for anyone installing this exhaust just be mindful to check for leaks at the exhaust port where it meets the exhaust flange. I followed the vance and hines instructions which state to tighten the flange last but it would not create a good seal if done that way. I had to loosen the rest of the exhaust and tighten down the flange first to create a good seal then tighten the rest down. only had to do this for the shorter exhaust the other sealed fine.
gaddamn... and someone told me the V&H price wasn't worth it... bullshit!!! Great video! And that color man.... I am looking for a Stryker in camo green locally, they are HARD to find! Great bike!
I did change to Vance & Hines Twin Slash Staggered Exhaust 48501 from stock as you shown here. What is notice popping at deceleration and some missing while driving. What it could be the reason..
Every time i see a Stryker i start to drool!!! That will definitely be my Second Bike!!! And the Vance & Hines pipes Kills it!!! For lack of better words, FUCKING AWESOME!!!!!! 👍😎🇺🇸 RIDE HARD BROTHER!
Loved the format you used and how you showed the parts but didn't show yourself doing it all because I'm sure it didn't take 5 minutes haha. Would love to see more videos like this, I found it very helpful, thank you.
Hi, thank you very much for the installation video. Its very helpful, I have done the installation of V&H exhaust pipes by following your video. I have a difficulty in reconnecting the sensor to the jack. The harness length seems short and it doesn't reach the jack to which it has to be connected. Any suggestions, pls?
Thanks for the positive feedback. You've probably worked this issue out by now, however I vaguely recall having to reroute the cable (the end connected to the bike) in order for both ends to reach. It should be doable if it's the same bike. If not, you might need to rig up a longer cable.
2:59 my bolts stripped off when I went to try and remove them to replace the header gaskets. I'm thinking the only way to take em off is to remove the backing plate that the muffler mounts onto the body
Can you just swap the pipes and be done or do you have to tune anything on the motor or add a power commander after doing this? Buying a Stryker next year and one of the first things will be to swap the exhaust, wondering what I'll be getting into with this mod.
mvol5973 you don't need to (we didn't), but the bike can become jerky in the throttle response. A professional tune or power commander is recommended for the best results.
Great video, thanks for the info. Quick question. Does the exhaust come with gaskets for the head? I have about 1200 miles not sure if mine should be reused or not. And is there any power commander that you would recommend? Thanks again.
The package didn't come with new gaskets, though the price for a couple of official Yamaha ones are about 10 bucks each. I wouldn't worry with such low miles. I didn't install a power commander, but I hear the V&H is a good bet. I would recommend getting one, or at least a good tune once the pipes are installed.
man that sounds good. im stuck between a stryker and a vstar 1300, and i love the way your bike sounds with the new exhaust. where did you get yours from and how much did it run you. also, what did you use to wipe off the pipes before you started, brake cleaner? thanks for the video, looking forward to other mods
+Justin Chanona I personally prefer the Stryker style - more lean and mean! The pipes were easy to clean and just needed a damp cloth to wipe off any marks. I would definitely stay away from any harsh chemicals like brake cleaner. The bike and pipes were all purchased from a large retailer in Australia (you can see the name on the plates).
Hello, good tutorial, but what about the gaskets in the head pipes/ exhaust port? did you use the orginals or did you replace with new gaskets? thanks.
+Jordon Walter No I didn't, though my bike now runs fairly rich. I think it would be a good idea to install one, or at least get your bike tuned. That's probably where the issue is.
I wanted the Cobra's but after hearing this exhaust I think I changed my mind. My Stryker is the blacked out orange but I love your green one so much better and that exhaust sounds bad ass!!!! How is the turning now with the spacers in the pegs? Thanks for the video and beautiful bike!!!
I did not tune, but I would recommend a getting one done anyway. My bike definitely has more power, but at the cost of reduced/jerky throttle response. V&H make a Throttle Pack add-on to eliminate this problem.
pretty well edited video..makes it seem effortless. But the before & after is dramatically different, even @ idol. this makes the bike bad ass. how much was the pipes ? hope you used a torque wrench 😉
Carlo... always find myself banging my Knuckles against something or getting scratches on my parts but since I've been using the tape and gloves take my bike apart put it together no scratches and no knuckle bleeding.... lol
@@theterminator1419 Screw styling. The OG pipes sound like a sewing machine. I have a 2012 stryker, any pipes are better than the stock pipes. You'd understand if you had a metric cruiser.
Yes, I am wanting you to notice there is a motorcycle around you because I know you are more involved with your cell phone and don't want to get killed because you are incapable of paying attention when driving
I was looking at cobra swept pipes but this sounds 100x better!!
Looks and sounds much better.
What a bike mate

