- My first impressions of India, landing at Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji international airport in the Indian state of Maharashtra. As a foreigner, also known as a Videshi in Hindi, I walk on to the streets of Bombay in the Vile Parle area looking for a hotel and trying Indian food for the first time. Slowly the madness reveals itself and we begin our journey after not having slept for over 24h. Solo India travel begins and getting my first impressions of India.

This guy leaves the airport with a big smile and a boast of confidence where as myself would be completely the opposite because of past experience going to India 20 years ago! I wouldn't go unless accompanied with someone!!!

Oh yeah, for the first couple of weeks it was figuring out which direction to go first Was going north but decided on south since how I kept hearing about the cold in Delhi and the future heat in the south. Win win this way.

You are right. Mumbai was more expensive to stay but in south Goa I've managed to get an affordable room and it's been a good place to live humbly and start working on this new channel before I keep moving on.

Places to eat at in Mumbai:
1. Elco Pani puri - (area - Bandra west in Mumbai) -
*One of the best Pani puris in town. Very clean & hygienic. They use bottled mineral water to make these. So very safe to eat Pani Puris at this place.*
2. Sardar Pav Bhaaji - (area - Tardeo in Mumbai) -
*The best and the most buttery Paav Bhaaji on Planet Earth.*
3. Bade Miyan - Late night place - is open till 3 am or so (area - near Taj hotel & the Gate way of India in Mumbai)
*A late night place, patrons eat in their cars, but has a seating area as well. Famous for their wraps, Tikkas, Tandooris & barbecued stuff.*
4. Leopold Cafe (area - Colaba causeway in Mumbai) - *Nice beer, barbecues, nice desserts.*
5. Pancham Puriwala - (area - fort in Mumbai) - *5 types of puris(bread), savory dishes & desserts.*
6. Persian Darbar - (area - Bandra west in Mumbai)

The use of anise at the end of a meal takes away any lingering taste of whatever you've eaten and it's also a natural antacid so helpful when you've just eaten spicy food. My man was looking out for you. However you definitely ate too much I could see the bitterness coming though when you said 'herb' 😂 next time you eat something spicy that you know will cause digestion issues eat no more than 1/3 of a spoon and usually they have some small sweet candy next to it to mask the taste
