Doesn't even come close to the eloquent beauty of a Browning Hi-Power. And there is no such thing as a good looking Block Glock,... Mr. AurA-Pubg Mobile Comp. As a matter of fact the only good looking Tupperware gun out there is the Beretta PX-4 Storm,...all the rest look the same. CZ would run a close 2nd though.
It amazes me that people can’t afford a $1300 gun but have 5-7 junk guns for $500 each with atleast one Glock with more modifications than sense. People that hate this pistol are losers that aren’t patient enough to save money.
I've never understood the dislike for the HK paddle style mag release. I find it is faster and more intuitive (using my trigger finger) as well as being less likely to trip by mistake compared to the 1911/M9 button style.
Super Great "pick it apart" review of the H&K 9mm Expert - Refreshing to listen to a guy that doesn't need a macho approach. Well done - This firearm is on it's way to my FFL, as I purchased this as my first pistol. It truly pays dividends to have patience, calm, and research one's environment before a decision. THANK YOU NFA !!!!
Any love for the USP Tactical? I purchased my USP .45 Tactical in 2006. I’ve got about 8,000 rounds through it. Damn thing is absolutely flawless!! Still my absolute favorite pistol in my collection.
I’ve had mine since 2008… has never disappointed and always impresses at the range. Try shooting at 50-75 yards with this and you will be very pleasantly surprised
From the USP Family I love the HK usp ELITE, extremely accurate in a hard hitting round like the 45 acp with double stack magazine. It is the closets thing to a perfect gun. The only problems is not to many people know about it and very few reviews on YT, also very difficult to get. 🎉
Don't think about it! Just Do It! I found the USP in .40 s&w by luck after looking for almost a year! I AM SO HAPPY I DID IT!!!!! Badass gun to add to a collection!
Love HK firearms and been shooting them for years. VP series is nice and the newer MOS pistol versions are nice as well but my favorites are still the USP series. Such a well built gun from the 90’s made to take a beating, shoot accurately and still as relevant today as it was back then. Quality is quality my friends. Expert and Elite models are awesome and can say this from experience. Not an HK bigot though as I do love CZ, Glock and Walther as well.
the safety knob has a drop hammer, but doesn't decock it completely. like the vp9, it's so accurate. point and shoot. you can disassemble it by gripping the handle between thumb and forefingers up high then wrapping your other fingers on top of the slide, not in the port, you'll pinch your fingers. trigger guard is good for when you wear gloves too.
I just picked one up from Turners a couple of weeks ago..... HK USP 45 Expert for $1,099. Manufacture Date Code is CB which means 2021, C=2 and B=1. You now can find it under the trigger guard. It used to be on the side of the slide but they hide it now under the trigger guard. So basically, I got a fresh from the factory gun. These guns sells as soon as they receive them. Only issue I have is the rear sight is off centered. Not really an issue, I just can't believe it passed QC because even crossed-eyed Johnny will notice it. Great review by the way!
I just saw a 45 Expert 45 at my local Turners. It felt like a first class high quality pistol. I might go grab it since I'd love to have a higher capacity .45. Only thing is Ive been building my supply of 9mm since I mostly shoot 9mm. Hmmm
@Elliot Torres You can see it by just looking at it. I am not talking about how it's calibrated, just talking about the the installation of the rear sight, it's not in the middle of the upper slide.
Excellent video. Yours and honest outlaws’ is the best two. I bought one as my first handgun. Probably around 4000 rounds through it. The accuracy is extremely impressive. Custom gun impressive. The only critique I have is your trigger finger. The hk usp expert has a single action trigger pull of 2.5lbs and a double action of around 7lbs. Oh and by the way I have a buddy who couldn’t get off his 1911s. He bought an expert last week after shooting mine. That’s how good it is.
USP Compact in .40 was the issue gun when I was a FFDO (armed pilot). I learned to shoot this gun very well and can duplicate the groups you shot easily with it. It has LEM trigger and as you showed, very easy to strip and clean. Now I need an expert in 9 mm for those 50 yd shots!
I was lucky, this was my first pistol. After about 20 thousend shots she is still perfect. The only thing i had to change was the o ring. And I had to grind a litte bit one of the Magazines. I would buy her everytime again. Regards from Austria.
