Heyy! I really hope this video helps you out in some way 😉 I also just thought I'd point out that there isn't really ever a "right" way to revise, and although these tips have been really useful for me and when helping others, they may not work for you! I think it's important to try out new things and ultimately use whatever works best for you. You can even make flashcards online or on an app if you prefer! Good luck with it all, and enjoy ✨ x
UnJaded Jade Thank you for making this video!! My year 10 mocks are coming up and I’m really scared. This will help me for history and science so much thanks!
Ruchi Oh thanks! Oh I thought your mocks would be after the year 11 GCSE exams... Anyways my advice for you is to not revise heavily over the summer (maybe just 3-4 hours a week) but maybe go over the science content and revise one subject that you are the weakest at out of all your subjects as that will help you in year 11. Don't revise too much because you won't have any steam left to revise near to your real GCSEs, I promise! (I may be fed up with revision haha)
- flashcards should never be rewritten class notes - the most effective flashcards are ones that make you engage with them and think - summarise information on them - replace words with symbols/pictures/abbreviations. - write questions on the flashcard and do the answers on the back - miss out words in quotes and on the back, fill them in - written prompts, themes/characters or diagram prompts - make it visual: use colour, highlighters. - remove unnecessary words, only include keywords.
The way I do flashcards that got me through A-Levels and the uni so far is by using a traffic light method. I read the card and try and see how well I know the content (or how comfortable I am with it and that topic). If I know it off by heart and I can get full marks in a relative question then I highlight the front with a green line, then yellow is moderate knowledge and red is very little knowledge. I will do this with all of my flashcards and after two sessions of revising them I move all of the green cards to a separate pile (or I put them at the back) and I concentrate more on the red and yellow ones. If you do this for a few days/weeks I promise you will have committed more to memory than just passively reading the cards. I hope this helps someone!
i use to do this with faces in primary school when i had spelling tests and i would get full marks every single week so this 100% worked for me great advice
Jade knows how to get her knowledge across , that’s why I love her vid. It’s all very well saying ‘I revise 9 hours a day’ to motivate someone but jade actually articulated how she revises!!!
I love the fact that she's always smiling and laughing in her videos! Watching her laugh or hearing her voice rise when she's about to laugh makes me laugh for some reason.
This is the best video you’ve EVER made! I’m an aural learner and I find it difficult to revise effectively without dragging someone round with me to test me 😂 I get bored of writing flashcards out but the symbol thing is such a good idea - dankeschönnn x
Hannah Griffiths oh have you tried quizlet,if you learn well by testing then I think you will love it. Still have to make the flashcard though :p but better :D
xTerpsichore Yeah I use Quizlet, but I find I just learn the first couple of words and learn how to match them up, rather than learning the actual content
xTerpsichore Yes, but in sociology for example, I need to learn the study and the person that carried it out. I only end up remembering one of them because whichever I’m writing out is what I remember
I was literally just making some flashcards for chemistry and i was so happy when i got a notification for your video😍 this really helped me out. Thank you Jadeeee xxxxx
I mainly use flashcards for learning definitions (for economics) and learning German vocab. I then use a system where you take all of the flashcards, place them in three piles: first pile is the ones you haven't learnt yet, the second is for those that you've looked over but aren't 100% sure that you know and the third is for the flashcards that you know off by heart. The aim of this is to get all of them into the third pile, then the process starts again, until all of the information is stored properly. I hope this helps some people.
Hey Jade ❤️ it's a very random comment but i really wanted to tell you that i found your channel some days ago and now I'm obsessed (in a good way) i just love love love your channel, your video content and the way you motivate us all. You're so beautiful Jade and you have a very pretty smile! Never let that go away. I'm currently having my cies and you've inspired me so much to work hard. If hopefully i get good results, i won't mind to give you half of the credit :p Thankyouu beautiful lady 💕💕
Oh my gosh Jade! Your videos are always SO perfectly timed ❤️ I’m about to do some flash cards for English language AS aghhhh thank you so much I love you and your soul and your kindheartedness and just YOU!
UnJaded Jade you’re honestly such an inspiring woman. Thank you for your help. Also the video on the law of attraction has changed my life so much. I can’t thank you enough, you’re incredible ☺️ I so wish I could meet you in person, I feel like we would get on well x
I’m in year 9 and already stressing about GCSE’s. I have 3 next year and then the other 8 in year 11. Your videos help me so much! I really want to get the best grades I can and I think your channel will help me achieve that. Your tips are always so useful and you’re so inspiring. Lots of love x
I never used to really use flashcards in my revision and seeing everyone using them I thought that it'd be useful but it just wasn't for me. But seeing this video I thought I'd add in a new revision technique and flashcards could really be useful to me now!!
Hi Jade, I'm in year 9 at school and I got back an English essay today. I used your structure and I got a 7 which is a huge improvement from last time!! Thank you so much!!
