Love those electronic lighters! Also, to keep candles from hollowing out you need to burn them down each time until the entire top is liquid. Once it hollows, there is no going back. Something I just learned and it upped my candle burning game. 😉
I prefer the double sided Scrub Mommy rectangle sponges. I absolutely love them! I've used that phrase to explain why I don't do outdoor activities. I have allergies to just about everything, including the sun! Never fails to get a laugh.
If you're good at judging temps without a gauge, add ice cubes to get it down to the req. temp is quick & easy. The only thing that could possibly affect the nuked water taste is if you just cleaned the microwave or have leftover smells from something else.
I used to boil water in a kettle on the stove each time for tea or pour over coffee until my daughter's friend decided that I needed an electric kettle. No questions asked. He was here for breakfast one morning and 2 days later I received an electric kettle of my own!! I thank him each time I use it! (PS-- you are SO right about microwaved hot water. Ugh!)
I’ve had my electric kettle for 15 years - since a month-long trip to New Zealand! I love it - I’m a tea drinker here too! Try Constant Comment (Bigelow) black tea. My grandmother used to drink it before tea bags…!😊
Last Christmas I bought a couple of the Surpus Electric Lighters as stocking stuffers as per Nick's recommendation. We had a massive storm on Christmas Day, and when one of my sons got home, they had no electricity, and he said the lighter was the most useful present they got as they could light candles with no fuss! A+ recommendation! 🎄
I caved and bought the Beast blender even though I had a Ninja and I absolutely love it. I make smoothies every day and the Beast looks 1000% better on my counter than the Ninja did. It works just as well but is quieter and doesn't take up so much space in my tiny kitchen. Highly recommend.
My daughter lives in Scotland and when she visited and requested tea, I microwaved the water. She's returning for Thanksgiving, so I finally purchased an electric kettle. It's more cost effective, but your product is much more aesthetically pleasing.
Your videos usually inspire me in one way or another, and this one is no exception. I have had my Vitamix since 1978 (the base is steel and the pitcher is real glass) and it still works great. It's very powerful. BUT, it's huge, it's ugly , it's hard to clean, and I rarely use it anymore. So I'm donating it and going for a more modern , more attractive one. Not sure it will be the the Beast Blender. I just appreciate your waking me as to what I really need. Thanks!
I got the Rolex, the lighter, and the pill remover last year and up Im still obsessed. I love scrub mommy sponges. They are the best. Amazon sells speciaty holders for them that are very practical. My favorite amazon purchase last year were electronic tapered candles to go into all of my candle holders. Last year I bought a box of ivory. This year I’m going for red. It is a great addition to the ambient lighting and they flicker.
I have that Lulu candle, at first it gave me a headache, but then that went away. The scent is super strong if you're looking for something more subtle, but if you want something strong it's great
Team bidet for sure. I got one that has the seat attached and I really like it, even though I didnt want to give up my wooden toilet seat. Do recommend. ❤
I LOVE the Lulu candle. I ordered last year based on your 2023 suggestions. It is wonderful! It’s on an ‘auto delivery’ for me. Thank you for that recommendation.
I use a waterproof camping lantern in the shower at night. I’m neurodivergent (ADHD) and light sensitive. The only room in my house I consistently use overhead lighting in is the kitchen. A standard sized lamp doesn’t give enough light to light my shower from the outside and my bathroom is small. I love my little lantern. I use its built-in clip to hang it on my shower storage. P.S. This American had never heard that Americans don’t have kettles until I heard British people mention it online. Everyone I know has a kettle and grew up with one (I’ve asked about it out of curiosity). I guess a lot of Americans do microwave their water, but it’s as weird to a lot of other Americans as it is to Canadians and the British. I was floored when I first heard about it. (Edited for typos]
I don’t like overhead lights the only light I like over me is from the sun. In my bathroom, I have a Himalayan salt nightlight that gives my bathroom a nice warm glow. I shower with the lights off and I also have my shower curtain hung close to the ceiling. So my shower is very cozy and relaxing. I do light the idea of the little lamp. I also have never seen an American boiling water in a microwave. Either a pot or kettle. I don’t even use a microwave. I warm things in the oven or stovetop and I have a mini crockpot to warm food at work.
Love the electric kettle! It heats up while I get ready for work in the office and ready to use, plus you can choose the temperature at which it heats. Love that!