@@marcoaerts3178 ah, ok. Thank you. I hope it doesn't happen on mine. But then again, i don't shoot my usp enough for it to matter, but i plan to start shooting it more.

16:31 always feels good. Unlike a lot of other ones, this was a pretty thorough review. The only one I've seen clearly demonstrate the O-ring's effect. A lot of people get surprised how tight the O-Ring makes the lock up when in battery, HK really had a stroke of genius with that. It's simple and low cost, both of which are already weird for Germans, let alone HK. It's the sort of thing you see and wonder why no one thought of it before. But don't worry, HK still couldn't help over-engineering some aspects. For instance, the slide surface where the barrel meets it and locks the breech is laser hardened. The squib test you mentioned is another great example. That was done with a regular stock .40 S&W USP. I believe they were still using the traditional lands and grooves rifling at that point, that changed to all polygonal rifling a few years later. It would probably still survive anyway. HK's proprietary recoil reduction system their full size USP pistols use is unique among other systems, because the recoil assembly is floating on the secondary spring in first phase of shot, allowing locked barrel to recoil together with slide. Only after second spring is compressed, recoil assembly stops it's rearward movement and slide can unlock from barrel. This movement is not replicable by hand cycling and is part of why the slide may feel surprisingly easy to rack. Other attempts at reducing the effect of rearward recoil forces through unorthodox recoil spring assemblies work either by all springs working together to offer longer effective spring travel by having both springs work more-less simultaneously (P2000SK, G26, Glock Gen4, STI Recoil Master), or to cushion last portion of travel when second springs enter after specific amount of slide travel (Sprinco), or to combine both principles using 3 springs (DPM). These are great pistols that do all and more than is reasonably required of them. I really wish HK had just updated the frames and slides for the 21st century instead of just making entirely new systems. There wasn't anything wrong with it, don't fix things that aren't broken. The stock trigger on a USP or even a USP Compact whether DA/SA or LEM is superior to the stock trigger on the p2000 or P30 again whether DA/SA or LEM.
HK catalog and page 10 of the Operatior's Manual lists the trigger pull at 3.8 lbs. for the 9mm Expert. And the sights were factory zero set at 25 meters( 82 feet) Page 12 Operator's Manual 💥🎯👍
-"No, give me your other hand!" -"My other hand's not strong enough!" -"No get away from me, give me your other hand!" LOL! I laughed with that Scary Movie 2 reference. Great review man, and just beauty of a gun. I had the USP expert Match not long ago, such a great gun. But at the time i was looking to buy a VP9-L and didn't quite have enough money for it. Plus i also had, and still do currently, a USP 45 and a P30L match, with the p30L match being basically a slightly better and more modernized version of the USP, i just couldn't justify keeping it rather than getting a VP9-L, which was a gun i had been pining for for quite some time. I still think it ultimately was the right decision, the VP9L is one of if not the single best striker-fired hand-gun I've ever shot, but I'm not going to say that i don't miss the hell out that gun. Now that i think of it, if i had to do it over currently, i'd actually prolly keep it and sell the usp45 instead. Im not a big 45 guy anyways, but seeing as how i didn't have many 45's, i felt sorta obligated to keep it, seeing as how it's one of the best 45's out there, hell i like it better than the modern HK45 for that matter. Anyways, great gun, happy you got one and hope you enjoy it.
I got both, the P2000 in 9mm and the USP compact in .40, they're both amazing guns and can't go wrong with either imo, just research which features and design elements you prefer
@@MybeautifulandamazingPrincess I never know which version to get last HK pistol I had was the P30 V3 I think but now I think I want the USP Tactical or compact tactical.
I have the HK USP 45 EXPERT , nice but the trigger is enormously heavy and has crazy amount of travel . The single action is the way to go unless you get it worked on .
