Fixed the Chapter Time code issue 😇
How can I get to you to ask a question about phassphrase. A short version is about 2 years set phassphrase on one of my nano x. I got 3 of them and mixed up the ledgers. But I’m pretty sure never transferee the funds to phassphrase account. Couldn’t find out which nano the recovery an phassphrase were on. I finally found out which ledger had the accounts on. But it still says it’s not right recovery or phasse phrase. But when I added accounts it actually went to those accounts. I have all codes. I can’t move the funds. Any idea how to proceed
This is one reason I don’t recommend passphrases. It’s too easy to get things mixed up and lose access to your crypto. You say you have three ledgers and one pass phrase. So I’m assuming each ledger has 24 word recovery phrase so in essence, you have 3 24 word recovery phrases, and one passphrase. You’re just going to have to try them one at a time. My suggestion is to focus on one ledger, restore from a 24 word back up phrase, and then enter the passphrase and check your account. If it’s still telling you, it’s the wrong combination and move onto the next 24 word, recovery phrase, restore that to the ledger, and try the passphrase again if that doesn’t work, then try the third 24 word recovery phrase. And then enter the pass phrase you’re just going to have to try each combination until you find the right one to gain access to your passphrase protected account.
Ok. I have been doing that. If I set a passphrase but never moved the crypto from the recovery account to the Passphrase account. I don’t really need to apply or go thru passphrase? Is that correct? I’ve figured what ledger it’s on cause it wouldn’t connect to that account from any other ledger and 24 recovery phrase. So I think I got the ledger and 24 recovery phrase. And I think the 25 TH Passphrase is irrelevant since I never moved it into it from the 24 recovery it’s attach to. The other problem is I don’t have original desktop i set it up on. I do have the account the funds are in showing on my ipad. But the the ledger name it’s set to isn’t matching to any of the ledgers. But when I added it to the one I think funds are on because I added accounts to that one after 24 recovery it added it to that ledger account name. But funds wouldn’t send. And when I add to new ledger live it won’t add that name that the ledger’s name is under. But I’m sure it’s the same one that added it to iPad. But it just has name I set it to. But the ledger that I’m sure it is connected to pairs to the factory name the ledger is under now cause I haven’t renamed. But it connected to the name of accounts funds are in. None of other ledgers and 24 recovery did that when adding funds. I know it’s confusing.
Another thing which is confusing is that the coins are showing up in ledger live in iPad. But don’t have same desktop. So when I hook all them up it won’t pull up the name of that account. Im positive that it is the one that is pairing to 24 recovery and ledger that has factory name. But when I cleared out some of the other 3 ledgers that I set up and recovered like you told me. Because it was getting confusing. I still can’t get account that is in ledger live on iPad. But what I realized is when I added accounts to recovery code and ledger that hooked up to that funds account on ledger couldn’t be done when I erased all other ledgers I connected and couldn’t add acounts on iPad. I think it let me add them last time cause I added all the other ledger and 24 recovery phrases? I’m so confuse. How can I get ledger live of iPad on desktop?😊
@@devanthehairtech1 Yes it is confusing! First of all if you created a passphrase but did not move any crypto into that account, then you are right, it's irrelevant.
Also the device (computer/iPad/iPhone) is not important. You can install Ledger Live an any device and sync it to your Ledger Nano.

So if you have an account on an iPad and you cannot manage it with any of your devices, then you must have missed something. Systematically check each device, check if you have any other 24 word recovery phrases laying around that you may have overlooked.
If you have an account on a ledger device, you can rediscover it by using the techniques in the above video reference. Perhaps you will discover the account you are seeing on your iPad (which I believe you are telling me is inaccessible)

I tried this with xdc and the right number of coins shows up on ethereum but when I click on ethereum it doesn't show xdc like it does your shiba example. Hello! Can you help me?? How can I “start over”? I need to transfer the funds from one Ledger ( downloaded the latest firmware) and set up a new (currently unboxed/my backup) Ledger Nano X (planning not to download latest firmware).

