My Zady which is grandpa in Yiddish was off the coast of Normandy on the USS Woolsey DD439 Destroyer. So proud of him for being involved in D-Day. I am proud to be his granddaughter!
Yeah that was quite Kool! Thanks Allie and Rob for taking us along. I'm going to go look at your vids to see if you posted any others for some of these stops. I know this one was long but I want more! Lol
Four Questions: 1) How did you find time to do this? 2) How long did it take for you to do this trip? I noticed that you spent a full month in one location, although I don't remember where. 3) How much money did you budget for this trip and how close did you get to your budget? 4) WHEN did you take this trip? With all the unrest in the Middle East, I would be too fearful to embark on such a journey right now... Thanks!!
Thank you so much for this video. This is exactly what we are looking for. Videos that show us where you start and how long you stay in certain areas and where you move on from there that’s what we’re trying to navigate at the moment.
This is awesome, I was thinking of doing this exact thing once my son is off to college. Unfortunately my wife couldn't be less interested. 😢 Following vicariously
I liked the Amtrak's 50th Anniversary old and new Paint Scheme on the "Heritage Units" great. The 40th Anniversary "Heritage Units" are wrecked and scrapped beyond repair at the Beech Grove Shops outside Indianapolis.
Rail enthusiasts unite!😃 Fabulous editing, wondrous location photography and an epic 'round-the-world journey! I've watched this superb video compilation more than five times since you published it ... and I'm not done yet. Y'all are so inspirational to so many of us.🌎🌍🗼🗽🌏🌇🚆🌆🚄🌄🛤✈🌅⛴ 🛬⛩❤❤❤❤❤❤Thank you so much, Rob and Allie!!!👏👏👏
What a wonderful trip. I can't believe there is a train ferry. I never heard of it before. What a surprise to see trains on a ferry. That made my day. Safe travels and hope for more train trips in your future, they are my favorites.
Hi Allie & Rob, what a great time you both seemed to have on your around the world vacation by cruise and train. I'm not actually a cruise type girl, but I really enjoyed your pictures of where you went. My most favorite of the trips were in Switzerland, and Greece. OMG all I can say is WOW!!! Thank you so much for putting your vacations out here for all of us to enjoy!!!
What an incredible way to travel and see Europe. You gave me so many ideas. I want to pack and go now. Thanks so much for sharing. I’m curious. Do you still have to travel with masks in Europe?❤
There’s several of the train trips on your video I would like to take. This type of trip around the world is on my bucket list. Thank you for sharing. I plan to watch your other videos so I can see more of your trip.
I absolutely love love love this 'journey' video! I would love to do this too! Thank you for 'virtually' taking us along! Consider doing escorted guided tours? If yes, I'm in!! Much love from NYC!
It sounds like you do not wish to tell how much the trip would cost, in cash. Just keep us guessing. I would love to see a breakdown of each segment, listing number of nights, cabin type, and cost per person.
I really loved this video. But, there was so much footage in Europe, but little after that as you went thru the middle east and asia. I would have liked to see more of the latter. But, always love your videos, and this was an amazing trip.
im doing this over a years time since i cant fly and i want to spend time in each location ...thanks for the cruise info, was just starting to research how to do the ocean-travel
My parents did this, but with far more trains, about 10 years ago. I guess it's no longer quite as safe for Americans in Russia, though--the Siberian Express was a major part of their journey. IIRC, they did Beijing to somewhere in Russia, then Siberian Express to Moscow, then trains down through Poland to Germany, then to Portugal. They took a transatlantic cruise to Miami, then took Amtrak to Seattle (I think via D.C./Chicago?). Then two cruises, one from Seattle to Alaska, one from Alaska to Tokyo, then...ok, I've forgotten this part, but there was a cruise from Japan to China somehow, and back by train to Beijing.
I should add that they didn't do this all in one go--the long cruises were end-of-season repositioning cruises, so they had to do them at different seasons of the year. They live near Seattle, so that was a convenient break point, lol
This question pertains to the train car at the 29 minute mark (approx). With a shower that also has the toilet in it....if you've showered, and the floor is wet....and then you need to use the toilet a bit later, what do you do to keep your pants from not getting wet? I've seen these combo toilet/showers in campers and have always wondered.
