Hapless Rain Soaked Sunak Announces Doomed General Election

- Rishi Sunak surprised everyone by calling a General Election for July 4th instead of in the autumn as expected. This has caused anger amongst many Tory MPs.
A business providing accommodation for #asylumseekers made a pre-tax profit of £74.9 million in 2023. The owner is now worth £750 million.
Net #migration for 2023 was 685,000 only slightly down on the previous year and still way above pre #brexit levels.
Simon Case, the cabinet secretary gave evidence to the #covid19 enquiry describing the chaos at Downing St under #borisjohnson at the time of the pandemic and how Sunak went ahead with the virus spreading 'Eat Out To Help Out' scheme without seeking proper advice.
Paula Vennells, the former head of the #postoffice appeared before the Post Office enquiry.
Sunak announced the #generalelection2024 standing in the pouring rain in Downing Street
Sunak isn't stupid, as most people like to claim. Nor is he incompetent, as the myth goes. Sunak is a Tory, i.e., a Thatcherite with incurably malign intent towards the poor and the vulnerable, who believes in transferring public wealth ever upwards. That was always his goal in public life and he has achieved it with distinction. Nor do you have to take my word: watch the infamous video of him boasting to his wealthy constituents about having transferred money from deprived areas to theirs, and weep.
George Monbiot is right: we're a nation of altruists ruled by psychopaths.
Sunak may not be incompetent when it comes to filling his own pockets, but he's certainly been incompetent as PM. His job has been to represent the people of the UK and make sure that the country is properly managed from the highest public level...and he has failed catastrophically. I don't give a flying fig about the wealthy achieving their goals 'with distinction'...it is just about always at the expense of others...with such a fundamentally selfish ideology. There is nothing noble or praise-worthy about that whatsoever.
GARBAGE PROPAGANDA
Excellent
Hes drained the treasury dry, no need to stay any longer
Sunak got into politics to impress his wife and her family. Being prime minister was the cherry on the top.
The problem for Britain was he didn't care about the common man or the country itself. He didn't do it to serve the nation but satisfy his own narcissism.
ABSOLUTEMENT.
And to make good contacts which is why a lot of business people get into politics.
Everyone is looking too much into this.
As soon as he loses.
He will pack his bags and go back to the USA and be settled in time for his kids to start the new term year.
Let's consigne these corrupt bastards to history never to darken the doorsteps of British politics again.
It has to be the saddest sight of a PM at the Downing St lecturn ever seen; sodden rain soaked, depressed, and saying goodbye. Even worse than T May and Truss. But, totally sums up 14 years of Tory chaos.
Forgive me, but I feel no sympathy for a sociopath. He has a plan but hasn't the sense to check the weather or take a brolly.
He is simply hopeless at politics. As out of his depth as a non swimmer in 100 feet of water and a strong tide, flailing around whilst soiling himself. Pathetic.
@@davidmcculloch8490 I wonder if he did not think that remaining stoical under the deluge would not "send a powerful positive messgae". Alternatively, he might be so unpopular that nobody wanted to hold a brolly over his head. And if he was not unpopular with the other tories then, he will be now: they are furious he did not wait until the autumn.
Maybe Rishi wants to;
GET OUT
TO
HELP OUT
Had someone told me that Sunak was actually an Ai human facsimile I would not be surprised. Humourless, devoid of empathy, and lacking in the basic disposition of self awareness.
As for Johnson. He is often labelled as a pathological liar, which is true. In my opinion his other, equally fatal flaw is that he is lazy. Even his rhetoric is lazy, disjointed, and disarmingly vague.
Thankyou for trawling through all the crap that I have no patience for, and summing it up in a logical and honest manner. Please carry on and do not be put off by the idiot trolls. Again Michael, thankyou.
Thanks Russell 😊
ABSOLUTEMENT.
All the brave brexiteer hard men/women are stepping down before the destructive effects of Brexit are fully felt. Hopefully with nobody to defend it Starmer can unravel it.
He will have a mandate.

