    "Don't fear the mud"...I have lived by these 4 words! It was fun watching this video. With a little effort you could become "Sir Splash A Lot" or better yet "Drum King". Remember, "Don't fear the mud and you will never lack mud for your turtle".

      🤣🤣🤣 I think I'm gonna go for drum master ish🤣🤣🤣 I wasn't 100% sure what you meant by you lived by those 4 words but the mud for your turtle reference really concreted it🤣🤣🤣. Thanks for watching!!!

    You stay drummie! 😜😂😂. Went to one of the county parks on the river last week, no good, but realized how much I forgot! Drove down 136 today and crossed the bridge in that little borough but couldn't figure out where to go. Anyway, you've motivated me to keep going, I still remember other places on the river, so I'm going to hit em. Thanks Ish for another great video!

    Def a tough river sometimes but the best practice when it gets tough and muddy is covering water. Or throwing bladed jigs lol. Great vid man. Keep it up!

    Nice. Who doesn’t love a good fight whether it is a smallmouth or a drum? I was able to get out today since Pike season opened up last weekend and used your 3/8 oz green pumpkin bladed jig. I got three nice pike on it by throwing it close to lily pads and retrieving it along the edge of the pads. The pike would come out and smash it. Great action and hooked up every fish that came after it. Great product Ish. Thanks!

      That's awesome!!! We don't have too many pike around here. I'm glad it's working for you!!! I'm definitely not leaving home without one of my bladed jigs with me, that's for sure! Thanks for the feedback. It's greatly appreciated!!!

    I've never caught a freshwater drum. I just like catching fish no mater what they are. I prefer chatterbaits/bladder jigs in off color water. I think the intense vibrations definitely help the fish locate it, then sight takes over. Sometimes I catch a nice fish 1st or 2nd cast, then struggle to catch more the rest of the day. A lot of nice fish that day.

      To me drum are a blast! Off color water may be the perfect way to explain when to use them! I rarely catch anything with them when the water is clear. I'm still learning the bladed jig, so maybe in the future I will find other ways to fish them! Thanks for watchin Chris!!!

    If I make it to a river these days, it's usually the Mon, and I don't mind a donkey-Drum. Bladed jig or twister tail and hold on!

    I fish the Allegheny and been killing drum on Ned’s and jigs I enjoy them they throw the hook less than smallies 😂

      @fishinwithish  Місяць тому

      Yes!!! Exactly!!! I have been saying that for a while now, whether it's because they don't jump, or maybe because their mouths are so gummy, but they rarely ever get off the hook!!! Thanks for watchin man!!!

    I live very near to the Mon and this is a well needed video. I’ve been watching the storms come through that just tear up the rivers and kind of leave me a bit hopeless as a fisherman, but this video gave me that kick I needed in my butt to get back out there and give it a shot. I’m going out today to a new spot on the river. Wish me luck! Also, I’ve heard good things about bladed jigs, but never had much luck myself. Maybe need to throw it more to give it the chance it deserves

    • @fishinwithish
      @fishinwithish  Місяць тому +1

      My best advice if you haven't thrown a bladed jig before is... use heavy line! I use a 20lb fluoro leader on 30lb braid. Bladed jigs are a very expensive lure and the heavier the line the better chance you have at getting them back! Since the water is muddy the fish won't care! I've actually thought about upping my line even more than 20 for this reason! 20 usually gets them back to me but still breaks sometimes! Thanks for watching, man. I wish you luck at your new spot, I hope you catch a giant!!!

    I've never caught one ,but see some giant drum where I live up here on the upper Allegheny system, they are actually the freshwater cousin of Redfish and have been told they are very tasty if brave enough to try

    • @fishinwithish
      @fishinwithish  Місяць тому +1

      I have actually eaten a drum before, and yes, it is quite tasty!!!! Honestly, I put it up there with walleye!!! Taste wise, I would rather eat a drum than a trout, BUT I see way too many drum with nasty stuff on them for me to want to regularly eat them🤣🤣🤣 Funny story... I once had my gf make me nuggets out of walleye that was 2 days old... and a smaller sized fresh drum I just came home with... and I said keep them separate but don't tell me which is which... I ate both n said the left is the walleye it tastes a little better, BUT they both taste great. She said nope the drum is on the left!!!!! I was SHOCKED!!!!

    Did not know drum went after artificial that is crazy. Also I need to try a bladed jig.

      I didn't either til last year, I have caught a lot at this point, usually on finesse baits, but apparently, they'll absolutely DESTROY bladed jigs!!! I really only use bladed jigs when it's high and muddy or throwing into the fast water in summer! As long as the water isn't crystal clear, I seem to do well with them! Thanks for watchin!!!

      @fishinwithish  Місяць тому

      Well for me I'd say I catch more fish when it's clear BUT generally speaking... my biggest fish usually come when it's muddy or at least semi muddy/murky like in this video.