Glad you Reviewed This Gun, I have one with a trigger job by Teddy Jacobson out of Sugarland Texas and Its the gun I carry in my car replacing the Sig Sauer P227 with SRT trigger in 45 ACP and I Love It !!! Very Accurate ;)
I'm glad HK hasn't discontinued this beautiful gun, everything about it so cool, as good of a gun the VP9 and the other modern lineup pistols are, I just love the USP. I have the USP40 compact, great pistol all around
Dude! Great video. Nice technical overview and walkthrough, and great audio and editing :D How long are your thumbs, at 5:24? I wanna know if I'm gonna experience some of the same things as you, once I can afford this model.
i have relatively large hands (XL or XXL) gloves, and i can barely sweep the mag release with my strong hand provided i break my grip slightly. This is with a regular USP 40, but the grip portion of the frame should be identical
Which do you prefer of the two? USP 45 Compact or 45 Elite? I found a USP 45 Expert locally and it sure feels nice in the hand. Thinking about buying it. Seems like it would be a great range gun and Home defense. I have VP9 and VP9-SK for concealed carry. (And a Sig P365XL), so the USP 9mm might be redundant.
@@gair1944 I personally prefer the Elite as someone who mostly shoots at the range. The USP Compact is a good carry gun if you're on the taller side. I can only do IWB in my State. It's a little on the thick side but I do carry it now and then.
I've owned my HK USP .45 full-frame pistol since it first came out. What a beast it is. It will take any abuse, is the most accurate pistol in my box, and God help the little guy that decides to challenge its authority
You should replace the O-rings when ever it "Feels like I should probably replace it just to be safe." They last years, especially if you get aftermarket higher temperature ones like Nitron.
The mag release on H&K’s are designed to be engaged by the index finger. Important to know when doing a review video and wanting to sound knowledge about your firearm. It’s not an American Pistol design so it done differently. Walther is another company that has a similar mag paddle release.
Missed my chance to get this, I went in for some ammo and saw one with a $200 upcharge. I've never seen this store upcharge anything before, so I was taken back by it. Needless to say even though it was a gun that's on my list I turned it down. Came back like a month later and it was gone, never saw the expert in any caliber ever again. Saw a few Elite come and go but it never really appeal to me like the Expert.
Nice gun ,good catch ,does the Beretta that your wife gave you have a thumbs up safety to fire like old Beretta or 1911 style thumb down to fire which I like better ?
The Centennial has a frame mounted safety which Beretta only does on limited edition firearms. And now the X Performance. Scroll through my recent videos and you'll see the review on it 😎
This and other reviews got me to order a USP Expert 45. Brought it home this morning and yow! Those vertical edges at the back checkering panel - like steak knives into your palm. I need to grow a pair or wear gloves when I hit the range
"HK USP Expert 9 - As good as it gets?" Nope, install the LEM mod with light FPBS and light TRS, and I can't remember if I went with Heavy HS or not. Was a world of difference with HK USP 45. Love cocked and locked with LEM mod.
Definitely one of my best shift / end of days gun ! Cons nothing on the front sights ! Mags are kinda expensive and hard to come by ! Need a adapter for the pic rail . Holster hard to find Pros are kinda crazy ,non stop, endless get one I have the compact ! The service model ! And the expert ! The expert is badddddddddddd azzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Let me help you understand my point You can open carry it, IF you can find a holster. Concealed carry is dumb with something this large. It has zero to do with your hand size. There are not a lot of holsters available for this gun as it's not a gun meant to be carried. This is a benchrest target shooting pistol. A Sig Sauer P365 Macro has an 18+1 capacity at half the size so why on earth would you want to carry an out dated pistol outside of nostalgia reasons? I'm all for nostalgia don't get me wrong, but I'm not lugging it around 365 days a year. YMMV
Carry what you want. People have opinions that are most often useless. If it works for you, rock it and protect yourself. Who cares what some wanna be know it all on you tube says. Fuck’em 👍
I only conceal EDC Full size pistols with my main conceal EDC being my Beretta M9A3 G model. I think I'd be able to conceal carry this too. If full size pistols ain't for you, it doesn't mean it's not gonna be for everyone else too.
Definitely on my list to get I felt it at point blank in Greenwood trigger & slide apple butter crisp smooth definitely will be adding to my collection
I shot the Regular USP, Full size 9mil, i absolutely hated it personally, trigger felt weird, i couldn't tell when its gonna go off, and recoil was much much more than Glock 19 Maybe i held it wrong, idk, nit when i picked it up it felt weird to me. Glock recoil went 6 to 12. USP wobbled all over, to sides as well
Picked one up at the last import that I know of and that was over six years ago. Maybe I missed one in between, if not then it's not every couple of years. Absolutely the most accurate 9mm I own, my long slide VP9 is very close. the trigger is amazing. Maybe you could review the vp9 long slide later. Oh yeah and the spent cases can be picked up with one squat down, it dumps them in a nice little pile, for you reloaders out there.