I think he choose now so he can re-locate in time for his kids starting their new term in California.
He'll have to buy another green card.
@@AM-fs1je I’m sure that between him and his wife that would be a struggle but they might just be able to scrape enough to do it.
Imagine coming in second place to liz truss for pm . If he wins his seat in Yorkshire,he will disappear very soon afterwards. California here I come .

@@ribz747😄 Nice song!
Things are so very bad, that even the formerly ambitious Michael Gove, who always wanted to be leader of the Tory Party, and Prime Minister, is actually quitting! All his old enthusiasm has gone out of the window! It’s amazing how many Tories are quitting, unwilling to stand as a candidate in the General Election. Thirteen years of misrule, utter incompetence on a grand scale, the Brexit catastrophe, the Covid pandemic and its associated scandals, and all the corrupt, nepotistic acts, have wrecked the Tory Party, totally ruining its reputation, and have brought the economy of Britain to its knees. Hopefully, sometime during the next, new Parliament, Britain will make moves towards bringing this country closer to the EU again, and we won’t continue to sink under the politics of ‘isolationism’. Thank you, Michael, for this interesting video, and I agree with your insightful analysis.
Thank you Gary 😊
We've had enough .
Michael, fraud of only £6 billion quid seems a relative bargain, when you compare it to the £37 billion quid lost through the Test N Trace debacle. Does anyone know where that went BTW? I suppose someone could start by asking Dido Harding.
,,dont forget the fake Ukraine 'war' ..where no one is dying or being hurt ..- where does all that money go ...?!!!!
Sunak has left Starmer with the Post Offie payments, Windrush, the blood scandal and Grenfell. This alone is going to take a massive amount of cash. Sunak knows he’s lost but he also knows that he has saddled Starmer with one hell of a headache. Nothing is working in the UK and Sunak is well aware of this. The Tories are waiting for Labour to fail and then we’ll have the Tories again. What a bluddy mess!
If I ever do get compensation for the contaminated blood the NHS poisoned me with, I'm off to New Zealand to live out my days. I will not spend a halfpenny of it in the UK.

I think you are spot on. He's given up. He got what he wanted. First PM of Indian heritage and a few handshakes with the King. He can tick that off now and see if he can dine off it in the USA. Good luck to him. The faster he leaves the better for all of us.
Good morning Michael rishi is just filling his own bottomless pocket
Tories and prison go together like strawberries🍓 and cream🐱
The people who make it to the top of the leadership pile are exactly the kind of people we don't want in charge of the country.
He accomplished more than his wildest dreams when he entered both #10 and the history books. He is aware that he has no governing skills, is repulsed by meeting voters, feart of being criticised. He’ll be off to America before the election. And you just said that as I typed 😂
Brilliant sarcasm, as always. You have to laugh, otherwise you would despair.😢
This is too true and applies far too often and too universally. We need more dry wit in Leftermost Canada. cheers
Michael is the master of sarcasm, i particularly enjoyed it when he said "Sunak's eat out to spread the virus scheme".....
Although I did not consider Sunak to be the stupidest PM (it has to be Truss), his visit to the Titanic museum in Belfast has to be the most idiotic timing by a Tory leader with a -22 % poll rating, before election! Reporters asked if he can save his sinking ship. His advisers may be asleep at the wheel or I have to revise my premise that Rishi was not the stupidest PM recently.
Asking a homeless man at a soup kitchen if he had anything nice planned for the weekend, is up there with it. And that was early on in his Premiership. The man is as thick as mince.
I think my decision to leave the country 22 years ago may have been a good one 👍

Thank you once again sir, I always look forward to hearing what you have to say, I see there are lots of rats leaving the sinking ship, I think Sunak will resign after the election, he will have everything in place to go to California, I am no fan of labour, however I feel for them as they have a horrendous mess to clean up, I live in Scotland and between Brexit and the Tory party we are badly damaged, Scotland wants independence, who can blame Scotland for wanting to be independent, not me, I think it will take decades to recover from the last 14 years also Brexit , if we ever do ,again thank you