I don’t know how I’ve only JUST found out about your channel. You are literally so inspiring and gorgeous and your tips actually sound legitimate instead of just sounding overly generalised. I actually wanted to give Minerva a go as well (I’m not too positive about what the results will be but I certainly will try hard!) and you are such a big help. Love you so much Jade and really appreciate your channel!
Heres a suggestion for people who have bad memory like me try to make the odd rough note in say your school diary when you can at break or lunch then you can re write it out neater when you get home and make it pretty or what not
This was so helpful thank you❤ what I like about your videos that you always explain something in your own style with your own experience, you do not just say do this or don't do that and leave us to be.
I'm gonna start studying back as a uni student few weeks ahead! I'm so excited since lots of studyoutubers keep updating about revision! Thanks Jade!!!

oh my goodness. this video is a life changer, Thanks so much, i got so used to using big words and writing massive paragraphs and this video helped me to understand making it bold and clear and just short words.
Thank you so much for this video!! I've never understood how to revise from flashcards, this video explained a lot! Thank you, and it was very well needed!
Up until now I’ve just passively written all my flashcards. There wouldn’t be any point of me remaking them but next year I’m all sorted thank you jadexxxx
Seriously never been so early!! I'd been waiting for you to make this video since forver!!! Finally it's here!! Love you Jade! You're a true motivation whenever I don't feel like learning. Keep it up! ❤❤
tysm unjaded jade for making such helpful videos. You are the queen of studies and such a lovely personality. Watching your videos make me feel like im listening to a friend helping me out to study. I can also relate to what all you say in your videos which just helps me a lot. sorry i can't write as much as iwant to atm because im going to have my first maths ig tomorrow i need to prepare for it. It would be a greater help for me if you could give some tips for my igs that I am going to do this year. Once again tysm for all the hard work you have done for us so far.
Thank youu! What I like to do is print out the spec and type it all out and cover the “students should know...” stuff in detail, and I cover every inch of it because they can’t ask anything not in it. Then I print it out and use you blurting method for each topic and subtopic to make sure that I remember it. Xxxx
This video was so helpful as I have just bought a pack of 500 flashcards for GCSE Science and I have to admit that I was going to copy out my class notes. After watching this video I understand that it is all about summarising. Thank you! Xx
This is SUCH a brilliant video!! I am definitely guilty of copying out my notes onto a card then hoping for the best! Quite glad I now know how to do these in an effective way to learn all those geography processes :) Thanks Jade!! x
I wish I could use colours and stuff but my school doesnt allow any type of stationery except for blue and black pens, pencils, and anything with color. This really helped btw, now I'm topping in almost all my classes so thank you!
little tip for those who have a printer: If you already have your flash cards on quizlet, you can put flash cards in the printer and print straight on to them. In gcse I wrote up flash cards on both quizlet and into the actual cards but it saves sooooo much time just to print them off. Also if you have messy handwriting like me, it means they are easier to read :)
Wow, uploads are coming fast! Thank's for this- I use quizlet a lot for flashcard style revision, but normal paper flashcards are so much easier to work with!
Jade. Good luck with your exams. Beastly things but they open doors to your future an set you off on the next exciting journey. Take time to decide on what you want to do and don't beat yourself up if you don't have fixed plans. Follow both your heart and your head and accept that sometimes it takes a while to really decide what you want to do next. Have fun making your choices.
Now, i know what i waa doing wrong.. i hope i will make flash cards properly which would be helpful for me to revise in a faster manner and write my exams in an appropriate manner
A fun technique I discovered is using the origami chatterboxes I made in primary school. I put questions as well as answers on them. Then I can test my friends on them and I eventually learn the answers! Thanks Jade! x
Just lived through the exam season which was stretched over two long months. I must admit that your revision techniques helped me so much, especially the one that you call "blurting". But ahhh watching this video while knowing that I am done with school now and don't have to make flashcards for the time being makes me soooooo happyyy. ALSO ALSO ALSO, that is a very pretty leaf wow!
I was revising for exams with your two hour study with me in the background when you uploaded this. SO HELPFUL AND MOTIVATING TO KEEP GOING!! Great timing with this video cause I just bought a new pack of flash cards. :) XX
You are such a blessing,I'm a 38 year old lady who is rewriting my matric and it hasn't been easy cause i last Sat in an ex 20yrs ago ,so all the tips are very helpful.
here i am watching this type of video while i'm on holidays.. no but honestly i had to leave a comment on this one as this is definitely one of the best revision related videos i've come across to. i love the way you explained everything in a simple but detailed way. i found this very helpful, thank you! i'm very new to your channel but every video i've seen so far has been so well done. i'm not exaggerating, you truly are amazing.