I've always been hesitant of any "as seen on tv" type of products. BUT the Scrub Daddy (and related spin-off products) is hands down a MUST buy. You can use it for cleaning dishes, of course, but it works to clean pretty much any surface you can think of. Good pick.
As a guy who also love appliances OMG I think I need that Ninji. I have been avoiding it.....and we are similar! I am a bad Canadian too! Did I hear right ball hair LOL, love it
For the next shower I take, I'm going to imagine a waterproof lamp in there with me. I have the perfect ledge in the back for it. If it vibes, I'm using your link to get one, thanks!
I LOVE Fellow's matte black coffee setups! The Staag kettle (or rather the whole set, including the grinder and all the other lovely stuff) is still on my wish list. I got the Clara French press from them already and it's the best I ever had. Not a cheap brand but sooo worth it imo, especially since you can get sets with matching handles, etc and that's just SO pleasing for the eye.
I LOVE the candle lighter! I bought it last year after you featured it in your video! (FYI - I'm an American that uses a stove top kettle to heat water for tea. I would never use the microwave!)
I live in Japan and I gotta say, Japanese toilets are the best. Not only is there a bidet function, but the control panel attaches to the wall so they're really easy to use. AND the best part is the heated seat! In the winter it's THE BEST THING EVER! I could live on the toilet 😅
I have two kettles, but the real answer is that Americans don’t really drink that much hot tea. we drink so much coffee and every house has a coffee maker, but only dedicated tea drinkers bother to buy a kettle. Southerners drink iced tea but we brew it in a pot on a stove.
I don't have a microwave so for tea I heat my hot water in a pot or for lower heat I'll use my Nespresso machine as a water heater. But would be nice to have a kettle.
I make rustic bread in my air fryer, as well as hard cooked eggs. And I've been using Folex for more than 35 years. Absolutely the best spot and general carpet/upholstery cleaner e-ver.
Nick, I too changed to tea! It's happened before in my life when my bff married a Britt. She always gave me a cuppa when I came by, then turned me on to PG TIPS. And just like last time 20 years ago I suddenly don't want coffee only tea
Omg i would NEVER microwave hot water. I use an electric kettle and so does everyone i know. But then again, my grandma is British and so we follow the British way of drinking tea.
Love the annual Amazon video, the commentary is perfection & there's usually at least one thing I want. That kettle is beautiful! I have a cheap stovetop kettle but I've been looking at electric kettles & trying to decide whether to go cheap & basic or bougie (definitely leaning bougie now). Of course I'm going to sing the praises of Folex (again!), lol... Literally used it this morning to clean up after my sick toddler puked on the carpet. Absolutely love Folex, I've been using & recommending it for over 20 years.
Nick - your attitude is everything! The "love me or leave me" is great!!! Thanks for your 2024 finds; will be checking out a few!! Have a blessed day!! xxoo
Not the low hung curtains!😮 No, Sir. I will not let you get away with that. 😂 You have dragged us 💅for cute Glam decor, and now you break a decor rule, by hanging your curtains low.😂
The Scrub Mommy has a soft side. I use it to apply Power Paste to my glass stove top, let it dry and then take it off with a cotton rag (old T shirt), I'm a lazy cleaner and this works wonderfully. I've bought 2 products so far and I'm halfway through the video. Thanks Nick!
Thanks for all the great recommendations. That blender looks interesting. I recently watched Drew on Lone Fox and McKenna. They both highly recommended two pages drapes. I have an electric stove so I use a kettle for tea. Never microwave water for tea☹️
Nick, I'm the complete opposite when it comes to expensive versus inexpensive products. If I buy a pair of Venice Beach special sunglasses, they'll last me 10 years, but if I get a gorgeous pair of Ray-Bans, they won't even last a week.😂
Do other Americans not own, like, a pot? A saucepan? Even a regular, stove-top kettle? I'm not wasting my nonexistent NYC kitchen counter space (or similarly nonexistent NYC budget) on a single-use item like a kettle when any pot with sides higher than a frying pan will boil water. (That said, do I own a single-usage nugget ice maker that takes up even more space than any electric kettle? Hell yeah. Priorities.)
why do americans keep insisting that electric kettles are single use? all they do is boil water... FASTER than a stove-top would. and with automatic temp-control, to boot. ergo - making pasta? kettle. coffee? kettle. leafy greens? kettle. soup? kettle. cocoa? kettle. i think you get the picture
@@MalharetasLairThe real question is, why do Americans live rent free in people’s head? I don’t understand what the obsession is with Americans and what Americans do and don’t do.
