Good evening everyone! Hope you’re all having a fab Sunday…Welcome or welcome back to my favourite day of the week on the channel….this weeks meals of the week 🥰 I hope you’ve all had a good week! I’ll join you down in the comments for a wee while xxx
Looks perfect for couples or singles to celebrate Christmas without having to spend loads of cash on a restaurant meal. We’re all feeling the pinch this festive season and this sounds like the perfect solution. 👍🏻
I had to come watch gain. I had the Turkey Baguette as a late supper last night. We had Mince last week too! That air fryer is really nice. I make Fish Finger Sandwiches.
Cheryl, it's not at all sad that you skipped your way home knowing there was good food on the table. If everyone had that, what a wonderful world this would be. I watched one of your earlier videos recently and it's so lovely that your confidence has grown and you're obviously so very comfortable talking to us through your videos, almost as if we were all right there with you, all 170,000 of us! Thank you for another wonderful Sunday treat. Susan in Upstate NY xx
Thanks for sharing this. Everything looks delicious (as always). I love your creativity in being able to take the core foods you both enjoy and give them a simply twist to make it new and exciting.
What a delicious week. I paused on the Saturday meal, when I saw that soup I had to make it and I mean immediately haha, I had all the ingredients except for the swede so I just used extra potato, it was one of the best soups I have ever eaten, my husband said he could eat this a couple times a week, thank you so much Cheryl, what a gift you are to us!
I’m in England and we always have chips and salad with our lasagne (and often garlic bread too). So good! Lovely meals as always. I fancy a go at that soup next week, it looked so nourishing. Xx
@@sandrascott8650I’m so glad you commented this. I had never tried cheese coleslaw before, but I spotted some in Lidl yesterday, and thought of this comment. Had some with lasagne and chips last night and oh my gosh…. That is a great combination!!
Cheryl, all looked lovely especially the Air Fryer Christmas Dinner, can't wait for the recipe, and I love the idea of the quick and easy fish pie, and I'd never thought of making buttery cabbage. Cheryl top marks for this week! 🙂😋❤
That opening folksy music instantly relaxes me😌Then it just gets better with your lovely accent and all the yummy meals! Love your Sunday videos❤Have a great week!
Chips with lasagne just like chips with macaroni cheese seems to be a Scottish thing. I lived in England for over a decade and don’t recall seeing the chips combo on menus when I was out.
Hi Cheryl, the airfryer meal looks fab❤. Curry sauce on chips❤❤❤. I enjoy fish fingers in warm pita bread halves with shredded lettuce and mayo. Take care Gale
1:20 That lovely statesman type platter deserved the slow rotate of dignity there Cheryl and roasting your sprouts brings out a delicious flavour from them too
Christmas Dinner!! Now, I wasn't expecting that! 😆 Some great dishes, as always, Cheryl. I must admit, I had a roll and fish fingers on Friday evening & d'you know what? It was absolutely delicious!
My first real job was as an apprentice chef in an Italian restaurant. The lasagna was always cooked in advance and keep in its extra large baking dish cut up. The servings were then reheated for serving. There was always a note of the menu to expect to wait at least 20 minutes if you ordered it. I think folks thought it was for the prep but it was really just the reheat time.
Well, it's pretty much impossible to make a tray of lasagna from scratch for restaurant service times so this is generally the standard way to handle pick up at service. This works well for places that go through a lot of lasagna, but if it's one item in a giant menu, be prepared to be served some old food.
Mince and tatties is comfort food. Mom made that for us as we grew up n the 50s & 60s. I didn’t know it had a name then. Mom was a baby when her Scots grandparents passed, so she never knew them. My Aunt said her Grandmother was homesick for Scotland. She was never able to return to her homeland.. Somewhere in a box, I have the titles to songs my Aunt told me she would sing. I’ll have to dig it out.
Lovely meals Cheryl. I love soup just had a look at your lentil soup recipe, think I have everything for it as know I've got a pack of lentils in the cupboard, not got a swede tho but got potatoes so I might make a pan of this & freeze some. I love gish finger sandwiches & thise fish fingers looked top notch. Good idea that Xmas dinner in the air fryer but my air fryer just not big enough , mine is 4 years Old so I do want a new 1 with the bigger capacity & the sync function. Just waiting for mine to conk out !!!
I made lasagne using your recipe a few weeks back, and it was delicious. I remember growing up and having fish fingers. Miss them as I live in the States where you can't buy them. Thanks for the recipes. ♥
Fish fingers are called fish sticks in the US,Mrs Paul’s does them, and so does Gortons,I imagine most supermarkets have them,Target does,Instacart can get them for you.😊
Great video! I love lasagna that is extra saucy. It can spread all over my plate and I don't care as it's that good. We serve ours with salad and garlic bread, every time. My favorite comfort meal is pinto beans, fried potatoes and cornbread.
Cheryl do you Skip down the Road these days with Mice & Tattys lol just a thought ??? & Excuse me Chicken Curry & Chips wheres me invite again lol till next week so look forward to 6pm Sundays thanks for the ideas keep up good work pal xx
I’ve had an air fryer for months now , but it doesn’t matter how much air I put in , when it’s done there’s nothing in pan . What am I doing wrong ? Haha .
I always have garlic toast/bread with pasta dishes here in the USA. No one I know does pasta with chips (or French fries) as we know them, but I'm totally down with it if I were offered it! You can never have too many carbs 😋
Delicious! That air fryer meals looks super! Pigs in Blankets here in USA are more like sausage rolls--those look like sausages wrapped in bacon which would be heavenly!
I see mince'n'tattie - I click thumbs up! :-) I discovered recently there is a "mince'n'tatties' (kinda) dish from Hong Kong that I need to try. Basically mince (with soy/ginger/oyster sauce, rice instead of the tatties) and a fried egg ontop. Made me wonder if it was a leftover from Scottish soldiers or had existed all along.
Yummy. Every day a is a perfect meal. It is so refreshing to see plates that are not stacked/filled with enough for 2-3 portions of everything. Is that a new air-fryer? I thought about getting a Cosori. TY for the videos of your trips at the end too. I gotta go save and share. I'm running late. I just watched the line-up for the Tyson Boxing match with my son. The women fighting got intense. Love ya.
What a lovely video, thankyou. That all looked so tasty. Mince and tatties is one of my childhood favourites too and using frozen fish in sauce for fish pie, what a good idea. My regular stand-by is Sunday soup. That’s basically potato soup with any veg that need using up, sometimes a chicken carcass and even some stale bread to thicken it plus plenty of herbs.
We would always go to my Grans after school and there was always a hot meal waiting for us, (home made too) how times change eh? It's quite sad looking at how the kids of today aren't fussed, they walk in like you said, grab crisps, chocolate and maybe a sausage roll out the fridge, Take me back please
I notice that most British home cooks who film their meals, tend to have chipped potatoes. Chips never were on our table in our childhood and I doubt whether any members of my family serve chips with their meals. Chips are reserved for takeaways, and my choices are Indian or Chinese, so no chips.
Good evening everyone!
Hope you’re all having a fab Sunday…Welcome or welcome back to my favourite day of the week on the channel….this weeks meals of the week 🥰
I hope you’ve all had a good week! I’ll join you down in the comments for a wee while xxx
😊I let my lasagna stand for 15 minutes after taking it out of the oven. It doesn’t slide apart. Your Christmas dinner looks great so does your soup😊
Your air fryer Christmas dinner looks super I can’t wait to get the recipe
Second that!
Looks perfect for couples or singles to celebrate Christmas without having to spend loads of cash on a restaurant meal. We’re all feeling the pinch this festive season and this sounds like the perfect solution. 👍🏻
Love the mince and tatties story - think we all recall a dish that made us skip home from school!
Lovely. My meals were.
Monday - Sausage, mash, peas and gravy.
Tuesday - Beef curry and rice.
Wednesday - Leftover curry and a baked potato.
Thursday - Fish finger sandwich.
Friday - Cheese and onion pie, chips and beans.
Saturday - KFC; 3 pieces of chicken, mash and gravy.
Sunday - Roast chicken, stuffing, roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, carrots, broccoli and gravy. Chocolate sponge and chocolate custard for pudding.
In the USA, we have pasta and garlic bread regularly. Carbs are delicious!
We have spaghetti with meat sauce and toasted bread at least twice a month.
I had to come watch gain. I had the Turkey Baguette as a late supper last night. We had Mince last week too! That air fryer is really nice. I make Fish Finger Sandwiches.