@TheCryptoDad when you’re sending bitcoin to your device you mention that you don’t have to have device connected, correct? But does it have to be on? And does it matter if it’s connected to the computer when doing the transfer?

Hi I followed your videos for ledger nano x and was able to send my xrp and xlm from uphold to nano x but am confused how to send xdc? It said to download eth and then xdc but it sent my sample 50 tokens to eth? Not sending more even though it said successfully sent and received but xdc isn't listed under apps added just xrp, xlm and eth?
So if I want the app as well as the assets I have to connect it to my phone?

ledger live is showing *** for each of my crypto coins. tried restarting my P.C and clearing the cache and it did not fix the problem.

No, you don’t set up as new. Since your ledger is already configured, you choose the option that you already have a seed phrase, and then you go to the “connect ledger” option. Once you pass the genuine check, you can begin to start adding accounts. If you already have balances, they should show up.

Thank you very much for the video it is really useful however I am not sure how different type of token works i.e BEP20, BEP2, lets say I have some token in Binance smart chain , some Binance beacon chain and so in ERC20 in this case do i need to add separate wallets or it works in same wallet?
It is sort of the same wallet, because they are using the address of your Ledger device. But you will see the balances on different chains using different accounts. for ERC 20 use Ethereum wallets, for Binance Smart chain, go to accounts, and click the "add account" button chose to add a Binance Smart Chain(BNB) account. You will see your BEP20 tokens there. (notice the Ethereum wallet and the Binance Smart Chain wallet have the same address)
Greeting! How is the ledger turned off? Do you first turn off the ledger live application and then extract the ledger from the computer? Thanks for your reply!
You can yank it out at any time you want. It doesn’t really hurt anything. I never turn mine off. I just close it and put it on my desk. It will eventually power off on its own. You can hold both buttons down for a few seconds, and enter the command center. From there you can navigate over to “power off” if you really wanna manually turn it off.

You will NOT be able to read it in Ledger Live. It’s not supported in Ledger Live. That’s why they told you to use a third-party wallet.

The thing is, I'd like to send it back to Coinbase, I'm not sure what address, (blockchain), that I used. I have tried to use the addresses in my record, to no avail. Any ideas what I can dop? Don’t put on Coinbase! Exchanges will be wiped out!
@thecryptodad , how do you send something like USDC to the ledger using the polygon network? And how to send them back to the exchange?
You can install the Polygon App on your Ledger. Then go to Ledger Live and click the "add account" button in the top right of the account section. Choose to add a Polygon/Matic account. Once you have the account created, you can withdraw USDC in Polygon format to that address. In Coinbase make sure you switch networks when you are making your withdraw (send). In Binance.US choose the MATIC network when making your withdraw.
ALWAYS do a small test transaction before sending large amounts!

No, XDC is not an ERC20 token. And it is not supported on a Ledger Device

When you have to put the 6 number code in to send something do they send that number to you phone or your email.

If I swap BTC for USDC in my ledger live then swap it back, will that qualify in my taxes as a crypto wash? Is this too costly with fees to do it here? I hate sending it to an exchange with all that is going on with exchanges but I need the loss since I bought high.
Every sale or swap is a taxable event. Also when you use swap in Ledger live, you are still using 3rd party exchanges. You use Wyre or CIC. There is no way to "swap" crypto on blockchains without using 3rd parties. I personally trust Coinbase more that Wyre or CIC. Treat Exchanges like public bathrooms... do your business then get out quickly 😁

You won’t see VET in Ledger Live. Ledger live does not support VET. That is why you have to use a third-party wallet to manage it.

while I was in the middle of adding accounts on my brand new Nano X, a firmware update ny Ledger blocked the procedure. After this I had to type in my PIN ...after this I had expected to see at least those 5 accounts which I had already installed in the Manager and on Nano X. But they were all gone, I had to repeat the installation procedure...Now I am pretty scared whether this can actually happen when I have a couple of grant on the ledger, because the crypto would be in the accounts, right??
It is not a security concern. Every wallet that you create will be stored in the device no matter how many times you delete and re-install the apps.