I thought I could do this when I retire, for at least 2 years. But I am beginning to rethink that. I think I would get board and miss having my own home, my own bed, and just simply normalcy after a while - once the novelty of seeing different places wears off. I think I could definitely travel a few times a year. But I would prefer to have a place where I can go home to.. Our plan is to payoff our current home which has more than doubled what we bought it for, and purchase a new smaller home with 100% cash. That way we won't have a mortgage. It definitely would be cool to travel around the world like this. It looks like a fun adventure.
At Edinburgh Caledonian Sleeper passengers can use the LNER 1st class lounge from 2000 to 2300. At Glasgow departing passengers use the Avanti Lounge, and arriving passengers can use showers on Platforms 1 and 8- tokens from the on board host
I'm so excited to see this. This is what I want to do. Have you read Jeff Greenwalds " The size of the world" ? A zaney recount of his transglobal no fly experience. Happy Trails!
Why don’t you ever give us at least a thumbnail sketch of how much your trips cost? How can we even plan on duplicating the trips if we don’t know in advance how much we’re going to have to save up for? I can’t help thinking that these trips are sponsored, and that you don’t have to worry about the cost. I don’t mind that part, but you could give us an idea of about how much it would cost us.
Really enjoyed this as I love trains. But I would have liked tposee more about what it was like on the section of your cruises. And when did you travel? There are some horrendous things happening in some parts of the world now. All the best for your future journeys.
The Texas Eagle typically runs between San Antonio and Chicago. The California Zephyr runs LA to Chicago. Was this a special route? Been wanting to take the Amtrak from Denver to Chicago.
😮We stayed in the Phoenix hotel in DC.once on a weekend and 2nd time week day. The weekend cost was way much cheaper and larger room. The corner room is top notch. Mistake we made Uber from Amtrak station to Hotel. A block and 1/2 we felt taken and foolish.
They have a finance channel (Ground Life Finance) in which they break down their costs. They are really good at getting a lot of points through credit cards that they can convert into train trips and hotel stays. And those repositioning transoceanic cruises tend to be cheaper than traditional cruises
I wish the video was more descriptive and included the much information that is needed for people to make informed decisions about whether or not this is doable for them.
This is why I need to hit the lottery asap haha how the heck do you guys afford to do such things without worrying about everyday things? I dream of the life you're living.
Can you tell me exactly how many days this took? Can you also recommend a train trip from MN to somewhere and back again in like a week or weekend that would be worth it? Thanks for all your wonderful information.
May I ask how long this journey took and how much was your total cost? We’re retiring in a year and considering to do the same adventure but scared that we might not be able to afford it with our retirement budget.
🤩 this is how I would love to travel, thank you for letting me tag along virtually ❤
I've never seen anything like this before, and I'm so thankful to you for showing how it can be done! Robert in NYC.
My Zady which is grandpa in Yiddish was off the coast of Normandy on the USS Woolsey DD439 Destroyer. So proud of him for being involved in D-Day. I am proud to be his granddaughter!
We are proud of him too. I thank all who served in our military.
I never dreamed that you could the world without taking a flight. How cool, thanks a million for sharing.
Yeah that was quite Kool! Thanks Allie and Rob for taking us along. I'm going to go look at your vids to see if you posted any others for some of these stops. I know this one was long but I want more! Lol
What a fantastic trip! Thanks for taking us along!
Wow, Thank you. This shows the possibilities. Thank you for taking us along on your journey.
Amazing video thank you both for sharing
So funny to see everyone with their phones while getting on the Hello Kitty Train. So cool.
Thank you 😊 for taking me all around the world 🌍
The planning for this trip must have been epic
Four Questions:
1) How did you find time to do this?
2) How long did it take for you to do this trip? I noticed that you spent a full month in one location, although I don't remember where.
3) How much money did you budget for this trip and how close did you get to your budget?
4) WHEN did you take this trip? With all the unrest in the Middle East, I would be too fearful to embark on such a journey right now...
Thanks!!
Very good questions
would love to know all this also

