Hi hun, I didn't realize you're Mexican and speak Turkish very well. I respect that. I can't wait for my trip to Istanbul in May 2023. The food and shopping will be amazing. Thank you for sharing your experiences and love your videos.
Hi Bery, thanks for your informative videos. My husband and I are flying to Istanbul this week. I even started learning Turkish a month ago, and I could understand some words you were saying in this video😊 Tesekkur ederim!
We booked a Gate 1 Travel 13 day Turkish Treasures tour in May 2023. Cannot wait. Will be the first time in Turkey. Would love to travel on our own but going with the tour group may be a little easier for the first timers. We did look up some optional tours to add to the base package and they are usually very reasonably priced. Much cheaper than many optional programs in Mexico and Caribbean.
We visited Isatnbul in August this year. And, yes, I must say these fruit juice stands were one of the amazing and loved things by our entire family, followed by ice-creams and chay and coffee 😊 My favorite was pomegranate juice, kids loved cherry and orange and hubby grapefruit one. All soooo very yummy and a lot affordable than USA. Really wanna go again 😊
Turkey is amazing and I think that this bad economical crisis will be just a period and that everything will turn for the best, especially for the locals. Anyway with a dollar we can have a very substantial meal. Thank you for sharing this awesome video with us.
Went there in Sept 3rd week. Stayed in Aksaray and Sultanahmet areas. 1.5L water bottle was 6TL, max 7TL. A glass of fruit juice 40TL on street (for tourists). Istanbulkart was cheap for travelling. Public transport was so very good in Istanbul. The hotels were costly, still not bearable.
I love your videos! Best informative channel about Istanbul that I have found. I loved the part when you we trying to pronounce "haydari". So cute 😍 It reminded me a lot of myself when my friend is trying to teach me a Turkish word, and I just can't get what he is saying. 😂

Thank you 😊 I was surprised that you being Mexican, didn’t try the beans , instead of the chickpeas? May I recommend borek stuffed with meat. It is similar to chimichanga. 🇮🇶🇺🇸
Haaaaaaa Ok Make it for yourself and your husband. I don’t know if they have Mexican spices in Turkey 🇹🇷? Maybe your mom can send you some. In USA 🇺🇸 30 years ago. I had to learn how to make chimichanga, because I eat halal meats only.
Hi Bery I know you been busy for everything that is happening in Turkey. I had a question for you about changing dollars at the bazar better in Turkey or better take euros? Here in Miami they do not have turkish liras anywhere. Please help
As a Mexican, I feel safer here than in Mexico City especially in the public transportation. But also here one needs to keep an eye just as anywhere else in the world because things can also happen. Never leave your stuff out of your sight, put your valuable things in a place where no person can reach them out. Other than that, everything is fine :) enjoy!
Super nice…interesting I was in a tour in Turkey but never tried the dollar food lol…Here in New York there are not such prices for such food….Aca todo es caro, aunque si se sabe so lugares donde se come bien y no tan caro…saludos muy buenos vídeos…Quiero regresar a Turquia pero no en un tour te cargan muy a la carrera….
The cheese Borek was hard to find in the summer.. it was always sold out :( I really liked the Nutella simit though :) I know the price has gone up in TL… but in comparison is it still the same in £/$/€?
Actually börek is better early morning, at least before 11 am because is for breakfast so many people get it and is hard to find after that. Surprisingly the prices in usd/€/£ have stayed the same, yesterday I was editing a souvenir video for my Spanish channel that I shared last year on this channel and when I was updating the prices I was shocked because the prices in TL have doubled-tripled but in those foreign currencies even got a bit cheaper 🥹🥹🥹 And that’s for everything, for tourists there’s not much difference really maybe just in accommodation that has gotten more expensive but other than that was a win for tourists.
@@BeryIstanbulTips thank you… I really appreciate that… great for us from the west… unfortunately not great for the locals. The cheese borek in particular always seemed to be sold out. The thing is no1 seemed to be awake early in Istanbul (including my friends) so I’d eat Nutella simit n drink tea with the fisherman’s early in the morning (the days we had trips planned) with very little Turkish & a lot of google translate :). I’ll be back in the summer so I’ll keep a look out for accommodation… I got an excellent price for accommodation earlier this year… hopefully I can get something similar. Btw, is there any chance you can do a video on the new m11 line from the airport that’s going to open soon. Thanks
I’d like to ask you if you would advise someone to migrate to Turkey since you’re not from that country. How long would it take to learn the language and find comfort living there.
After watching the scam video, I feel discouraged to visit Istanbul which I already booked for next month (May 2023). Which restaurants near Karakoy (where we will stay) do you recommend to avoid the restaurant scams? Thanks.
Hi I love to watch ur video very informative but this price of food not for tourists I visit in July in turkey the price is different for tourist they are taking to much money and also like simit is 10 lira And many things I face very expensive price for tourists any way
If you only stay in the Sultanahmet or Taksim areas, then of course you’ll only get the high prices and even menus without prices. This video we recorded it on the Asian side of the city to show what the REAL local prices are. Soon we’re going to make another video comparing those prices to the touristy area which we already know are at least 3 times higher 😂
In January I am shifting to istanbul For my mba Could you please help me out by letting me know what are the essential elements I need to carry from my country Bangladesh Regards

When I was in Istanbul in 1970 , a dollar was worth 14TL.

Currently 1 usd is 19TL

The hotels in Turkey 🇹🇷 are expensive now
WHY?
The Russians and Ukrainians are in Turkey.
Because of the war.
