- I have failed technical inspection with my Yamaha's exhaust being too loud so I've done several mods to the existing COBRA slip-on to make it more silent.
I've got it used with the bike and I believe it was already tampered with (no foam or mesh inside) although I'm not sure it should come stuffed, but some info on the internet on other COBRA slip-ons suggest it should...
Also I've tried to measure difference in dB with the phone app (did a research for the best one) but ALL of them do not measure more than 90dB rendering this whole graph thing useless :)

Hey , so I picked up a basically Brand new 2016 Yamaha stryker and I love it. I'm upgrading the stock exhaust with a Vanes and Hines Twin Slash Starraged Exhaust. I was wondering if I need a tune or something after installing the exhaust and if I do, what do I need. I need this done asap, because there's a big ride happening in my city and I need to be there with my bike, I'm their main photographer. I'm in canada BC by the way. Thanks.
If you stay with the stock intake - there's no need for a tune with just the exhaust change 🙂 have a good weekend and congrats on the purchase! 🤘
@geriaune thanks for answering. What if I change the stock air filter with a k&N filter. Do you think I should do the Ivan's Flash. I was told that with the new Exhaust, the bike may run lean and cause damage to the engine. The Exhaust will get hot and etc.
@@mohsinnasir7453 unless you change the box itself - you should be good. The stock ECU adjusts to slight air flow changes. Ivan's tune might help on some occasions, but I don't have it so cannot comment ;) p.s. don't overthink it - enjoy the bike. I ran mine through all Romania without proper cooling and it still lives 😂