I really needed this video. I have an exam coming up in 2 days. I usually get around 40-50%. I usually just write a LOT of notes. I will try this method and see how well i do. (Ill update)
Honestly the end of this video made me cry! Jade you are SO beautiful and kind and this is JUST the video I needed (after a very long day of Chem A-Level!). I love you
Omg yes I’m in year nine I used to just copy down info on flash cards and just read that for some reason, but now I use qus diagrams and so much more thank you xx
I know you say to not just rewrite your school notes, but for me that works really well! I used it for GCSE sciences and geography and I find that it worked so well for me. I do think everyone’s different but also I think the fact I call them “notecards” not flash cards shows that I use them in a different way to you! and actually it’s been proven that just changing the format of your notes (ie literally to a mind map or a notecard) is a really effective method of revision, as long as you don’t JUST do that as revision! I do 3 essay subjects and so the main bulk of my revision is making essay plans which is where I summarise my notes and put it into a different context which is the moment that I test myself. I mainly use the notecards as a more transportable means of notes, so I can take them on a train etc. My 4th subject is maths which I don’t write notes for and only do questions... obviously as I said this isn’t a criticism of you as everyone learns differently and so different methods will inevitably not work for everyone, so much love and support jade! 💗💗
Love your idea of the question flashcards with diagrams as prompts! I'm a fan of jam packed flashcards as I do them for physics so there's lots of graphs and equations etc x
I was really in need of thz video abt flashcards. After I watched it I realised that I just copied the notes n nothing else, thanx jade for the video 😘❤
Hi jade I am doing medicine in Bulgaria right now and your videos r so motivating and all the tips u give r so useful To me and my sister who’s doing her a levels right now !
that‘s why I love you so muchhhh. you are literally telling exactly in which kind of way to do and not just saying yeah revise flashcards noo you‘re explaining how. thank you so much for all your work and help etc!! can you do something on oral preparations for lessons - so to get a better grade right in the lesson? sorry I‘m a native German speaker so not the best in English ‹3
I love your videos so much they are so helpful and so beautifully put together you are so unbelievably smart and talented and you are going to go so far in life keep doing what you’re doing because you are amazing ❤️
I love the idea of making flashcards, but I kind of need a full written database of notes because we don't always have access to the textbooks. I think rewriting it in a notebook (both in my own words and paraphrased from the text) helps me quite a lot. :P I might try making flashcards for French vocab, though- I think it's one of the only subjects I study that is condusive to flashcards. Heck- IB stuff is really hard because it's designed to overlap with other subjects (eg: history and economics, English and history, French and English, etc), and they all link back to TOK (which is a whole other kettle of fish... 😂) I love making pretty notes, but I love writing things out too- that's how I learn best. I might format it so it doesn't look like a block of text though. I'll put this into practice over the summer! 😁
I definitely agree that making symbols as prompts helps so much. My history teacher got each group to teach a topic to the rest of the class (ours was uses of the buffalo to the Plains Indians) and we could only use pictures and a maximum of 10 words to jog our memory. We drew symbols for every single use and now our entire group can remember pretty much all of them.
Also, a helpful tool other than writing down flashcards (if you're as lazy as me😂) is tiny cards. It's an app made by duolingo. Basically, it's an app for you to create your own question flashcards, or use what others have made. They have flashcards on everything! It was a life saver to me as I wanted to revise chemistry for my Igcse but was too lazy for all those revision methods. All I needed to do was type 'chemistry igcse' and there were many helpful question flashcards. And it's free! Totally recommended it.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!! you’re such an inspiration :D do you always use physical flashcards, or do you sometimes use online ones (using quizlet or anki)? thanks again for all your videos, i have picked the same options as you for a level and all your tips are SO useful!!
Thank you so much jade I abbreviate words too in my notes too with arrows and diff is different and diffi is difficult and e- is electron and E energy T temperature I thought I wouldn't remember what any of them mean but its reassuring that u do it too!!
I always make my flashcards on my laptop because it's so much faster and neater because I'm a really slow writer and I find handwriting hard to read quickly, especially since my handwriting is so messy. There are also programs and websites that will put the flashcards in an order depending on how well you know the information on each one, which is extremely useful for efficient revision. I also hate writing and I spend most of my time on my laptop so it just makes sense that I do it on my laptop. I can't understand how other people can write flashcards for revision because, if I did, it would be so much slower!
Hi Jade - I just wanted to say thank you for this video, you have such good flash card advice! I'm currently sitting my veterinary finals 😱😥 but this has helped me focus my revision tonight for my equine paper tomorrow 🐎 if only I'd known about the power of drawing little cartoons sooner!
