    I didn't watch the whole video so I'm sorry if I'm going to repeat something in this comment. So... I've been a motorcycle messenger year-round in Stockholm for many years. This is what I call tell you from the top of my head. Layer on layer. Merino wool. Even underwear and socks. Layer on layer is a must for socks so go for big boots so you can fit those socks and also plastic bags if needed to keep dry during days with rain from morning until evening. Even if you buy top of the line motorcycle gear, after a while they will ALWAYS leak water. You'll need a second layer on top of them. Rain gear. It's thin and doesn't take that much space in your luggage. Go for multiple buffs. Thicker ones around your neck, you don't want a strim of airflow to hit you there. It can lead to horrible stiffness. Smaller buffs can be used to tighten spots where the helmet and jacket don't connect. It's really nice and warm to have a buff inside the helmet if you can fit it there. Go for wool also this time, preferably merino. If you're really going to go for winter riding (sometimes -20) you'll want heated electric gear. Socks, inner pants, inner jacket, and inner gloves or protective motorcycle gloves. And one more thing, buy a pair of good muffs to protect your hands from wind and rain. It's a must. And I almost forgot, your boots should be taken care of. Bad weather often equals road salt and it wears your boots down real bad. Don't save money on your purchase, you'll regret it when water enters them at near 0 degrees. You'll want something without straps/buckles, those boots leak more often than not. I hope I've been of help to someone out there planning to ride in something else than perfect weather conditions. Take care and ride safe.

    Thank you very much for all your recommendations Lea. I've been driving motorcycle for almost 40 years and drive daily 8-9 month per year, and this in Stockholm Sweden in all weather conditions with temperatures down to just above zero degrees. Since 10 years back I drive a Kawasaki 1400GTR. Earlier I used to add an extra warm layer under the motorcycle jacket but the absolute best way to keep warm is to add an extra layer of water/wind protection over the motorcycle jacket. This is less bulky and you also keep the motorcycle jacket clean and dry. I have a standard North Face rain jacket (Resolve) and it works great. Not all has to be motorcycle gear.
    This give me two layer of water/wind protection which is perfect in cold conditions. The trick is to stop the wind as far away as possible from your body. I also used this when driving 4500km in Patagonia down to Ushuaia on a BMW F800GSA.

    The money we motorcyclists have to spend to keep safe, warm and dry oh and cool ! The right gear will enhance your motorcycle journey especially in extreme weather. The wrong or poor gear will break you.
    One of my favourites is a really old wind shirt I bought for hiking, I never leave home without it.

    I am a man with plenty of motorcycle experience and I have to say that you have made a fantastic video. The practical approach to the gear that you have chosen very clearly speaks to the simplicity of it all. It is a testament that not all gear needs to be motorcycle specific and cross dressing from other activities can be enough. I have really enjoyed watching your presentation very much and look forward to seeing more content. Subscribed, and safe journeys.

    I ride in temperatures ranging from 0 to 45 Deg C. I have a waterproof heated liner that I use in rain or cold. The liner goes under a Dainese Air Bag jacket that flows more air than any other jacket. I also have heated waterproof gloves. My Dainese boots are Gore-Tex. My Dainese pants have a Gore-Tex liner. I prefer a modular helmet and agree that Carbon is the best choice to keep the helmet as light as possible. I have a Schuberth C4 Pro Carbon helmet. The Dainese air bag jacket also includes elbow protectors and the pants include knee and chin protection. I prefer having temperature control from the motorcycle 12 Volt system rather than trying to layer. You have riden in Colorado. In the early morning temperatures can be close to freeziong and can get very warm in the afternoon.

