that everybody judges us just because we are poor and for the simple reason that we are Moldoviens. I have a family now but with no kids yet.I wish that my children would be proud of their mother for what she is and from were she is. it²s not so easy to explain in some words all thouse feelings especially when you are far away from your country, parents, childhood, beautiful memories. I am conscious that i must fight for a better future. So, please... don't judge us just because we want to LIVE ...

@thegreendestiny You don't know ... At the beginning at the 20th century Romania was very prosperous - to suc extent that it was called "the grain barn of europe". Culture and literature flourished so much during that period of time that that age is called today in Romania "the golden age of the Romanian culture". The capital was so beautiful - and it was renouned for it wide boulevards - that it was called "The Paris of the East."

It saddens me to see young children without their parents, to me, we should be a world that is beyond that... but I guess we are not. Instead of bickering and insulting each other, we should all put our minds together and try to bring families back together, if not for us... for the children who wish they had their moms and dads with them, when they wake up and see the morning sun. That's what we should do, indeed.

This seem like a prime place where wealthier people could ensure their contributions would do alot of good. Schools, health clinics, education...even 10-15 $ a month would make a world of difference to these people who are trying to dig their way out of poverty. Also, what has changed since this film was made?

There's a region called Moldova, inside the borders of Romania, but there's also the state of Moldavia, which is a separate country. Of course, the reason Romanians "want" Moldavia is because in the past we were all united under one kingdom, but because of the Ottomans that failed.

Well established European countries dont have a such thing called "poor villages"
If Moldova wants to officially enter Europe it should start paving roads in villages like malayeshti and should provide help for those in need. But no, its all about the capital city in Moldova. Whatever village is far away from it, they dont care, the government just leaves the people to it, and thats a fact, theres no denying in that. Moldova should be poor-free.

@alea555 I just want to say that the Republic of Moldova is just a third of the territory of the historic province of Moldova. I think it's incorrect to refer to Republic of Moldova as simply Moldova, seeing that these are two different notions.
Needless to say, no one asks the moldovans in Romania what they think about it all.
So you can say that the Republic of Moldova doesn't belong to Romania, which is true, it's a country, but Moldova, the bigger part, the center part, is already Romania.

Actaully Ukraine's markets and economy is getting richer, it's only now that it's halted because of the world economic crisis, but when it stops Ukraine will continue to develope and since it is hosting Euro 2012, there will be higher tourism and greater international recognition with means Ukraine will get richer and could join EU, but atleast if Moldova unitied with Ukraine even for 1 or 2 years it's economy will get richer because it will trade wine and stuff with Ukraine.

But I guess since USSR ended and Moldova doesn't border Russia to join it, the only chance it has of improving its economy is by joining Ukraine and becoming one country with Ukraine, it's economy is growing higher at the momment and Ukraine will be much richer after hosting Euro 2012 with Poland so Moldova could join it and Ukraine can improve it once Moldova is part of Ukraine

It's not a problem, it just won't get you anywhere.
You can let the past go, people simply refuse to which is what keeping Moldova behind. If people will continually be nationalist and make rude and negative comments of you in public for speaking in Russian then the country will not get anywhere. People are too hostile to others because of their nationality in Moldova and you can't lie about that, that's the main problem in Moldova. The government itself is corrupt anyway.

@eulex10 Romania has regions: Oltenia, Transilvania,etc...now Moldova was a region too, but the Russians took it from us...sad story... Now the russians are blackmailing us, with the GAS, so we can`t get Moldova back.

What? There's a sovereign independent state called the Republic of Moldavia... who said anything about us Romanians wanting Moldavia? They have their right to sovereignty, and we didn't contest it.

I feel badly for the children. I don't blame the mother. She is just trying to survive. I blame the father. He is the alcoholic. My advice to all women - be careful who you marry.
