Yes, hands are locked around the chest. It's not illegal because we are neutral. In folkstyle, locking hands around the torso is only illegal in referee's position for the top man in control when the bottom man has at least one knee on the ground. In freestyle and Greco, the top man is allowed to lock hands around the torso in all situations.
So I have a question, I’m just starting out wrestling in high school, first time actually ever wrestling I was wondering if this move can be used in Folkstyle
Hi brother, Thank you so much for your videos, I've got a question for you. I want to learn Wrestling for self-defense, is it possible to learn it well from home, I bought a Dummy called BUBBA and I want to redo your videos, will I improve this way? Please help me because it is impossible for me to join a school since I have a bad injury in my arm I can only train with a dummy :(
To be honest, I, as someone who wrestles, wouldn't recommend it for self defense. That's really not what it's for. I'd say learn something with self defense as one of it's primary purposes, or something like BJJ.
If the opponent doesn't take the bait then you can switch to a front headlock and work him from there with a knee tap, shuck, short drag or a front headlock roll.
Cary Kolat i started freestyle not too long ago so in this position couldnt you trap and arm and the head and gator roll to get back exposure if i'm thinking correctly
Yes that would be a front headlock roll in freestyle. You can also throw him to his back with the full body lock by extending his arms and then hip him over.
Cary Kolat i wrestle for my high school also but my competition is much stronger than me but i've been wrestling for much longer. he just out muscles me so do you have any tips for that?
Btw can you recommend any takedown moves to me? I am a middle schooler and I dont want moves that are too hard. I want a move that works and is easy to set up. Thanks
Keep training dude. I did kickboxing as a kid and quit after getting blue belt, worst mistake I ever made. Never quit training, you've got potential kid.
This one is a really nice and tricky move - please more of this kind of clever and simple feints!
1:12 someones a little gassy
Gutural sound overall 😂
It’s the sweat and the mat rubbing against eatchother
We love the pancake technique Coach and on top of it Pitt Alum Drew Headlee makes an appearance...double thumbs up!
Where's Obi? :(
Ik it feels weird not seeing obe even though I’m relatively new to this channel I’ve seen pretty much no one but obe
1:03 he really smashed his partner in the face.
That's why he's only in one video
Ayyo
your posts always show a bunch of nice demonstrations.
Thank you for taking the time to make your videos. God bless.
Short and Sweet as always

🙏
Nice technique Cary 😎👌🏻
Awesome moves gona trybtp teach that in class this week
I can't wait to try this
I would do this if taking the back wasn't a thing. 😅 But it is good for getting side mount. Tho taking the back will always be King.
Hey, that’s what I was thinking!
Always like to hear the perspective of our BJJ friends.
awesome move cant wait to try it
I already new this I just didn't know the name.thanks bro
Sets up a nice arm triangle
0:27 hello I have a question 😁
When you’re on him, are your hands/fingers locked?
And if they are isn’t that illegal when y’all are both on the mat
Yes, hands are locked around the chest. It's not illegal because we are neutral. In folkstyle, locking hands around the torso is only illegal in referee's position for the top man in control when the bottom man has at least one knee on the ground. In freestyle and Greco, the top man is allowed to lock hands around the torso in all situations.
Cool.... nice trap for my oponent like this a lot....
I’ve had this happen to me before
thanks carry kolat
love this move @cary kolat
Would that be considered the ground variation of the clothesline takedown in pro-wrestling?
Could be!
Its also called the crusher but don’t release the arm won all my matches with this move
very nice
Thank you 🙏🏿 you helped out so much
Great video man!😊Wowzers! This looks super duperty hard!I could never do this!

Glad you found this!
So I have a question, I’m just starting out wrestling in high school, first time actually ever wrestling I was wondering if this move can be used in Folkstyle
Yes it can 😊

***** Hi dude, indeed I started BJJ 2 days after this comment :) Thanks for your kindness
Haha, good. All the sliding around on the ground in wrestling doesn't work so well on, say, asphalt. BJJ's good stuff, good luck.
***** Thanks bro, you too
***** and we slide less in bjj? Lol. I just assume that's a downfall of the art, I may get busted knees if I use it at Wal-Mart
I feel like this move is the quickest way to get a pin
1:04 ghatdamn, ain't that just about as bad a whiplash as you've ever seen? My neck would be thpinaled for just about ever!
Love it
it seems like this move only works if the bottom man knee slides out...what if your facing a less experienced opponent who doesn't know to knee slide?

Jin Lee haed and arm
Jin Lee double leg takedown, sit out, standup, navy ride, single leg sweep, high crotch and butcher.those will be good for you
