 rag about to start tearing it apart not sure if i should just clean up transmission or have it rebuild
the 1970s caddys are bigger then 1980s caddys
Where are you located?
Very informative video! I've rewatched this a couple of times as I am currently at this stage of my restoration! I have a question about bracing, I have the same bracing as you but as I will also need to replace the bottom part of the door pillar and the outside front quarter the bracing is kind of in the way. Can I remove the bracing after the new heater channel is in and welded on front and back? obviously the pillar will not be welded to it since it needs to be cut out. Thanks for all the videos, makes it much easier to complete my restoration!
Try not to repeat yourself....especially within the same sentence. At just 6min. in, we are still talking about repairs before doing the actual work. Probably not the channel for me.
On another video I saw that the rubber stops were cut instead of cutting the spring plate. Is that another better option?
I need this done to the exact same car
Great video!!
I have a same model Same color vw beetle 1965 model but problem is its rusted from bottom no reference point please make a video on such a car .
Or could I just get a 6v flywheel and clutch? And fit that up to the 1600?
Great video! I'm new to the vw stuff and will be doing this on a dune buggy project. I do have the early style throwout bearing and pressure plate. It looks like manufacturers make an early style pressure plate and clutch that fits the 200mm 12v flywheel? I figured that's what I would need for the 12v flywheel in a 6v transmission?
Where you located??
So I lowered my 68 two notches on the rear torsion and the spring plate is resting on the spring plate stopper. AND on the drivers side rear my newly installed Disc brake caliper is centimeters away from the body. I’m going to have to notch the body out where the brake caliper will hit or it will brake my emergency brake stuff off the top of the caliper.
Super helpful and loved the tips. About to put my replacement panels on my 54 beetle and will use all the ideas. Thanks!
I have the rotisserie for larger cars. You think it can still be used? Just add some center supports in the middle? My bug is a 74 Beetle and I have to do floor pans. So far that's the extent of major work that I can see.
I think it's a shame to ruin a nice vintage piece of history. Once they are gone....they're gone. From a former volunteer fireman.
Did you bag all of your cars yourself? I have a 95 sedan deville I wanna bag and put 14/7s on it . But think trusting some one to to it right give me anxiety
Hey Callahan, have you ever tried hydraulics?
Did you ever make some blue prints?
Great video!! I will definitely be ordering from Sam in the future for my current build. Curious what your wheel specs are on this one?
After watching all these vw videos I've come to realize what I thought was a rough beetle that I aquired is actually a minty fresh GEM
On my 57 oval, I have a hole in the very front and very back of my heater channel. Is it possible to just replace those areas and not the whole channel? Also, I have small pin holes in areas on the channel. It’s a California bug.
They actually made them all the way up until nineteen ninety seven they literally stopped at nineteen ninety seven .
The after market ones from Denmark ARE TERRIBLE and don’t come anywhere close to ones for an oval
Thank you for sharing your knowledge! Best video on this subject on youtube!
Good morning sir I have a1966 bug what is the best rea language complete to buy ?
Niiiiiice
A fantastic how to!! Question...I have a 1967 Beatle. Mid-Atlantic, J-Bugs, etc. don't seem to carry the rear apron. What should I be doing for this panel. 67 seems to be a unique car?? Your thoughts please! Thanks!!
Hey Callahan, I have a 63 bug I’m restoring, and I made the mistake of not bracing it before taking it off it’s pan. This is my first ever vw project and car project of any kind. I’m bound to make mistakes, but I plan to put it back on it’s pan and re-brace it. My hearer channels are so far dead it’s crazy, you can’t really tell they’re heater channels anymore. I believe the original tack welds are still there. But I wanted to ask, would it be a good idea to weld the doors shut, then replace the channels with the doors welded shut to help with more stability and proper placement??
Did this kit improve the play in the steering?
What spring plates exactly do you have? Thanks
What tyre size are you using front and back
Hi i have a question, I have put new 3 inch narrowed beam in and drop spindles and is like driving on bump stops there's no travel, any ideas on how to get it right thanks
LOve the Videos ! All of them are Detailed and explained to a tee ! Wife and I just bought our first VW . Bought a 69 Beetle Bug . I've already replaced the shift rod bushings and OMG its so tight like new , LOVE IT . Needs a whole new interior , Going to try my knowledge with the help of videos to install an adjustable front beam to lower a little . GREAT VIDEOS and Knowledge you have shared .
How much do you typically charge for a job like this?