Love the Italian trains and the cruise from Rome. Thank you
I can't pick a favorite. The whole experience was exceptional. The views and all the time spent in the different countries was so fun. Thank you.❤
I love the music you have in the video very calming and relaxing.
I liked the Amtrak's 50th Anniversary old and new Paint Scheme on the "Heritage Units" great. The 40th Anniversary "Heritage Units" are wrecked and scrapped beyond repair at the Beech Grove Shops outside Indianapolis.
What an epic video. As a train enthusiast this is my perfect video. I hope it was just as relaxing and fun as it looked
What an epic journey! Lucky ducks!

Thoroughly enjoyed it, thanks

Train on ferry in Italy is my favorite !!
This is a delightful vacation vlog‼️ I am truly a fan of this channel. 💯👏🏼
I imagine this was a hard video to edit. So much good footage. Hard decisions what to include. But what a marvelous experience, you two!
Beautiful ❤️❤️.
Fabulous from Paris to London to Italy to Switzerland to Eygpt to Japan...and stops in between....I got my eyeful 😊😊
Wow! Amazing

Wish I knew you guys were in Tokyo. I'm local here so I'd be thrilled to show you guys around town if you are ever in this neck of the woods again.
yeahhhhh this is a dream trip.....thatswhatsup.
It sounds like you do not wish to tell how much the trip would cost, in cash. Just keep us guessing.
I would love to see a breakdown of each segment, listing number of nights, cabin type, and cost per person.
I'd guess it's gotta add up to somewhere near 20K plus 😬 without rewards, credit cards, sponsorship, points, and even more frequent travel perks.
@@CGSevenxPhoto Where do I sign up? I wanna go.
Thank You for sharing this trip ,, I really enjoy your channel ❤️
Love this recap of your around the world by train and cruisers! Do you not like flying? Never heard you talk about that?
I really loved this video. But, there was so much footage in Europe, but little after that as you went thru the middle east and asia. I would have liked to see more of the latter. But, always love your videos, and this was an amazing trip.
Great video I would love to do this one day
Wow this would be my dream trip..only problem is $$$$$.....lol...

Did you book your trains ahead of time, or did you get them "last minute"? How much luggage did you take? Can you give us a list of stuff?

@@dazlebluefrogify agree. They used points to offset cost.

Will you please check the Amtrak's Flexible and Traditional Dining including Cafe Menus only at the Sightseer Lounge Car?
Awesome video
I'm learning quite a bit from this video. Thanks for all the information provided. How do you guys plan in advance for a trip like this?

I thought the California Zephyr was the longest ride. I will try another long distance ride next year.
Amazing
What an amazing trip! How many days was it from start to finish?
This is a fabulous idea! How long did this trip take?
Really enjoyed this as I love trains. But I would have liked tposee more about what it was like on the section of your cruises. And when did you travel? There are some horrendous things happening in some parts of the world now. All the best for your future journeys.

A video like this is too good to not have time stamps and also pricings.

I had no idea, this was possible.
How do you organize and book all your travels. Do you use a app to keep everything in
Nice trip I enjoyed the sites and scenery. The ending was a bit anti-climatic though.
How did you get from Dubai to Singapore?
Can you get the bedroom on the Eagle with points?
Allie sure is pretty.
HOW MUCH DO ALL OF THIS COST THOUGH ???????

How much time did you all take to make this fabulous trip?
Your pronunciation of Glasgow makes me die inside every time I hear it
Do you recommend purchasing train tickets in advance in Italy?
I wish the video was more descriptive and included the much information that is needed for people to make informed decisions about whether or not this is doable for them.
This is why I need to hit the lottery asap haha how the heck do you guys afford to do such things without worrying about everyday things? I dream of the life you're living.
Nice
How would one go about planning and researching the trains? hugs
Do the roomette seats recline?
What an amazing trip! What kind of resources did you use to decide where to go and how to get there?
I would love to have the trip plan so I can print it out
Can you tell me exactly how many days this took? Can you also recommend a train trip from MN to somewhere and back again in like a week or weekend that would be worth it? Thanks for all your wonderful information.
The Caledonian Sleeper food did not look very good considering the class. Huh!
Love the video! Just wondering why you went from the south of England to France and then back to England to head to Scotland?
I may have gotten myself confused as you then return to London - can anyone help me see what I missed? haha
May I ask how long this journey took and how much was your total cost? We’re retiring in a year and considering to do the same adventure but scared that we might not be able to afford it with our retirement budget.
Looks like its impossible to go low carb on these trains. I need more meat and less bread 🍞 and pasta (paste). Even more veg would be nice.