Manufacture year can be found on the slide or under the trigger guard for new ones. 0=A, 1=B, 2=C, 3=D..... So if it is BE, that is made in 2014. Let me know what you got.
if only this pistol didnt cost as much as a well-equipped AR oooof. I settled for a P2000 for something more affordable and concealable, but you bet your life i would pick this as my open holster.
I had a USP 40 that I sold because I could feel the trigger flex in double action due to being plastic. Just want to make sure this isn’t the same situation.

I love my 45 expert, got it at a steal too!
I’ve all ways wanted a USP or a P2000. Just an awesome looking gun. Your shots of it towards the beginning made this one look just gorgeous.
I have a P2000 V3 my wife gifted me when we first started dating and still love it! I highly recommend it! It’s currently on coffee table duty 😎
Hi Adam! This comment is to boost my digital buddy, Al Go-Rhythm!
It worked!
Looks like a helluva fun gun. Thanks!
This is my carry. Love it.
Is it concealed? I’m curious what your holster setup looks line
What type and brand of holster do you use. TIA
I have the HK USP 45 EXPERT , nice but the trigger is enormously heavy and has crazy amount of travel . The single action is the way to go unless you get it worked on .
just purchased one; $1414.
Great review, cover absolutely everything one by one and nice camera work. Thanks man. Phenomenal gun though.
Looks like it’s more accurate than I will ever be
what's the make and model of the shirt he's wearing?
I'm new to the channel content is fantastic very well put together and informative thank you.
Thanks for the sub!
Glad you Reviewed This Gun, I have one with a trigger job by Teddy Jacobson out of Sugarland Texas and Its the gun I carry in my car replacing the Sig Sauer P227 with SRT trigger in 45 ACP and I Love It !!! Very Accurate ;)
when i make it as an ffl, a usp45 expert is gunna be a gift to myself
I have an IWB for my expert. I can carry it with the match weight comp and olight pro r 😎
Loved the indepth review. I purchased one today. Can't wait for it to get here.
I'm glad HK hasn't discontinued this beautiful gun, everything about it so cool, as good of a gun the VP9 and the other modern lineup pistols are, I just love the USP. I have the USP40 compact, great pistol all around
All thanks to the German army still using till this day if it wasn’t for the German army then yeah would of been surplus for sure
I picked up a 45, may actually be my end of days sidearm.....
I could not find this gun on the HK website
HK is strange like that. And they only import this model once every couple years. 🤷♂️

Dude! Great video. Nice technical overview and walkthrough, and great audio and editing :D
How long are your thumbs, at 5:24? I wanna know if I'm gonna experience some of the same things as you, once I can afford this model.
i have relatively large hands (XL or XXL) gloves, and i can barely sweep the mag release with my strong hand provided i break my grip slightly. This is with a regular USP 40, but the grip portion of the frame should be identical
I need one but ill be patient. I have the USP9 full size, USP 45 compact and the 45 elite. Soon I hope to add the expert in 9mm
MY little pocket knife is a razor to the flesh, will slice and dice ANYTHING, what a god of a man it makes me!!! Arghhh!
You should replace the O-rings when ever it "Feels like I should probably replace it just to be safe." They last years, especially if you get aftermarket higher temperature ones like Nitron.
That (airplane) was a Beechcraft Starship. Very rare turboprop.
It was a velocity
Funny how the anemic rails on the USP give about the same accuracy as fully fitted rails on a 1911.
8:53: *ALL* HK firearms are designed and required to pass the squib test.
The mag release on H&K’s are designed to be engaged by the index finger. Important to know when doing a review video and wanting to sound knowledge about your firearm. It’s not an American Pistol design so it done differently. Walther is another company that has a similar mag paddle release.
When can we expect a Yankee Hill machine R9 review?
YHM hasn’t contacted me about a review 🤷♂️
@@nfareview dang, I have one in jail. I was hoping to get a preview. Thanks for the response
I have the 9mm and 45acp in these... Brilliant guns. True COMBAT GRADE.... LONG slide guns are my FAVORITES...
