It wouldn’t make good videos if Sonny visited countries and disrespected the citizens of that country . And this is a business, so it wouldn’t make good business sense either, if he was rude to the locals.

Sonny does so well with not only talking about the food but also bringing in other important facts, issues, concerns, etc, while also bringing out so much knowledge and interesting aspects of the culture and area. I love watching him. I love Oro also! 💜
Actually, we do have that kind of corn in the US. It's the kind which is used to make grits, and also the corn which is used to make the snack food "Corn Nuts". It is also used to make the Mexican dish called Menudo which you see in a lot of authentic Mexican restaurants. It is a super tall variety of corn which you will seen grown in Iowa, Nebraska, and the eastern parts of the Dakotas. in the corn belt, it is third only to feed corn (#1) and sweet corn. There is more of this kind of corn grown than popcorn. The United States also exports a lot of this variety of corn.

Yeah you are correct. You see it in Goya cans as well, but that type is weird looking lol. Its different from the Peruvian and Mexican versions.
Btw ive tried both Pozole & Patasca (Similar soups) and the Patasca is more rich in flavor imo..

This was an epic episode ! Many would associate weird foods with Asian cuisine and , as a result , they're looked down upon or viewed as "uncivilized" , but #BEFRS always give exposure to other exotic cuisines world-wide and aims to dispel such prejudices.

As someone from South America / Ecuador - this is sooo nostalgic. Everyone’s hustling with their dishes/food, that you’ll never try the same thing twice. Cuy is definitely more towards the mountains.

Great channel! It educates us North Americans on life for people in other parts of the world and how they feed themselves while those people get to know a bit better how we live and what we eat.

The craziest thing I ever tried in Peru was Chicha that was "chewed" prior to fermenting. Otherwise I drew the line at guinea pig since I had some as pets when I was a kid. Skewered beef hearts are really good.

I went to Peru with friends during COVID and I wanna go back. Not only because it was so beautiful and it felt like being home in the Philippines, but also I feel like we missed out a lot of the culture within people and social interactions.
I am so happy you went to Peru! Peru is a beautiful country and Peruvians are very friendly and kind people. Sorry for the robbers in Lima. You always have to be careful in Lima. Sonny I am curious if you got sick eating raw food?
Next time go to Huancayo to see how they make Pachamanca it is very famous food in the mountains! Then go to try different caldos ( soups) there!