When you say the worst Prime Minister who's ever been in no 10, but you seem to forget the previous 4 incumbents 😮 They were all appalling too, in different ways 😢
You say that Sunak is the person least suited to being PM, but you appear to be ignoring his immediate predecessor, Truss who was effectively removed from the position, and was the PM he replaced.
She was definitely less suited to the job than Sunak and she _still_ seems to believe that destroying the country’s economy would be a “Good Thing”. Admittedly she didn’t set the ‘suitability’ threshold very high…
Whatever the reason, we can be certain that it is entirely self-serving.
Everyone seems to have missed the date the election was called for: 4th July
The day of independence from the UK and the day Sunak will declare his "independence" and will sod off to sunny California.
A delicious irony... The 4th of July, Independents day! (USA) & from July 2024 will be Liberation day UK! I feel like occupied Europe must've felt when they heard that the Allies had landed in Normandy.
VERY GOOD...!!!
I love it, Liberation Day on 4 July😆😆
Well at least the Tories won't have any more time to do harm to disabled people..
Sunak was mixing with 'ordinary" people whilst campaigning last Thursday He was amongst a group of biscuit factory workers who for some reason were elated at his presence? And you could tell they were workers because they were wearing hi-vis vests....Except they weren't ordinary people or workers as they were being portrayed, they were actually strategically selected Tory councillors! 😂😂😂
Doesn't it turn your stomach just thinking about the corporate greed which the tories have allowed to thrive and actively fully encourage this. Enjoyed your video Michael, great exposure of what is happening.
Thanks Martin 😊
It might coincide with the US school enrollment.
Grate information as always! Michael

Thanks for this post Michael. I hope you're well and at least feeling relieved that we won't have to endure the Tory nightmare for much longer.

As to your idea of why Sunak is playing at, another UA-cam channel "Van Man Drives", echoed you well as both of you figure that Sunak is just throwing in the Towel. Can't hack it any longer - although he entered 2 contests for being PM and so at some point he wanted to be the Big Cheese. I just wish that the Gove, Leadsom brigade could be declared PNG and slung out of the UK prior to the Election.
Cheers Michael.

No confidence letters was increasing so Sunak could step down or jump to general election. Makes me laugh when people claim that party called the election for the country😂. If that was true once Boris was kicked out over lies we would have seen the general election then. This election was called because of leadership ego. I’m afraid Sunak ego will be crushed in the election and it’s not all his fault. 13 years of failure have left the country in a far worst mess than 2010. The fact no one talking about it is scary back in 2010 Dave campaign was all about how bad the country finances was.
You’re not wrong Michael :)
I think the award for the best performance during an election announcement speech should go jointly to both Mother Nature and Steve Bray. Well done to the pair of them. There was somebody else involved in the announcement, but I've forgotten his name for the moment...

In light of the upcoming, tangible, supply chain disaster that'll transpire through food shortages and even more inflation - Sunak's election announcement may well be a way to quickly exit in hopes of deflecting blame.
Thanks Michael ... another great video .... pretty good summing up ...