    Hi Lea, great video, love the top tip re men’s boxers, who knew!! After some comfort issues on a long trip (no details required!) Kindest regards Jackie

    • @Got2Go
      @Got2Go  4 роки тому +1

      Those Motoskivees will be perfect too! Brand actually doesn’t matter so much, as long as you find a “sporty” fabric that suits you and go for a boxer cut (I came to the solution that I don’t like them if they are too tight like some sport or bicycle boxers are - the skivees look a bit like that. But that’s just personal taste). I as well Heard so many good things about thin merino boxer underwear - actually many people say that’s the best in heat and cold. I guess if I wouldn’t have that allergy I would like that too. Give it a try if you can! 😊 and let me know how the skivees are if you try them (actually I might just order one and do a motorcycle boxer underwear comparison at one point 😂😂😂)

You always provide us with the historical background of the places you visit and this has always been very informative for me as I am a bit of a history junkie. I have notice that you are gifted in extracting the beauty of the people and places you visit...a real global Ambassador. May God bless you and the 'Masked Man' for the support he gives to you to enable you to produce the magnificent content on your channel. It is great to see you reviewing riding gear...again well crafted. I would like to see you add the reviewing of motorcycles to your repertoire as you grow your channel. Layering is important. For me, a waterproof suit is too hot to ride in multi climates because they don’t breathe very well. I prefer to carry separate one-piece waterproof suit that goes over your regular riding gear. It takes only takes minutes to throw it on over your suit. This is useful for low temperatures, wind, and for rain. Carry spare gloves, and wear waterproof boots.

    • @Got2Go
      @Got2Go  4 роки тому +3

      I agree with you - this gear for me gets uncomfortable over 25 degrees. I know that some people ride Africa with that kind of gear - I have no clue how they not collapse from a heat stroke. I for that reason as well love the suit that I have in Africa, that is basically a mesh suit with a goretex shell you can put over. I bought this one now because I am as well riding a lot in Europe when the season starts and ends - it’s just super convenient to have this version that I can just put over if i know it’s cold and rains anyways all the days that I am traveling. 😁

    I was a courier for 30 years, a decent goretex touring jacket and ex army goretex trousers (with workman's kneepads) is a good combination if you layer up.
    Oxford comfy neck warmers are very versatile and if you wear a warm scarf you can cross it over your chest.
    Polish your boots regularly, polish leaves a waterproof wax coating that keeps water out.
    Handlebar muffs are essential but a pain.

    I have and use often a heated vest and a heated jacket. They plug into the bike, have a thermostatic control, and do a much better job than bulking up with lots of layers under my jacket.
    Wearing multiple layers can work but i find the bulk they bring is not comfortable. With the heated jacket or vest bulk is reduced and warmth is added. Keeping the core warm is the key to maintaining warmth throughout the rest of the body.

    I was surprised you didn't mention sports bras. Not for warmth but support off road. My wife always wears one if we ride off road. The other thing we always wear are a pair of cycling shorts. The chamois padding helps so much with comfort.

    • @Got2Go
      @Got2Go  4 роки тому +1

      I tried the cycling shorts too - but didn’t get along with them well, didn’t like it when going to toilet that they are so stiff 😂. I think I will make a video only about motorcycle underwear and everything I tried and that can help to be more comfortable at one point - I as well am ready to try even more different kind of underwear because I am so curious (I as well have been massively testing creams to calm down irritation if something really gets uncomfortable before I found the best setup for myself 😂). Sport bras is not my expertise though - I only wear long tight cotton shirts (as well for running), sometimes a Calvin Klein sports-bra (but that’s only cotton too and doesn’t support a lot). Never needed too much support in that area 😂.

