Absolutely. thats his gift, explaining concepts that the layman can understand. i went to see Michio Kaku a few years ago having read a couple of his books and felt the talk was directed at schoolchildren, he explained everything like he was talking to a bunch of school kids when in fact it was a hall full of adults who had most likely read his books, the best part of the night was when the audience got to ask questions. thats when the real in depth stuff got talked about. there were heaps of super smart people in the audience that were well educated and could grasp the concepts and got to the really indepth stuff and thats when it got interesting, if there had been no q&a from the audience it would have been boring as shit. Brian Cox has the gift of explaining stuff that we normals can understand without being treated like dumbos. He's by far the best at conveying these concepts in a way most people can grasp. And best of all you can tell he's completely absorbed ih his field, he clearly loves sharing his knowledge in a way normal folk can understand. seems to be devoid of ego, just full of wonder, I think he is fantastic,

So the teacher has to be the one to engage, that's what they should be paid to do..

Probably the best episode Joe has ever done - he’s engrossed and Brian could just go on and on as he’s enjoying to too. They get on very well. He loves his area of pursuit and communicating it in an appropriate manner for more universal understanding. He’s just a great educator and keeps it enlightening and engaging and fun. Top-drawer and classic JRE. Thank you Brian, you’re a legend

This is just my favorite quote:
    What more do you want?
The ingredients in our body were assembled in the hearts of long dead stars over billions of years.
And have assembled themselves spontaneously into temporary structures that can think and feel and explore.
And those structures will decay away at some point.
And in a very far future there will be no structures left.
So there we are, we exist in this very little window were we can observe this magnificent universe.