Last August got a ledger nano x, put my coins on it. I keep everything private, one day I wake up my coins are missing from the nano ledger. Looks like moved to a wallet. Maybe it’s nothing and it will restore itself. It hasn’t
How do you connect the coin that not supported by Ledger Nano how do you transfer coins to Ledger ?
The best way is to use MetaMask.. Basically, you can connect your hardware device to the MetaMask wallet and manage coins that you can't see in ledger live.

This is going to sound like a silly question . When on your lap top , you set up your ledger input your words. I understand we download the app or website on Lap top . But with out our name & let’s say email , how does the web site know it’s me ? This question could sound silly or confusing . But you log in out your PIN number how does it make the connection from your laptop to device, that is you? On your lap top your not using blue tooth ?
The information about the wallet is transferred to the laptop through the USB cable. That is why you connect your device to the laptop using a USB cable.

Why would we copy the address of the various applications/wallets?
Copying and pasting is much more reliable than trying to type it in manually. You want to avoid any typos. You might get one character wrong and then send you crypto to the wrong place!

Hello CryptoDad, isn’t it true that once you transfer your coins out of Coinbase wallet into ledger, your crypto is no longer on the blockchain for investing ?
When you say investing, I'm assuming you're talking about trading. And yes, that is correct. When you move your crypto to cold storage, it is generally just to be stored. However, I'm not sure you're talking about Coinbase the centralized exchange or the Coinbase wallet. They are two different things. But in general that is correct. However, Ledger Live does have some swap and trade features built into the software. But these are generally considered 3rd party services and not really part of the wallet.

Ummmm any more info on how to get BT to connect? I mean, its not obvious. There is no option in my Nano X that says here is the link to setup BT. And my phone shows nothing nor does my computer on any locally attachable device. I think you just thought this was a no brainer but its not. Well, I'm pretty sure Bluetooth is enabled by default on the ledger Nano X. But if for some reason it's not, you can go into the command center. You access that by holding both buttons in for a few seconds. Once you're in there, there's a bluetooth menu item where you can enable or disable Bluetooth. And of course, on your phone, you're going to need to have Bluetooth enabled in order to make the connection. You can find the Bluetooth section in the settings app of your iphone.
@@CryptoDadYe well the last thing ill ever do is install another Google product on my PC such as Chrome. It seems the Nano X is only working with Chome at present time and no longer works with Firefox because they removed legacy code and no longer support it. This makes Ledger unable to connect to a Windows computer running Metamask. The other solution BRAVE, well that allows you to connect but you cant find the address in the list too connect too after you launch the connection, simply does not exist in the list and if it does and you try to sign requests it keeps asking you the same damn question over and over. So that doesnt work. Whats left is shitty* Chrome. And i wont run that. Time to put my new rotten Nano X up on Ebay for a sale. Im done with this company.
Can I store Shiba Inu on a separate account or do I have to put it under Ethereum?
SHIB is an ERC 20 token. It is stored in an Ethereum wallet.

Ledger Live does not support native AVAX. You can use your Ledger Device with MetaMask to do that. You will need to set up the Avalanche network in MetaMask to view your Avalance balance.

I’m trying to figure out how to move my assets from the ledger s to the x that’s on the same ledger live. The live currently shows both assets on both wallets. I’m paranoid that I will lose something. ALSO, what is the best cold wallet in your opinion? I’m thinking about keeping my non Bitcoin, XMR, Ether and BNB in another place. Well make sure the appropriate device is attached when you do the transfers. Go to the destination account first and verify the receiving address with the hardware check. Copy the receiving address into your clipboard and then go to the sending account and make the transfer out. Using this method you should be able to consolidate your assets in the Ledger X accounts
