- We are on our way to our second water well drilling trip in Ethiopia. In this episode we travel from Houston to Dubai where we have an overnight stay. We explore the Burj Khalifa and other Dubai sights before hopping on another plane to Addis Ababa. Once there, we settle into the city and rest up before we make our journey down south.

Hey thanks man! I tried to make it feel like you were there. The sounds in Ethiopia are unique and that mics captures it well. It’s definitely tricky going from hiking to this type of video.

You could have flown direct Huston to Addis with Ethiopian Airlines.
Yes but there is still a stopover in Togo…plus we wanted to experience Dubai on the way. We just returned from another trip 3 weeks ago. This time we flew Turkish airlines and spent a few days in Istanbul.
How expensive are rooms in Dubai?
I actually do not know. This was a layover with Emirates and it’s included in your ticket. We even got upgraded to the business class hotel…JW Marriott Downtown. It was pretty incredible.

Yes! On certain days of the week they go 24/7. You get used to it after a while…
🤣🤣🤣🤣Well, that's the old rugged nation of Ethiopia..from early 3AM to 7AM, nobody basically needs a wake up alarm. But some folks are strange enough to ignore all the sounds and sleep dead.🔔👍👍
Haha! So true…I’m such a light sleeper that I hear it all. Even through my earplugs. It is a sound that I’ve learned to love though. It’s very welcoming every time we go.

I don't know why the churches in Ethiopia make so much no noise at night. Its not even part of christianity to shout nonsense all night. It disturbs people.
It’s definitely hard to get used to but I’ve learned to appreciate the beauty of it. There’s nothing like hearing the liturgy in Addis!
what do you mean it is not part of Christianity? Jesus said to preach the gospel which is what they are doing

@Appolo49 Im Ethiopia myself. its disturbing. They yell all night and prevent us from sleeping. Where is the respect for people?
