Just in case anyone gets the idea to try wearing a weight vest or something for days, weeks, or months to get stronger, please don’t. It’s actually really really really bad for your joints long term. Just do regular weight lifting
Weighted training can work if you very slowly increase the weight and don't do it all the time though.

Spoiler alert Piccolo is not wearing weighted clothes he picked that trick up later after seeing Goku wear them and despite the weighted clothes it shows Tien progress that Goku needed to shed his weighted gear. The guide books are wrong tien power level is around the same as kid Goku when he defeated King Piccolo.

Yes but I also don't like that they used Tenshinhan for that. It basically makes him irrelevant from then on.
@@She-Devil94honestly it's more impressive how far Tien progressed because he went from being weaker than a character pre timeskip Goku could oneshot to being able to keep up with post timeskip Goku for a bit with his weights removed. And he didn't have to drink holy water to get to that level.
@@denickart That's actually true. Tenshinhan actually closed the gap a bit while theoretically having the inferior circumstances in training.

I love the introduction of the weighted clothes. It looks kind of satisfying, you know? The moment you take those off, it must feel like being lighter than air.
And it feels like a natural progression from his training with Roshi. Just that now it's a lot less noticeable than the big, bulky shell
I wear historically accurate armor for larp. So on a smaller scale I can confirm that taking the weight off actually makes you feel like a feather by comparison 😁

The weighted clothes is suposed to weight 40 kilograms. Thats nothing compared to episode 1 Goku throwing a tree high in the air. Thats actualy a bigger power feat than Goku walking at X10 earth gravity.

This is one of the best fights in DB and DBZ imo. The fluidity of the moves and the techniques is amazing and one of the traits of Goku comes at the end, when he gets serious he changes his face and he becomes a menace.

Goku must've been discualified here. He was throwing kicks with 40 kilos boots and wearong a 100 kilos shirt that obviously softned the punches that he recieved, that's illegal protection right there.
the shirt was 100 kilo which is 220 lbs, the hands and feat were 10 kilo each so 22 lbs each. That is ridiculous to move quickly with that much weight, also Piccolo does not use weighted clothes yet. Also you should continue on watching DBZ in Japanese with English subtitles if you have never seen that version, it is like a completely different show compared to the English version.
So Goku can only lift 400 pounds here, and yet he can destroy the moon. I guess ki and strength are seperate.
when you decide to watch GT, remember something, this is very important to one of the first episodes... Bulla is YOUNGER than pan... Bulla is 9 years old by the END of GT. just remember that, you'll realize it when it happens

To all you haters out there who say Goku is a dick in Super, try remembering this 11:34.
A couple points: notice how Goku didn't have to get a running start to get up to Tien Shinhan at the beginning of the fight, and the coconuts in the floaty added drag, making him have to swim harder to maintain pace. And yes, Oolong is a savage.

There's no point in showing the weighted clothes when that was the surprise and plus Goku had to get adjusted to the weight, part of that is adaptability