    Great review, but I recommend including heated clothing. I have been riding since ‘72 in the U.S. but also Europe (stationed in Germany for seven years). Heated clothing ensures one stays warm at extreme temperatures, eliminates the need for multiple layers (I hate the stuffed turkey feeling), reduces amount of bulky clothing to pack and minimizes time and effort to layer up. With a Klim jacket and pants, I use Gerbing jacket and pants liners, gloves and socks. I also use the insulated pants with liner when I know it won’t rain for sub-freezing temperatures. I wear the heated gear over my LDComfort underwear, then Klim gear. Easy on and off! Thermostat provides temperature adjustment (stuck in traffic, riding in mountains, cold mornings that gradually warm up). No need for big, clunky boots. And no matter how many layers one wears, you will eventually get cold because you are just sitting on the bike. I have several balaclavas-my silk one is very comfortable and amazing effective. My only other comment: watch out out for black ice in Germany. Going to work on the autobahn at 80 mph at 0430, I thought the road looked strange, so I put my heels down and they just slid on ice. After getting off the autobahn, I slid through a stop sign at 40 mph.

    • @Got2Go
      @Got2Go  4 роки тому +1

      Thank you for this long and helpful comment! People now several times suggested the Gerbing gear - seems like I really missed out on something (even though for example on the Norway journey I probably would not have taken heated gear as it was only two days with temperatures around minus degrees celsius). Maybe I should make a video just for heated gear at one point! :)
      What I will stick to though is always my boots. That's for me an absolutly safety item - I don't know how many times these big clunky boots have saved my ankle from breaking when riding (and falling :) ) offroad.

    • @markmath2883
      @markmath2883 4 роки тому

      @@Got2Go thank you for your prompt reply. Sorry to infer your boots are clunky, I was referring to my heavy, insulated boots. When stationed in Germany, I wore Hein Gerich (sp) leathers (still have them), Army boots and Widder electric vest/chaps. Very different climate than here in Alabama where heat is an issue. Great riding in Europe, loved Germany though much has changed. Stationed in Bad Hersfeld 1980-1983 on the East/West border, then was there when the wall came down. Love riding! Have four bikes: Honda Valkyrie, BMW R1100RS and R1200RT, Triumph Bonneville T100.

    Great, independent review. Fiona and I are also a huge fan of the KLIM Artemis range (we like the bottoms too). I know you can't wear merino wool due to your allergy but if anyone else out there is wondering, ICEBREAKER is a great ethical brand and we have everything from women boxers, socks, underlayers, mid layers and even windbreakers from them. They only sell merino wool clothing and it comes in different thickness, so you can find everything from super light and extra breathable to something thicker to suit the conditions you wanna ride in. But as you said, it's always worth having a look into what we already have that can be mixed and matched :-)

    I completely endorse the merino wool and layering. I also use a Klim insulated glove which has a think layer on the bottom of the hand so they heated grips have maximum impact, insulated back of hand, and it has a high gauntlet which goes over my watch abd then I velcro my jacket over and never have to worry about rain ot cold wind going up and touching me. I also find that when approaching zero degrees, lots of thin layers isn't enough. I use a Rev'It insulated liner to create buffer between the cold and my innermost insulation. Also, in really cold weather my feet cannot stay warm and more layers makes the boots too tight so my feet can't move and that's not good for circulation. I use heated socks and plug them into my DIN adapter on the bike. I also use either a SweatVac to wick sweat away from me and from the helmet or a thin beanie for warmth. I prefer to use motorcycle neck warmers with some level of windproofing (I use Alpinestars). I also wear a wicking layer that has a turtleneck which is also helpful for stuffing the top of the jacket so wind doesn't get it and it provides a comfy layer under the neck warmer.

    I myself wear Klim Kodiak Jacket, Klim Badlands Pro Pants, also the Alpine Star Toucan, Touratech Aventuro Traveller Carbon for helmet and Held Score III gloves.
    But one thing someone has to mention: Those items are expensive. Gear like this sets you back about 3,5k €.
    That is some serious money.
    Add to that some high-quality underwear and socks made from e.g. Merino wool that will be another 250€.
    But I'm really happy with the stuff from Klim and can all-around recommend it. It really keeps the water out perfectly. The Toucans are just the most comfortable boots I have every worn and also waterproof.
    What I cannot recommend is my Held Score III gloves, those failed me during a 6h heavy rain ride... still looking for something better. Probably try out Klim Badlands GTX gloves.