We've all that but with cheese coleslaw 😋😋
@@sandrascott8650I’m so glad you commented this. I had never tried cheese coleslaw before, but I spotted some in Lidl yesterday, and thought of this comment. Had some with lasagne and chips last night and oh my gosh…. That is a great combination!!
The lasagne looks pretty perfect to me, You can keep the chips though, I'll just have a side salad. That Christmas dinner looks amazing
I’m 70 yr old Northumbrian and we too had mince and tatties with wonderful dumplings, crispy on the top.
Yummy!
Starter:
Half a sliced red pepper with sweet chilli houmous.
Dinner is currently cooking:
Hunters chicken, baked sweet potato, broccoli, Brussels sprouts & sweetcorn. Yummy. 😋
Cheryl, all looked lovely especially the Air Fryer Christmas Dinner, can't wait for the recipe, and I love the idea of the quick and easy fish pie, and I'd never thought of making buttery cabbage. Cheryl top marks for this week! 🙂😋❤
I could listen to you aaaaaaallll day 🥰
Pasta with a fresh salad and a glass of red wine. Yummy
That opening folksy music instantly relaxes me😌Then it just gets better with your lovely accent and all the yummy meals! Love your Sunday videos❤Have a great week!
Thank you and stay safe. ✨️🍁🍂
Everything looks so good, Cheryl. Thanks again for sharing your meals with us.
If you curry the fish in the fish pie, it becomes a recipe that used to be called sunshine pie. Made like shepherds pie but with curried fish.
Chips with lasagne just like chips with macaroni cheese seems to be a Scottish thing. I lived in England for over a decade and don’t recall seeing the chips combo on menus when I was out.
The Christmas dinner looked good
Always look forward to.your meals,I am a meal.for one, but can often adjust. for me🖐🇺🇸
Hi Cheryl, the airfryer meal looks fab❤. Curry sauce on chips❤❤❤. I enjoy fish fingers in warm pita bread halves with shredded lettuce and mayo. Take care Gale

