Happy Birthday to you both. If you dip the spatula in warm water it will spread the icing to a smooth surface. For decorations the icing should be a bit stiffer. Next time make the icing in batches. Stiff for decor, little looser to ice the cake. 😊

When piping the icing fill bag use a twist tie on the end and pinch and twist the bag about 3 or 4 inches from the top and squeeze softly
