After having my daughter I realized all of the propaganda I was raised with had given me an idea when I was young that motherhood was the rough, boring, tedious option in life and I'd rather do something "epic" like work for the CIA or be a trauma surgeon or a missionary overseas, but I'm realizing how epic it is to be a mother and live every day in pursuit of God's mission to raise a well rounded, grounded, faithful adult with love and protection and guidance all through their development. It's hard! But it's absolutely the most worthwhile and exciting thing ever. I'm still wondering about whether or not to do it again because of health issues but God will decide that for me. My one is SO educational and such a blessing!
@@TboneWTF Actually, my plan is to give my child/ren a very thorough education about the measurable things in this world and let them know that I can't prove God to them through science and math and that I'll always love them no matter what they believe but present to them the things that point to God as a Creator and as the Father as taught by Christianity that have helped me to feel confident and secure in my faith, AND to pray over them day and night that God would show Himself to them in their lives and protect and bless them and their children. I will teach the Bible along with other history, and when they're old enough allow discussions about why some people think it's literal here or there and some people think it's allegorical, and we will be involved with a church in order to fellowship but I will never encourage blind loyalty to church leadership, and I plan to study other faiths and traditions so that they understand how many other viewpoints have existed/still exist. Im so proud on the Orthodox Christianity becouse Orthodox churches never force other religions to become Christians or neither tried to wash brain to the prople to join Orthodox Christianity. If you like and wish to join that's beautiful and if you dont like and dont wish to become Orthodox Cristian thats absolutely fine and wish you all the best and God bless you ! 🙏❤️🍀
in a WOKE world this dude is terrific, what a champ! Gotta keep coming back to the cross and the narrow path reminds me of the quote: "How little people know who think holiness is dull when they meet the real thing it is irresistible." C S Lewis
Love much of what this priest is saying. I have the opposite story. Became a born again Christian and I’m walking with God. I grew up Orthodox. The way I see it is the Bible is true. I wanted to see what I was leaving and the more I researched Orthodoxy the more I cling to Christ alone and nothing else. It doesn’t matter how old you claim a church is it doesn’t make it true. Study church fathers and you will find so many differences. Some didn’t like icons and some did. Eventually icons became normalized. So does this make those early church fathers anathema?
I'm Colombian my grandparents on my mother side had 18 children, my grandparents on my Father side had 14 children, then neighter one of my Uncles had more than 4 children and finally my cousins are not having more than 2 children 😔
It is so interesting to watch the interview of an American Orthodox priest living in Russia. He looks very much like a typical Russian priest, only he speaks English. A very wise man, I am glad that there are such priests in the USA. Brothers, hold on to Christ, hold on to the Orthodox faith. Thank God for everything.
As a protestant i always curious about church history and orthodox is what i really wanna learn, but we live in archipelago country, with moslem majority, and orthodox church is quite hard to find in town, only in big cities... 😢
If you have access to internet, then you shouldn't have any obstacles in learning about the True Church history. My recommendations would be: "Finding the Church that JESUS built" a course of 9 lessons by father Ezdra, dating from 2001, and then find and listen "Sand and Stone" by fr. Josiah Trenham, and then a lot more but make sure it has the Orthodox origin. May GOD help you!
Read the Bible. Have a relationship with him. When you go deeper the spirit may lead you to that branch of faith. You will have a better understanding of Theology by repeatedly reading the Bible Then the catechism. "You nullify the word of God fornthe sake of tradition...." Tradition is great but the word is the final authority
Try one or more of the following options (It would be best if you could make it to follow all of them progressively) 1. Visit an Orthodox Church or Monastery, 2. Speak to an Orthodox Priest and ask for guidance, 3. Confess to an Orthodox Spiritual Father and receive the Holy Baptism, the grace of Jesus Christ and the Holy Communion. God bless you!
Orthodoxy is the first and the right form of Christianity, becoming the only officially accepted form of Christianity at the 451 AD Ecumenical Council of Chalcedon, under the patronage of Pope Leo I in Rome and empress Pulcheria, sister of emperor Theodosius and wife of emperor Marcian. Contrary to what many believe today Orthodoxy was synonymous with the Romans, while most ethnic Greeks were Monophysites, until 682 AD council of Constantinople, due to the fact that most former Monopysite Greek locations, like Alexandria and Antioch fell under the Arabs, and were already Islamized for decades. The former Roman lands left, still under Heraclid Greeks since 610 AD, were mostly inhabited by Orthodox Romans of Balkans and south Italy. Need to make it clear that in 610 AD after a year of siege the Roman Constantinople fell to Heraclid Greeks, leading a Berber mercenary army from north Africa and for the first time in 780 years of Latin Romanity the Heraclids changed the official language to Greek in 612 AD and then the official form of Christianity to Monophysicism. Until 682 AD change back from the officially Monophysite doctrine to Orthodoxy, between the Roman martyrs for Orthodoxy can count the Archbishop of Constantinople Flavian I, killed in 449 after the Council of Ephesus, at the hands of, ordered by the Monophysite Greek Patriarch Dioscorus of Alexandria. Council specifically held in Ephesus, to attract Flavian far from the Orthodox Constantinople or Rome. Since the Monophysite Heraclids declared Orthodoxy as unacceptable immediately after 610, in 653 AD Pope Martin I of Rome was imprisoned for promoting Orthodoxy and murdered without a judgement in Constantinople. And the last known martyr but not least, was one of the most famous and prolific Christian theologians, Maxim the Confessor, celebrated by both Orthodox and Catholic churches. Born in 592 as an Orthodox Roman in Constantinople Maximus the Confessor was accused of spreading Orthodoxy in the Exarchate of north Africa. Other charges raised against the theologian were high treason and assumingly hating Greeks. Goes famous in history his dialogue with the Greek judges in Constantinople, who asked him before sentence at the end "Why do you hate Greeks so much??" his answer was "Because I am a ROMAN by FAITH!" The sentence for the old Orthodox Roman theologian was hands, tongue, eyes and ears to be removed and to be exiled at the periphery in Georgia today, so he can never speak and write Orthodoxy teachings again. Obviously the old Maximus died soon after from so many wounds. Sounds weird today, in a Christianity divided between Byzantine Orthodoxy and Roman Catholicism, but dear brothers and sisters is only fair to know that since its inception and for centuries after to be a ROMAN equaled to be a LATIN speaking ORTHODOX. Popes in Rome implemented Orthodoxy, were Orthodox and gladly died for Orthodoxy.
Father Josiah Trenham, please put the translation into clear and correct Romanian! Because not everyone knows the American English language and plus there are also many Romanian Orthodox who follow you and do not know the American English language and we also want the testimony of your sanctification, how you passed from Protestantism to the true ORTHODOX faith, to strengthen us more in faith in Christ the Life!@😢
After graduating from the Calvinist Seminary and being received into the church with your wife, under the Omophorion of Metropolitan Philip Seliba, did you have to go to an Antochian seminary in order to enter the priesthood, right after you graduated from the first seminary?
Antioch has no Seminary in America. And the requirement is generally just for a Bachelors' Degree and some training in Divinity. Though this may change as the existing Orthodox Seminaries in America are falling into Scandal.
I am a Reformed Christian, I want to learn more about Eastern Orthodoxy, what are a few books out there that one would recommend on understanding Eastern Orthodoxy at a basic level?

