Rex, you're a lifesaver. I have scoured the net looking for a way to transfer crypto from one ledger device to the other. Believe it or not, you're probably the only person on youtube who explains this. Sometimes I feel really stupid because i just cannot get this stuff into my head but when I talk about it to my peers I realise that I'm not doing too bad. Not too many guys in their 60's getting into this area. I'm not super quick but I really feel that crypto will change our world. In 10 years we'll look back and say, "I told you so".
Its now September 2021 .... Are there any up dats to this please Rex?. I have Ledger live telling me my Led Nano X is full .... so I just bought a second Nano X so would love to get it right first time and move some of my Tokens from Nano X1 to Nano X2 .... just wanting to check there are no big changes to the content of this tube

Thank you so much! I have been waiting 3 days to hear from Ledger support team to explain why my new Ledger isn't showing on my Ledger live account. Now I can set up my 3rd Ledger Nano S and transfer XRP to all three Ledger Nano s devices. I can give them as gifts or store in a safe!!!! Thank you so much I subscribed to your channel and notifications are on.

Thanks Rex, I have learned so much from your video's. I appreciate all of the detail in your video's. I will try your tip on uninstalling apps on my ledger and then reloading them, since I am having the same problem you described.
Hi crypto dad question can you make another copy of the same ledger nano s on a second ledger nano s eg: have two ledgers with the same keys public and private basically have two ledger nanos the same?
Good Review,,,,, One Of The Main reason to have an extra ledger, is for the back-up of the original/s funds. Should you lose the original ledger, you can use your back-up ledger to move your funds quickly..... Note: If you can NOT add an app on the Ledger Nano S (i.e.: Any Ledger Device) and you think that you have enough room/space, check to see if you have new software Updates for ALL the Apps (Check the Update Number under the App in 'Manager', in Live & the 'About' in the Ledger Device) and they are actually Updated and the same as in the 'Manager' & 'About'. For Example; If you try to instal Didibyte Version 1.2.10 & your BTC has the old Version (1.2.09), it will not let you install the Digibyte App. You need to Un-Install, Re-Install and Update the BTC 1.2.10 first and then it will let you Install Digibyte 1.2.10 and it will also Refresh everything.
Great point . I was having an issue trying to reinstall My Vertcoin App . It must have been because my Bitcoin app had not been updated recently. That's actually a VERY good point because the Bitcoin app tends to stay on even when you're shuffling other apps on and off. (and many of the Altcoin apps depend on it) My little digression about removing ALL the apps and re-adding them in the manager is probably good practice every other month or so.
If you lose your original ledger nano you will not be able to use the backup device to send the funds out (?). Unless they are both set up with identical PINs and phrases. Perhaps the author of the video can verify this. He did require plugging in the original ledger during the video, so if you lose the original nano S ....... you are in trouble it seems. Perhaps a video can be produced on exactly how to setup a new nano S for use as a backup device in the event that the original one is lost / broken / etc. Personally I just bought one to use both as a backup device AND to spread APPS between the two devices. I am still researching how to do this. I believe I need the same PIN and phrases on this new one as I used on the original one.
a b , You can take a second ledger and restore it using the original 24 word recovery phrase and it will be a mirror image of the original ledger nano S (or a back up if you want to think of it that way). There is no requirement for you to use the exact same pin though. You can choose a completely different pin as long as you restored it from the same 24 word recovery phrase , it should still behave as the first ledger. You’ll have access to all of the same wallets. Because both Ledgers are using the exact 256 bit key.
Thank you for the speedy reply. Excellent. So if I did this (which sounds great for my redundancy solution), then I can spread my APPS between my two devices as there is not enough room on my original nano S. Therefore the only times I would need to swap nano S's is 1) to send/receive a coin that was on the other nano S, or 2) if one nano S broke or got lost. Then I could simply add/delete apps on the remaining usbable nano S to enable me to send/receive coins. Am I correct with this? Again many thanks for producing such fine reviews/instructions for a complex subject.
a b, Yes that is correct. You can distribute the apps. Or you can swap them on and off. Both Ledgers would have access to the same set of wallets. Basically that seed phrase is the English representation of a 256-bit base key. That is the key used to generate all of the wallets. When you do a restore. You put that same base key on a new ledger. That base key will regenerate the exact same set up private keys every time. So for each crypto currency you own that base key will generate the exact same wallet.

I know you can't literally "show" that step but you didn't mention it happened. When you bring in a new Ledger to an existing Ledger live doesn't it show you the 12 or 24 word seed phrase?
Good Morning Rex, I'm teaching my daughter how to buy and store crypto on Ledger Nano X. Question, can we use the same computer but have different accounts? I understand this video about setting up a second ledger, but what if there are two different owners using the same computer? Ledger is asking for the password at the Home Screen. Is there a way to set up two users within the same app or no?

Well assuming you set up a password to enter Ledger Live, they will need to crack that if they wanna get in and poke around. And all they will be able to do is look at your balance and transaction history. There's no way they'll be able to take any crypto out without the actual Ledger Nano S connected. The private keys for all of the accounts are not stored on the computer anywhere. They are only stored on the Ledger Nano S. Now I have heard that some repair shops are required to report child pornography if they discover it , but I don't think they are supposed to be cracking into people's Crypto currency accounts....
