Man I wish we had UA-cam back in the early and mid 90s just so i could've learned this much in wrestling
The problem was back in the 80s when I used to do it the same thing exactly there wasn’t really any UA-cam and probably saw you guys weren’t even born or you were too little to even learn it. The thing is that was legal and 86 when I graduated from my school but I think in the 90s leave me that an illegal move because it’s called potentially dangerous

In high school you can do the same thing but instead of reaching back and grabbing it like a football, you just ring your inside leg in and scoop up a figure four and come across his hips with it and a cross face and get back points from it.
If anyone turns over from that, they are a fish.
@Tyler Wood You know how to put in a leg for a leg ride? You can either hook the calf/ankle with your foot; or figure four the leg. That means you put your own foot behind your other knee. Can you picture it? It forms a four. I think Anthony means you can figure four your opponent's leg from that foot lift. But to me man, this move is sketchy.
Illegal in hs folk style
very helpful in practice but once I did it in a duel meet and I I gathered the leg and went for the high step to the armpit I instantly got called for potentially dangerous. I won 15-6. with 9 backpoints total but with this move I know for sure I would have pinned him if I didn’t get called for potentially dangerous. and I’m in 120 weight class so it’s not hard to do the move
Zealous FR2 it’s good for 152 weight class too
If it's not illegal, it should be. I watched a state level wrestler have his junior season ended in the district semifinals this year with this move - tore his quad and one other muscle in his leg. I don't think the refs see this too often or ever at H.S. They didn't call it.