@so.many.obstacles true, that. i personally couldn't care less, just have some friends fron the us who KEEP repeating this weird statement about kettles like they've heard it from somewhere and can't stop themselves. and now i see the same stuff in a random comment section of a youtuber i watch. it's just baffling to me, is all. thought i'd share the bafflement with other ppl, might finally get diluted to homeopathic concentrations, who knows 😅
In the US here & I use an electric kettle for my tea or when I need to boil a lot of water quickly - for most stove top food applications, really. But I will nuke a cup of water specifically for just a cup of coffee because it's faster than the kettle, otherwise the kettle wins. They do heat up faster outside of the US though, which is why so many non-Americans use kettles. ETA: I'm an oolong fan myself, but I drink all kinds from white, herbal, green/matcha & even black tea from time to time so the temp gauge is very handy.
Hey! I was curious about the lamp as well. He left the link in the description of this video. Its the Crate & Barrel - Allegra Rattan and Linen Task Floor Lamp by Jake Arnold
I think I've watched every video of Nick's for the last 2 years...at least. We've been building our home for 3 years.... dont ask - it's an annoying story... but thank God I've had time to learn so much from this channel. So our home will be "Us" & classy. Now I need Yard advice! Is there a "Nick outside" channel? 😅 ❤ Very thankful for Nick and adore his humor!
I'm also on year 3 of a new build, I feel your pain. And I've been watching Nick and other home videos, what will I do with my time once it is complete 🙃

Nick, I too changed to tea! It's happened before in my life when my bff married a Britt. She always gave me a cuppa when I came by, then turned me on to PG TIPS. And just like last time 20 years ago I suddenly don't want coffee only tea
For health reasons, I've been moving away from drinking coffee. I drink hot Chai now and its been great so far!
My favorite when I’m sick since I don’t like chamomile.
Floridian here! We use our kettle all the time!
Bidets are a must!!
Folex! Works as magic!
Bought my electric kettle 10 years ago and never looked back.
Nick - your attitude is everything! The "love me or leave me" is great!!!
Thanks for your 2024 finds; will be checking out a few!!
Have a blessed day!!
xxoo
The scrub mommy has a sponge on one side.
Love my con air that I bought because of you. Sweaters are so nice now !
I have a kettle but it’s big. Thank you for the advice. I’m off to get one like yours.
Thanks for all the great recommendations. That blender looks interesting. I recently watched Drew on Lone Fox and McKenna. They both highly recommended two pages drapes. I have an electric stove so I use a kettle for tea. Never microwave water for tea☹️
Lol - American with a Zwillinge kettle here!! Always have used a kettle - live in California - it's not unheard of!
Nick, I'm the complete opposite when it comes to expensive versus inexpensive products. If I buy a pair of Venice Beach special sunglasses, they'll last me 10 years, but if I get a gorgeous pair of Ray-Bans, they won't even last a week.😂
Hi Nick. I am an "indoor cat", too! Will definitely check out that lighter gadget, and the candle, and, and, etc.....thanks for another awesome video!
You will love both the lighter and the candle!
I love this kind of video! Thanks!!! ❤❤❤
I agree. I would rather have an ice maker than a kettle. I don't drink tea so I don't need a kettle.
why do americans keep insisting that electric kettles are single use? all they do is boil water...
I 💯 with you on the bidet.
Hi Nick!! Love your content!! The floor lamp over your left shoulder (with you facing the camera) can you share where it is from???
Hey! I was curious about the lamp as well. He left the link in the description of this video. Its the Crate & Barrel - Allegra Rattan and Linen Task Floor Lamp by Jake Arnold
Yup! Link is in the description. Crate and Barrel.
I'm only 30 seconds in, and I'm smashing the like button. I ride the same wavelength as Nick but could never get away with the things he says 😂
Very thankful for Nick and adore his humor!
I'm also on year 3 of a new build, I feel your pain. And I've been watching Nick and other home videos, what will I do with my time once it is complete 🙃
We won’t get an “ outside Nick” as he revealed he’s an indoor cat 😂
I’ve had my conair defuzzer forever. Granted it uses C batteries but it still has a sharp blade. Caution though, It does not play well with polyester or nylon fabrics. 👍