    Nice gear review. Well done. Two additions I would suggest are a heated vest which can greatly extend the temperatures you can ride in, and using deer skin gloves. Deer skin is soft, comfortable, provides better tearing protection than cow hide, and wears like iron. I have over a 100,000 miles on my current pair. Hope you can safely get back to Africa soon. Love the videos. Thanks for your good work.

      that sounds like a great combination - and for sure better looking than all these textile Adv gear! 😒No matter what you wear: the main thing is the riding! When I started to ride a bike and did trip from Germany to Turkey I was completely unprepared - second hand clothes and a bag that was not waterproof (had 1 week rain straight 😂😂😂). You really don’t need expensive gear to riding a bike - but some of it can make your life a lot easier 😁. And yes, all the protection makes it restrictive - but when I crashed I always was soooo happy to have it. I feel meanwhile actually very uncomfortable if I ride just in a leather jacket or jeans. Nur ein paar kleine Tipps, schau bei der Unterwäsche nach Bambus Faser, ist mittlerweile deutlich angenehmer zu tragen als Merino (verträgst Du ja eh nicht 😇), hält auch länger durch ohne zu stinken und bekommt nicht so leicht Löcher wie Merino. Ich persönlich trage Boxer von Separatec, hier macht besonders auch die Pouch für Männer den großen Unterschied 😇😂.
    Wenn Du den Stiefel schon so oft getauscht hast, dann ist er aus meiner Sicht sein Geld nicht Wert, hier ist der Rev‘It Expedition H20 im speziellen zu nennen, der sieht nach 30.000 km immer noch aus wie neu (aber bitte den schwarzen, weil kein Leder), alleine schon wegen dem tollen Einhand Verschluss und dem Sprunggelenk Schutz. Garantie mäßig ist Rev’It absolut vorbildlich, wenn doch mal was sein sollte💫.
    Damit die Füße bei Dauerregen warm bleiben, sind zusätzlich zur Membran auf jeden Fall noch Regenüberschuhe sinnvoll, kannst Du gerne mal probieren, ist ein Wahnsinns Unterschied, weil der Kühlschrank Effekt unterbunden wird.
    Warum du den Klim Helm empfiehlst, kann ich nicht verstehen 🤷‍♂️. Der Visier Mechanismus macht viel Stress und die erste Raste ist zu grob um bei Regen nur nen winzigen Spalt zu öffnen. Einzig die automatische Abdunkelung des Visiers beim Pro und die gute Dämpfung im Vergleich zu Styropor kann ich hier als herausragenden gelten lassen. Bin auf das volle Review von Dir dazu gespannt💫.
    Handschuhe sollten natürlich auch deutlich länger halten als bei Dir 😇, Handinnenflächen aus 🦘 Leder sind da hilfreich. Wir haben jetzt zu Knox Handroid MK IV gewechselt (gibt es in kurz und lang), aber Held kann das natürlich auch. Lenkerstulpen sind hier auch sehr hilfreich, besonders wenn’s kalt und nass ist, dadurch kann man dünnere Handschuhe fahren, was wiederum den Fahrkomfort deutlich anhebt.