Could you do a Christmas dinner video, showing the best way to cook it all and have it ready at the same time please
Happy Sunday 😊😊😊😊😊
Hope you're having a fab Sunday my friend! 🤗
@WhatsForTea Thank you . I hope you and your family are having a great day.....
Mmm, so many delicious meals this week, Cheryl😋 The Christmas meal looks so lovely. Thank you so much💚
Christmas Dinner!! Now, I wasn't expecting that! 😆
Some great dishes, as always, Cheryl. I must admit, I had a roll and fish fingers on Friday evening & d'you know what? It was absolutely delicious!
Bit early Paul! 😆👍
@WhatsForTea Hmmm... nahhh, let's just call it a 'test run'. That should cover it, eh? 😜xx

I worked in the kitchen of a Italian too an the prep was the same.
Hardest part was adding the bechsmel sauce and cheese 😂
I always make lasagna the day before, as well as my spaghetti sauce.
Yum

Mince and tatties and doughballs would be my favourite!

I’ve made mince and tattles with doughballs for dinner tonight, real comfort food!
Everything looks so delicious!! Your family is very fortunate to have you as their chef! ❤️🌹
I always have to have garlic toast with my tomato, pasta dishes.
Lovely meals Cheryl. Thanks for sharing your lovly video.grest meals.👍🙂🇨🇮
I’m with you about a stew! I’ve always loved savory dishes. I’d rather have another helping of the dinner than ANY dessert.
I think a 3 year old Lentil Soup video popped up on my feed. That all looked delicious, the Airfryer looks so much bigger than mine.
Thank you can you please tell me how to make garlic & mayo dressing
Will take a look at the lentil soup recipe, looks yummy. 😋
My mum made the BEST pea and ham soup ever.
Mums always make the best soup ☺
I love getting in the Christmas spirit quite early.
I made lasagne using your recipe a few weeks back, and it was delicious.
I remember growing up and having fish fingers. Miss them as I live in the States where you can't buy them.

I prefer lasagne and bolognese the day after 😊
My husband is Scottish and I'm Irish/Scottish. I can eat potatoes every day of the week 3 times a day 😂