Now that is one HANDSOME gun
Missed my chance to get this, I went in for some ammo and saw one with a $200 upcharge. I've never seen this store upcharge anything before, so I was taken back by it. Needless to say even though it was a gun that's on my list I turned it down. Came back like a month later and it was gone, never saw the expert in any caliber ever again. Saw a few Elite come and go but it never really appeal to me like the Expert.
The only thing I wish were different is a dot on the front sight. I'm going to put a white night sight bead on the front of mine
Scroll through my recent videos and you'll see the review on it 😎
@@nfareview can do
This and other reviews got me to order a USP Expert 45. Brought it home this morning and yow! Those vertical edges at the back checkering panel - like steak knives into your palm. I need to grow a pair or wear gloves when I hit the range
Dude
I could sand down the edges but... Talon rubber grip inbound
Be a man
"HK USP Expert 9 - As good as it gets?"
Nope, install the LEM mod with light FPBS and light TRS, and I can't remember if I went with Heavy HS or not. Was a world of difference with HK USP 45. Love cocked and locked with LEM mod.
Definitely one of my best shift / end of days gun ! Cons nothing on the front sights ! Mags are kinda expensive and hard to come by ! Need a adapter for the pic rail . Holster hard to find
Pros are kinda crazy ,non stop, endless get one I have the compact ! The service model ! And the expert !
The expert is badddddddddddd azzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Check UrbanCarry Lock Leather models.
Gun looks beautiful in those and it carries comfortable!
Look at you flexin' in 2021 by shooting real ammo. Just kiddin', thanks for the video.
Do any of the HK pistols in .45 caliber come with a rear decocker (like the P30) instead of the side decocker ?
The HK45 does I believe. It’s in the same place as the P30.
@@thunderring8056 I checked out 2 videos and they seem to be side decocker.
Sold mine with Merkle weights for a nice profit 🤷🏻♂️
Just asking can I use 115gr ruger
Of course you can. Runs just fine 🍻
@@nfareview much appreciated...didn't want to destroy it.i wanted one for a long time
You have good taste! Pick the best handguns
Can you review the stealth project suppressors? Specifically in 5.56?
Look at the price of the mark23
Don't understand the comment about NOT carrying this i have large hands and would absolutely carry this firearm
Let me help you understand my point
You can open carry it, IF you can find a holster.
YMMV
@@nfareview Duly noted I understand that for some people it's not an issue just saying
The USP 9 TACTICAL is my dream hammered fire gun. I don't own any hammered fired pistols.
Excellent review Brotha
Hay para todos los gustos. La USP compac creo de 17,3 de largo. La USP de 19,5, la expert y la tactical. Calibres 9mm, 40 y 45.
Just picked one up today🤘🏻great video
I'm convinced! Thank you for sharing
I have a compact in .40 Sweet gun
Definitely on my list to get I felt it at point blank in Greenwood trigger & slide apple butter crisp smooth definitely will be adding to my collection
Finally a real gun on UA-cam 😎😎😎
But I do love the looks of that Walther.
Brand name, oh my.
I shot the Regular USP, Full size 9mil, i absolutely hated it personally, trigger felt weird, i couldn't tell when its gonna go off, and recoil was much much more than Glock 19
Maybe i held it wrong, idk, nit when i picked it up it felt weird to me.
@@07Kimo07 Mine is a BD. 2013
if they made an optics ready model of that , it would make a nice CO gun.
if only this pistol didnt cost as much as a well-equipped AR oooof. I settled for a P2000 for something more affordable and concealable, but you bet your life i would pick this as my open holster.
Is the trigger metal or plastic?
Plastic
Metal core, polymer shell.
I had a USP 40 that I sold because I could feel the trigger flex in double action due to being plastic. Just want to make sure this isn’t the same situation.
@@korbyn49 no aftermarket parts? At least someone to machine an aluminium trigger?
A gun that can run 200k bullets, something you will leave behind.
now I learned that weird plane is velocity
Has anyone tried the Suppressor X Cleaner that’s on silencershop? I was curious if it was any good and if it can be used an aluminum baffles
Are there anti-HK bots or something? There’s a surprising amount of contempt for one of the best pistols on the market.
I like the usp much more than the current models.
forgive me, but isn't the USP line.. "plastic"?
All HK firearms a great guns. Excellent engineering.