Can he up and off to California if he wins his seat though?
of course he can, he can resign his seat whenever he wants.
Sunak was the only true Brexiter ... all the others Cameron, May, Johnson not sure about Truss!!! Knew it would be a disaster for our Country!!! But Sunak wanted Brexit knowing full well that stopping workers from the EU ... would open the gateway of immigration from India to the UK. And that is/was his plan! Never known such duplicity in a Govt!!! Just to be seen as a hero for Indian and make more billions for himself and his in laws ... Our Politics is a DISGRACE!!!
The reason that the UK is in such a mess is that the Conservative party threw out all the brains. As you exemplify no brains lead to Brexit support.
That is true. The idiot in charge. He hasn't the faintest idea about Europe.cilture etc. ignorance is bliss. He met TWO EU leaders. Both FAR right, Melania and the very right-wing Austrian Chancellor.
Enough said. Ciao Rishi.
They have made it harder for immigration from pakistan and bangladesh. but they have not put in measures for indian immigrants. the covid policy was similar as well. Heavy restrictions from bangladesh and pakistan but lax restriction from india.
Priminiscule Shortpants was instructed by his Indian 'sugar daddy in law' to open an easy route from India, so that his 'overseas employment agency' can make additional profits from the UK
Yes, total disgrace. And on top Sunak is far right. During his tenure he has met two EU leaders personally. Meloni and Karl Nehammer. Both FAR right.
So we know where Sunak stands.
The job is only for his personal benefit.
Excellent reporting.

The ship is sinking, but not for a while, so the election is being held before it is obvious to everyone that the Tories sunk the ship.
In my opinion, Rishi Sunak is a man without depth. He is a man who has collected lots of money, but he hasn’t collected lots of experience, especially of life. His experience pool is shallow, especially because of the privileged life he has always led and because of the cocoon he has always lived in.
How can a person relate to the people he governs when he has no clue how they live, no clue how they must budget their money, no clue how many must eke out their scarce resources, just to make ends meet?
Conservative leaders in years gone by were not always like this. Thatcher, love her or hate her, did know what it was like to live an ordinary existence even though she married a millionaire and ended her life a very rich lady. The same can be said for John Major.
In my opinion, for a prime minister to be successful, it is imperative that he/she be able to relate to ordinary people and be able to empathise with them and their circumstances. Rishi Sunak cannot.
The Conservative Party has veered far from its pre-Thatcher _modus operandi_ and sadly to its own detriment and to the detriment of the nation.
As for why Sunak has called the election so soon, it may well be because he is terrified that things will get even worse in the months ahead. Just about all his political instincts and policy proposals are either exceedingly extravagant, or exceedingly illiberal, or exceedingly unworkable. Clearly, he has the Midas touch for his own finances, but for the nation’s finances were passed through a sieve. And as for political instincts, he has none.
👍 Agreed
It’s such a depressing picture.
Graham, an exemplar of disaster capitalism! The cementing together of business interests and politics into one, is the definition of fascism.
So true, the Labour Party as embraced Capitalism
Gove and Leadsome went today, and another 80 tories are expected to throw in the towel imminently. The Conservative party is dissolving before our very eyes, and they are doing it themselves!
How Sunak gets up and goes to work in the morning I don't know.
Don't worry globalist interests will be safe in Kid Starver's hands.

Sunak is hoping that voters will as usual fall for slogans rather than good policies in the public interest.
Have some respect for Dinner Ladies.
Sorry 😀
This date is domestically strategic (new school year & summer move across the pond); it is financially prudent (before the next krash), diplomatically shrewd as it gets him out of the geo-politic picture (before the explosion); and moreover it is also inwardly allowing him a fantastic measure of retribution against critics on either sides of the political divide. Finally it means he can greet Americans on Independence day!!!
Thanks Michael, enjoy the rest of the long weekend.
If anyone wants to know why the a tory turns up for work... why they choose a role/post.... or why they make announcements or make decisions.. the answer is always the same, and is always the same word....... money.
Nicely thought out, Michael. Yes, he just thought, to hell with it. I'm rich; I don't need this hassle. Better get over to the US before the schools start. Then, all the Tory rats left the ship. Oh, my God! How can I live without the gravy train? It just shows how much they all care about the people of the UK. It's a good job as Sunak describing Starmer as spineless was beginning to sound like Trump.
If the number of Tory MPs after the election has been reduced to single figures, it will be the only thing we have to thank Rishi Sunak for; and even then, the damp squib of a Prime Minister won't be able to take all the credit for it on his own - Johnson and Truss will have also played their part in it too.
Another excellent video Michael. Sunak is sunk