Good video mate. I just bought a Stryker last week and am loving it!!!!
Nice! Ride safe.
Yamaha Stryker is the best! I'm planning to upgrade to a taller touring windscreen so I could take even longer rides.
I did change to Vance & Hines Twin Slash Staggered Exhaust 48501 from stock as you shown here. What is notice popping at deceleration and some missing while driving. What it could be the reason..
I've watched this literally at least 100 times. I'm buying this exhaust this Friday!
decent pipes makes all the difference
Every time i see a Stryker i start to drool!!! That will definitely be my Second Bike!!! And the Vance & Hines pipes Kills it!!! For lack of better words, FUCKING AWESOME!!!!!! 👍😎🇺🇸 RIDE HARD BROTHER!
same here i have a vulcan s and vulcan 900 custom man i want a yamaha stryker warrior or raider next for sure
Fuck! I should've got this instead of the Cobra slip on
Waiting for ups to show up so I can put it on. Got the stock exhuast off.
Badass!!! Great video! thank you for proper camera views
Great video I bought that exhaust and video was very helpful hooking it all up sounds great thanks for the video
What was the torque specs for the mounting bracket, 3000 lbft? 🤣
'tight' 🤣
completely badass sound...

"Thanks for watching" he says.
No, thank you for the awesome video !!!
Great video! I have the exact bike, I'll change the exhaust for the vanes and hines... Now I know how... Thank you!
Great to hear! I recommend getting your bike tuned afterwards.
Thanks for your video which really helped me to install mine. Sometimes it was hard to understand as I'm a real newbie 😅
Each to their own this yamaha sounds cool we all ride two wheels lets stick together if we all rode the same bikes f..k that would be boring
This Exhaust is for the Looks ? Or for the Sounds ? Or performance ?
all of the above
wow that made a huuuge diff in sound i couldn't believe it!
2:59 my bolts stripped off when I went to try and remove them to replace the header gaskets. I'm thinking the only way to take em off is to remove the backing plate that the muffler mounts onto the body
Can I put these on my Yamaha ROADLINER ? If not , which ones that would be similar ?

Did you need a tune after putting these on? Have they given you any issues as well?

Do you need to have a power commander or ECU tune to run this exhaust, 2014 yamaha stryker.
McKade Waite nope!
You'll only need one after replacing the Air filter.
Hello, good tutorial, but what about the gaskets in the head pipes/ exhaust port? did you use the orginals or did you replace with new gaskets?
thanks.
Used the original gaskets as the bike was brand new and were in good condition. It is normally recommended to install new ones in though.
Very satisfying video, nice work
I don't want a Harley anymore lol hey the Raider or Stryker
J Dizzle go the Stryker. Looks meaner!
Harley
@@Mass313_ Sure, if you want something overpriced, overheats, and vibrates like a mfer, go for it.
Did you use a power commander on this bike after installing these pipes? Mine starts to stall a little when cruising.
+Jordon Walter No I didn't, though my bike now runs fairly rich. I think it would be a good idea to install one, or at least get your bike tuned. That's probably where the issue is.
Очень информативное видео и вывод просто КЛАСС!!!!

do you know the part number by any chance
Did you do any tuning? Or not necessary with stock air cleaner?
I did not tune, but I would recommend a getting one done anyway. My bike definitely has more power, but at the cost of reduced/jerky throttle response. V&H make a Throttle Pack add-on to eliminate this problem.
Was it tough getting to the front head to remove the pipe with out moving the radiator?
Andrew mittan a bit awkward but not impossible.
How many cc?
Its 1304cc or 80 cubic inch
sounds awesome
pretty well edited video..makes it seem effortless. But the before & after is dramatically different, even @ idol. this makes the bike bad ass. how much was the pipes ? hope you used a torque wrench 😉
Ahhhhhh... Yeah, torque wrench, sure :)
or where you bought it?
Those pipes make the neighbors happy?
Thankfully the bikes lives in a warehouse away from residential houses :) So no complaints yet.
Great job!
Cool. Thanks for sharing.
Good job...sounds good!!!
What cc is this engine. ?
1300cc
damn, makes me wanna switch from a slip on
Gloves & Tape Next Time......
Why tape??
Carlo... always find myself banging my Knuckles against something or getting scratches on my parts but since I've been using the tape and gloves take my bike apart put it together no scratches and no knuckle bleeding.... lol
Good call.
Your shoes untied.

V&H should be paying you guys for selling their product for them :). This video made me get mine. i.imgur.com/YYwwRe4.jpg
haha great idea. Nice job on the install.
The stocks pipes were better!
M. Noman in what way?
Mephisto Looks way better in styling. Do you still own that bike?
@@theterminator1419 Screw styling. The OG pipes sound like a sewing machine. I have a 2012 stryker, any pipes are better than the stock pipes. You'd understand if you had a metric cruiser.
Hey everybody! Look at me! Nothing else has worked. So I'm making loud, obnoxious noise to get you to notice me. Thank you. Now I am somebody.
Yes, I am wanting you to notice there is a motorcycle around you because I know you are more involved with your cell phone and don't want to get killed because you are incapable of paying attention when driving
Now people will hear him and won't hit him. WOW logic!
Loud pipes save lives! Great video
It's about the before and after.
So glad others schooled you so i didn't have to, bahaha. What a tool.
