Sometimes burning little threads with a lighter can leave a little discoloration or can damage the material you’re using I recommend using hemp wick witch you can light up and precisely burn off what you want. Its also used for other things 🌚

I highly recommend getting rid of the lighter and start using a thread burner. It lets you get in there closer without damaging the surrounding material. It leaves a nicer, cleaner, more professional look in my opinion. You won't ever go back to the lighter once you start using one. There are a few manufacturers out there.