    Layering ist supi, aber man wird schnell zum Teddybären. Hier gilt es smart vorzugehen und auch nach beheizter Unterwäsche und Socken mit Steuerung über Smartphone APP Ausschau zu halten.
    Aus der Jacke nehme ich immer alle Protektoren, dadurch wird sie viel leichter und trägt sich locker ohne einzuengen. Stattdessen trage ich ein Kettenhemd, hier sitzen die Protektoren perfekt körpernah und verrutschen auch im Falle eines Sturzes nicht (ich habe die von Safe Max, alternativ geht auch die D30 von Rukka, oder Orthema, da sind alle Protektoren in einer leichten Jacke verbaut). Soll es noch universeller sein, dann die Knox Urbane Pro, weil die darf auch solo gefahren werden 😇, sehr nützlich, wenn es heiß wird unterwegs. Zum kühlen kann man auch die Rev’It Challenger Kühlweste drunter tragen.
    Könnte noch endlos schreiben, z.B. darüber ne U-Hose mit gutem Polster am Arsch und Protektoren zu tragen, die sind hier auch deutlich besser als in der GoreTex 3 Lagen Hose aufgehoben, weil wie oben erwähnt sehr viel bequemer zu tragen und im Fall der Fälle verrutscht da nichts 💫.
    Weiterhin Gute und sichere Fahrt Lea.
    Bin traurig das Du von der Triumph weg bist, T700 ist lustig und vom Gewicht her sinnvoll, das verstehe ich, aber von der Ergonomie und dem Komfort kein Vergleich. Die GS fährt sich toll, besonders wegen dem niederen Schwerpunkt im Gelände, aber das Getriebe ist immer noch zu klonkey, auch das Motorgeklappere und der fehlende Rundlauf bei 40 km/h im sechsten Gang gefallen mir weniger als beim Tiger.
    BG aus Muc 🍀
    * ich habe nen Companero World II, und nein, der ist keine Alternative zu der Kettenhemd Lösung von oben, man fühlt sich wie ein 🧸 damit, und der Rückenprotecktor zieht die Sommerjacke wie verrückt nach hinten/unten, sollte es kurz Regnen bist Du nass bis auf die Haut damit.
    Dreilagen Gore Jacke plus Kettenhemd (hat dann sogar nen Brustpanzer😇) ist sicher, dicht, leichtfüßig und sehr flexibel, besonders auch in Kombi mit Heizunterwäsche instant an Temperaturschwankungen anpassbar.
    Kommt die Jacke z.B. von Rev’It, kann die Brustlüftung sogar während der Fahrt geöffnet und geschlossen werden, da mit Magnetismus, kein Vergleich zum Companero, deshalb hat auch Touratech jetzt ne Kombi von Rev’It unter ihrem Label im Programm (Rambler) 😇
    Ja, die Companero sieht nach 50.000 km noch aus wie neu, aber die Reisverschlüsse sind ne Katastrophe in der Bedienung, das kann sogar Modekka deutlich besser als der Stadler 😇
    Auch das nachdenken über extra Knieprotektoren statt der integrierten in der Hose halte ich für sinnvoll, habe ich aber selbst noch nicht getestet 🍀