Also if you are interested, there are several orthodox webs where you can get in contact and get more inspiration and knowledge. There are many, get forward my brother, May the Lord be with you !
Fr Seraphim Rose was the first(known at least)American to have adopted Orthodoxy and also study it in depth(as a scholar that he was by nature)and having the luck(not luck at all)to be next to the Holy man that his name was John Maximovich of san francisco no need for introduction here please research,it was impossible not to be touched by this holy man's holy personality,so he entered Orthodoxy and the results are known so far..Plz read his books read about Him He was a pillar and still is here in the United States but also influential all around the world..!!!

Слава Богу ❤☦️
Im so proud on the Orthodox Christianity becouse Orthodox churches never force other religions to become Christians or neither tried to wash brain to the prople to join Orthodox Christianity. If you like and wish to join that's beautiful and if you dont like and dont wish to become Orthodox Cristian thats absolutely fine and wish you all the best and God bless you ! 🙏❤️🍀
in a WOKE world this dude is terrific, what a champ! Gotta keep coming back to the cross and the narrow path reminds me of the quote:
"How little people know who think holiness is dull when they meet the real thing it is irresistible."
C S Lewis
Love much of what this priest is saying. I have the opposite story. Became a born again Christian and I’m walking with God. I grew up Orthodox. The way I see it is the Bible is true. I wanted to see what I was leaving and the more I researched Orthodoxy the more I cling to Christ alone and nothing else. It doesn’t matter how old you claim a church is it doesn’t make it true. Study church fathers and you will find so many differences. Some didn’t like icons and some did. Eventually icons became normalized. So does this make those early church fathers anathema?
Amen.
I'm Colombian my grandparents on my mother side had 18 children, my grandparents on my Father side had 14 children, then neighter one of my Uncles had more than 4 children and finally my cousins are not having more than 2 children 😔

Looks like Fr. Josiah Trenham has the spirit of Fr. John of Kronstadt
Orthodoxy everywhere. New Israel. Of jesus
I’m a Protestant teen, I want to be orthodox one day, but I can’t seem to study it, due to so much school and work, I don’t know what to do 🤷♂️
Just be patient, do what you can until you can visit an Orthodox church. That is the most important thing to do
Read the Bible. Have a relationship with him. When you go deeper the spirit may lead you to that branch of faith. You will have a better understanding of Theology by repeatedly reading the Bible Then the catechism.
"You nullify the word of God fornthe sake of tradition...."
Tradition is great but the word is the final authority
Pray and you will overcome all your issues in your life
Try one or more of the following options (It would be best if you could make it to follow all of them progressively) 1. Visit an Orthodox Church or Monastery, 2. Speak to an Orthodox Priest and ask for guidance, 3. Confess to an Orthodox Spiritual Father and receive the Holy Baptism, the grace of Jesus Christ and the Holy Communion. God bless you!

is there a way to contact this great man?
Catholic, to searching, to atheist, to contentment walking my own spiritual path.
Salvation begins when the Holy Spirits convicts us of our sin. Then He shows us Christ crucified for our sin.

Goes famous in history his dialogue with the Greek judges in Constantinople, who asked him before sentence at the end "Why do you hate Greeks so much??" his answer was "Because I am a ROMAN by FAITH!"
The sentence for the old Orthodox Roman theologian was hands, tongue, eyes and ears to be removed and to be exiled at the periphery in Georgia today, so he can never speak and write Orthodoxy teachings again.

Because not everyone knows the American English language and plus there are also many Romanian Orthodox who follow you and do not know the American English language and we also want the testimony of your sanctification, how you passed from Protestantism to the true ORTHODOX faith, to strengthen us more in faith in Christ the Life!@😢
10 is unbelievably amazing I pray to have at least one 5 years it’s been and not our time yet Lord knows better when… ❤
Praying for you in the name of the Father Son and Holy Spirit that you may be blessed with many children. It truly is the best gift.

Though he has a Ph.D all his formal education has been in Protestant schools.
@@acekoala457 How are they falling into scandal? I've heard only good things, personally
