    Hello Marcelo and thank you for the shout out. More importantly, I appreciate your expanding on the skin chemistry conversation. No matter what the answer this subject will always be as subjective as the fragrances themselves. An occasional FAQ addendum to your Mate Talks would be an interesting way to shake things up a bit...once or twice per month perhaps?

    Hi Marcelo, how are you doing 😃 I completely believe in skin chemistry. For one, look at Fragrantica, even a beast like Interlude. As of today more than 10% of the voters believe the sillage is moderate, 85% constitutes (strong+enormous). So it is pretty clear even for a perfume like Interlude where we expect 100% to vote for strong/enormous, there are differences (btw 5% voted as WEAK). Moreover, just like light, whose absorption depends on the surface and ultimately we see a color which is mix of all the unabsorbed colors, the same goes with perfumes. And another factor is, yes perspiration helps with musky scents, but if someone perspires overly, the perfume itself might get washed away, if it is not of oily consistency.

    Thank you for your "MATÉ TALK"! I am curiously following your enthusiasm, dedication and passion of yours for perfumes.
    Regarding the application of the fragrance, what do you think of Roja Dove's statements? See at 02:40. ua-cam.com/video/BNjRBiDaBhQ/v-deo.html
    Thank you!

      Awesome to connect Dimitris and thank you for your support 💫 I'm glad that you're enjoying this journey into all things perfumery.
      Thanks for connecting me to Roja's video and I will never challenge the Master! My recommendation is to take all these various points of advice and then test to see what is working best. I've been finding that things that work for others, don't work on me and vice versa.
      The other beauty is that perfume is such a personal form of expression that we can create our own personal ritual; so again take all the advice and then modify it to suit you.
      Curious to know your thoughts @dio2u, is there a particular method that works best for you?
      Great to connect my friend👊🏽

    Yes,I love Wednesday's...Marcelo thanks to you I am watching this episode with my matè in my hands for the first time truly🧉👍✨️
    I have to say, I totally underestimated the bitterness...oh my gosh..I am doing an excellent job with my facial expressions and my family is throughly entertained as I sip my matè 😅😂😅
    But,no going back now..I will now be joining you for Matè talk with my matè and hopefully my taste will improve each time I drink it..
    Thanks again for another great video and have a great week 🙂

      Boom Baby!!!💫🎉 Maté in the House!!!🧉🤩
      I'm glad that I warned you about the bitterness 😂 I'm hoping you put in a little bit of sugar like I mentioned, just to bring this back a little.
      My recommendation Mustafa is only to put one teaspoon at the start of the maté and then not again for the rest of your drinking session. This will get you use to the taste and then you'll find that you won't need the sugar anymore (otherwise if you drink it like my family back in Argentina, you're going to need 50kg of sugar every week😑)...without sugar is called "Gaucho Style" ( you want to be a 'Gaucho'😎💪🏽)
      Thanks for sharing Mustafa, awesome to know that there's another person now in the world also drinking maté with me during maté talk!!♥️

    I really enjoyed the skin chemistry video, and appreciate you expanding on it here. The hydration is critical, but also our warmth. My friend and I spray the same perfume at the same time and it would smell different on each of us. I feel musk is especially in that category. She would absolutely hate it on her, but love it on me!! Perfumes are so interesting! And congratulations on your "perfect perfume skin"!

    While the idea of pheremone perfumes is interesting humans dont have proper receptors for them, even if you could replicate a scent the the opposite sex would give off it wouldnt have a chemical effect on the body/mind of the person smelling it other than a psychosomatic effect.

    • @TheNicheFragranceCollector
      @TheNicheFragranceCollector  5 місяців тому +1

      I appreciate your comment Jacob and I totally agree. From the few articles that I've read about Humans and Pheremones; what you mentioned is exactly the point....we don't have receptors that can instantly pick up on these scents being released.
      I'm going to do a deep dive into this subject and prepare a Perfume FAQ to share with everyone...looking forward to the conversation that will occur!
      Awesome to hear from you @JacobSFeldman; thanks for jumping into the conversation💫

    Great Maté talk brother! 👊 Body chemistry is such an interesting concept, i wonder if hormone production has the ability to affect the scent profiles of fragrances on different people (re: your Clive Christian younger V older point) although maybe hard to scientifically quantify due to scent appreciation being such a personal interpretation 🤔
    I know I've mentioned it in another comment somewhere, but as a Type 1 (insulin dependent) diabetic, I find that just about any sweet fragrance on my skin becomes so overwhelmingly sweet that I need to wash it off and why I tend to gravitate towards more leather, woods, green, animalic, Chypre and fougere fragrances. Maybe this is due to the higher levels of glycated haemoglobins in my blood than the average person.
    Hopefully there is an Endocrinologist fragrance fan out there who is a member of the channel! It would be amazing to hear their thoughts on a live one day.
    Thanks again for all your hard work getting such awesome content out to us

    And about pheromones, here is my take... If this would exist, everybody scientist & perfumers had known already. Marketing marketing marketing. Those "pheromones" doesn't get more compliments our whatever... there is no magic trick imo

      Pheromones are odorless. They're not designed to be detected in scent. They're there to make you more attractive to the opposite sex on a subconscious level.
      I don't know if they work. You'd have to ask a scientist.

      Nah pheromones attract us to each other biologically, you can literally read that in Wikipedia with all its sources. It’s also what Marcello was talking about in the vid, the neck area he smells. But if you’re talking bout fragrances that claim to enhance the smell or your pheromones, I mean it could be true. I wouldn’t be surprised if your skin scent also includes a big part of your actual pheromones

    So excited for the live. Will see you there. I can only speak anecdotally re: skin chemistry but certainly there are scents that smell so different on me compared to friends or my Mom. Also the way the scents behave depending on heat. There are certain fragrances that come alive when it’s warmer and my skin is warmer or when I’m working out. Cumin smells awful on my skin 😞 and citrus can pull off as sour but not in a good way (unless it’s something like mandarin). Hope you are well Marcelo. 🌻🙏🏽😊

      @TheNicheFragranceCollector  5 місяців тому +1

      Ok, so this is where we now travel different roads 🙄 I'm going to say that 90% of the time I can detect a significant difference between the fragrance on blotter and my skin (not to mention the further evolution that I experience on skin versus the same spray on the blotter at a later time)
      For me it's a massive difference. Not sure if you're in Sydney @franceiroca? I'm doing a store meet up at the Libertine store on Saturday and it would be awesome to test this out in real time💫