    • @Got2Go
      @Got2Go  3 роки тому

      Danke für deine Nachricht - aber genau wegen deiner Punkte sage ich im Video auch: kein Fahrer ist gleich, keine Ausrüstung passt gleich, was für den einen funktioniert geht für den anderen Nicht. Deswegen sind deine Tipps für manche sicher total hilfreich - ich habe allerdings inzwischen auch genug Erfahrung um zu wissen was mir passt und was ich mag und die lasse ich mir auch nicht abreden nur weil jemand eine andere Meinung hat 😊. Deine revit Schuhe oder die ganzen Tipps mit beheizter Unterwäsche etc sind gut - für mich aber ein absolutes Ausschlusskriterium da ich auf einer langen Reise nicht so viele Einzelteile mitnehmen will. Ich hasse alles was man nochmal drüber ziehen muss um Schuhe wasserdicht zu machen zum
      Beispiel, wenn ich beheizte Unterwäsche an drei Tagen einer 6 wöchigen Reise tragen würde, ist das auch nichts für mich. Stattdessen nehme ich lieber Schichten mit, die ich auch abseits des Motorrads anziehen kann, der windbreaker oder die lange Unterwäsche zum
      Beispiel ziehe ich auch immer in der Freizeit an - deswegen mag ich es gerne wenn meine Sachen nicht nur von Motorrad brands sind. Meine Schuhe haben ungefähr immer 100.000 Kilometer gehalten (hätten es auch noch länger gemacht, aber wenn ich auf eine neue lange Reise gehe fahre ich nicht mit einem paar Schuhe los, das vielleicht nur noch 30.000 Kilometer macht), ich finde das ist eine ganz gute Ausbeute - ein paar musste ich wegschmeißen weil es in der salzigen Luft bei der Lagerung in einem anderen Land gescchimmelt ist (wie auch alle anderen Klamotten die dabei waren, das war also nicht die Schuld des Schuhs). Mir ist jegliche Art von goretex Jacken zu warm wenn ich in Afrika Reise, das kommt also auch nicht in Frage - deswegen fahre ich dort den netzigen Teil des companero (der hat übrigens schon 150.000 Kilometer auf dem Buckel und ich hatte noch kein einziges Problem mit Reißverschlüssen oder das sich irgendwas verzieht. (Leider wurde er mir gerade beim Motorrad Transport gestohlen 😫😫😫) . Ich habe auch schon andere Marken ausprobiert, bin mit einem Protektoren Hemd und über Jacke gefahren etc - für mich war einfach nichts davon wirklich praktikabel oder besser als der companero (klar, sicherer vielleicht schon, aber das muss eben auch jeder selbst abwägen, die Grätsche zwischen Kompatibilität und Sicherheit). Wie ich aber oben schon geschrieben habe mag ich es nicht so viele Einzelteile zu haben - deswegen ist die Klim Jacke und die BMW Hose für mich einfach die bessere Lösung wenn ich weiß, dass ich viel kalten Regen erwarte - dass eben alles aus einem Guss ist und ich nicht noch was drüber oder drunter ziehen muss. Aber wie schon geschrieben, da gibt es 1000 Präferenzen - aber meine ist meine, und die Teile ich hier. 😊
      Und wie immer gilt das auch für Motorräder: jeder Fahrer ist anders und hat andere Ansprüche - und das Motorrad das passt, ist das, mit dem man sich wohl fühlt. Ich fühle mich mit der tenere einfach 100 Prozent wohler im schwierigeren Gelände als mit der Tiger - abgesehen davon, dass ich es liebe, dass sie so simpel ist. Und ich muss auch ehrlich gestehen, dass ich die bmw gs dann wiederum 100 Prozent gemütlicher finde auf europäischen Asphaltstraßen mit nur leichtem oder geringem Geländeeinsatz. Die triumph ist ein tolles Motorrad, das steht überhaupt nicht zur Debatte. Aber für mich persönlich ist die Tenere einfach ein besseres Reisemotorrad. Wenn jetzt jemand wahnsinnig gut darin ist im Sand oder tiefen Schlamm zu fahren, dann ist ihm das Mehrgewicht wahrscheinlich egal und hat dazu eine ganz andere Meinung und ein ganz anderes Motorrad das we gerne fährt. Für mich persönlich ist sie allerdings mein Wohlfühlmotorrad und das kann man nicht mit irgendwelchen Fakten oder Argumenten ausdiskutieren. 😉

      Genau wegen den vielen Lagen tendiere ich zum heizen, man bleibt wunderbar beweglich weil nur wenige Lagen notwendig sind 💫, die Heizweste kann man auch ganz normal tragen, ist damit universell zu nutzen. Kann das alles ggf nicht genau genug beschreiben, aber mein System haben schon einige kopiert und in Folge auch kapiert um was es mir geht, es macht wirklich den großen Unterschied, besonders bei wechselnden Verhältnissen, kaltem Regen💫
      Ich habe die Mopedunterwäsche nicht erwähnt, kühlt bei Hitze, wärmt bei Kälte und verhindert Scheuerstellen durch Nähte und Protektoren der Kombi (wir fahren die von Dainese, keine Ahnung welche Alternativen es hier gibt 🤷‍♂️), trocknet super schnell und läßt sich deshalb abends unter der Dusche noch schnell mit ausdrücken 💫
      Ja, der kleine Tiger ist kein Wurf Offroad, da hast Du recht, hatte ich aber erwähnt😇.
      Vermutlich ist die 790 Adventure ein guter Kompromiss aus beiden Welten 🤷‍♂️😇, aber Onroad schnurrt das Kätzchen wie kein anderes Moped für mich 🍀, wir brauchen auch nur 4 Liter und kommen 500 km mit einem Tank 💫, für mich ist ein Tempomat sehr wichtig, spart Strafgelder, und schont das rechte Handgelenk ungemein auf langen Touren und hier punktete beim Kauf der Tiger mit der besten Ausstattung, BMW hat hier erst jetzt aufgeholt.
      Die GS ist nicht umsonst so gut verkauft, bin selber 30 Jahre damit rumgegurkt 💫 bevor ich zum Tiger gekommen bin (hier aber nur der Kleine, der reicht völlig, bei der GS waren es die großen Modelle).
      Viel Spaß haben wir auch mit unserer Royal Enfield Himalayan, aber die steht ganzjährig in Indien😇, das Ding ist wie ein Traktor, der Motor bringt auch Anfänger durch jedes Gelände und enge Kurven. Verbrauch liegt dabei bei nur 3 Litern, mit Gepäck und Sozia.
      Alles Gute für Dich Lea 🍀🍀😁

      Not all expensive gear is worth it. its mostly name recognition. Same with helmets. Theres many low cost brands, you just need to do your research before buying. But one of the most important things is the gear properly fits your body and is snug

    Hi lea, brilliant video. Would love to do this someday myself, did some coast riding in Australia. You mind me asking you how much in total did this journey cost you as this would be my biggest concern

      Thats a very good question - I have actually no clue because we were two and didn’t sum it up - but it was for sure the most expensive journey because Scandinavia is just expensive and we as well didn’t camp because we were too cheap (stupid!) to buy new camping gear because all our things are still in Africa. Plus we stayed as well in some more „special“ places that were as well more expensive. Plus we had a few drinks every now and then. 😂

      @@seanviper99 Yes, it is, but we didnt do any planning for the scandinavia tour and just went as soon as the borders opened - but that's as well how you end up spending more money than needed. ;)

    Thanks for posting a great video...I myself ski as well as ride and agree 100% of crossover ski layering clothing to motorcycling. One problem I do have on the bike though is when it gets really cold I end up wearing some much layers I can hardly move..even with a heated vest on...head, neck, torso, arms, hands all hard to move with all the layers....do you have any thoughts on this problem ?

    • @Got2Go
      @Got2Go  4 роки тому

      Unfortunately didn’t find a solution to that either. As long as not doing hardcore off-road you just don’t move so much on a motorcycle - so you get so much more colder than on skis (when skiing I always wear a thin down jacket and a thin goretex shell, warm underwear and maybe a sweater - but I am always super warm because of moving so much). If I wear the same layers under my motorcycle gear I already can move harder because of the armored jacket and pants - it’s harder to layer under motorcycle gear and gets more stiff than under my thin skiing shells. So I guess it would maybe help if riding always in winter to get a jacket one size bigger so there is on general more space - but then of course it’s not so safe to ride it without the layers when it might be too loose.
      No, no solution unfortunately! 😒
      Can you recommend heated gear?

    Here in Norway, it’s to me, all about wool, inside my outer shell of Dainese.

      Yes, I only can’t wear it as a base layer due to my allergy. But I as well have always a cashmere sweater with me that I layer if it gets really cold (as well a thin down jacket - but didn’t have that on this trip because it’s in Africa 😁)

    why neck brace? have you consider an airbag maybe? Nice channel BTW

    • @Got2Go
      @Got2Go  3 роки тому +1

      I have to admit that I don’t know the airbag technology good enough to really judge - but given the fact that off-road I sometimes crash or fall off my bike in difficult sections I would really not like to have an airbag go off everytime I fall. It sounds good to me when riding road only - but not when traveling like I do.