Awhh Alice! Thank you so much ☺️ wow, so much respect for you! Wishing you all the luck for your equine paper (so cool!) and I hope the cartoons can help in future haha! lots of love x
You should do a video on folder organisation, taking notes in class and how you would revise for physics and geography ft. A friend who does these for a-level
Hey! I'm doing my A Levels right now and it's so comforting that you've been through the exact same thing only last year! This was super helpful, thank you :)
Heyy! I really hope this video helps you out in some way 😉
I also just thought I'd point out that there isn't really ever a "right" way to revise, and although these tips have been really useful for me and when helping others, they may not work for you! SAME HERE!🤩💖
So how did it go? 😅 Using flashcards I mean. If you ever did
You are like the big sister I never had 💕
That is such a beautiful comment.

Soo true!
“I’m just a lil gal... trying my best”
Same 😂
I love the fact that she's always smiling and laughing in her videos! Watching her laugh or hearing her voice rise when she's about to laugh makes me laugh for some reason.
MyLittleForest yes, I know right!!!!
Tell me I’m not the only one who would pay MONEYY for her biology and chemistry flash cards to revise from lol
This girl is amazing and soo relatable
Anmol Virdee right !!??
I was just going to make some flash cards for biology tonight, this video couldn’t have been more perfectly timed!! 💗
Liana Haines oh gosh same... biology tonight it is🙊🤗

If you are seeing this I recommend you use the app anki for your flashcards. It uses spaced repetition and does it all for you. You wont regret it
This girl is a legend! So helpful. Just started 3 A-levels and she is a godsend.
WOW IM SO EARLY I LOVE YOU JADE YOU ARE SO AMAZING AHHH I FEEL LIKE EVERYONE JUST NEEDED THIS VIDEO WITH END OF YEARS COMING UP!
When she said summarise
It reminded me of my mom

LIFE SAVER! Never known what to do with my flash cards but you explained it so well! Thank you so muchhhhhh
I’ve really needed a flash cards video. Thanks jade
thank you jade , i've been copy paste my notes into my flashcard and yes my brain was ready to explode until you upload this video, thank you so much !
:) XX
This is soooo helpful and I’ve started using this technique as I’m going into Year 11 soon! Thank you so much for all you do, God bless you! x
I learned quite a few things. But more importantly I was moved by you intelligence and enthusiasm. x
You are such a blessing,I'm a 38 year old lady who is rewriting my matric and it hasn't been easy cause i last Sat in an ex 20yrs ago ,so all the tips are very helpful.
I think your videos are best 💛
here i am watching this type of video while i'm on holidays.. no but honestly i had to leave a comment on this one as this is definitely one of the best revision related videos i've come across to. i love the way you explained everything in a simple but detailed way. i found this very helpful, thank you! i'm very new to your channel but every video i've seen so far has been so well done. i'm not exaggerating, you truly are amazing.
Wow. I can't thank you enough for this; it means more than you know! x
Jade you are the most helpful person on UA-cam!
I was just making a few flashcards for my revision when this came up. THANK YOU SOOOOOOO MUCH JADE, THIS VIDEO WAS A GREAT HELP😄
Omg love this, I use flashcards for everything and I think it will help a lot, thank you so much Jade xx
Hi jade I am doing medicine in Bulgaria right now and your videos r so motivating and all the tips u give r so useful
To me and my sister who’s doing her a levels right now !
that‘s why I love you so muchhhh. you are literally telling exactly in which kind of way to do and not just saying yeah revise flashcards noo you‘re explaining how. thank you so much for all your work and help etc!! can you do something on oral preparations for lessons - so to get a better grade right in the lesson? sorry I‘m a native German speaker so not the best in English ‹3
I love your videos so much they are so helpful and so beautifully put together you are so unbelievably smart and talented and you are going to go so far in life keep doing what you’re doing because you are amazing ❤️
I feel blessed rn , my new school year has started and now I definitely wanted to try using flash cards and here it goes ! Thanks jade 💎❤
I love making pretty notes, but I love writing things out too- that's how I learn best. I might format it so it doesn't look like a block of text though. I'll put this into practice over the summer! 😁
Love you jade! You're such a positive person. I have my exams coming up next week and I feel calm when I watch your videos during breaks. ❤
My mum: Are you revising?
Me: Yeet
- shows mum evidence flashcards-
Mum: Thats a waste of paper!
Me: - shows mum video- think again
Mum: *shook*
I'm about to start my GCSEs soon and I have a different coloured card for every subject which is really useful for finding the cards I want to revise!
Never stop smiling girl😁☺️👍🏼
Also, a helpful tool other than writing down flashcards (if you're as lazy as me😂) is tiny cards. It's an app made by duolingo. Basically, it's an app for you to create your own question flashcards, or use what others have made. They have flashcards on everything! It was a life saver to me as I wanted to revise chemistry for my Igcse but was too lazy for all those revision methods. All I needed to do was type 'chemistry igcse' and there were many helpful question flashcards. And it's free! Totally recommended it.
Ooh that sounds so cool!! Thank you for sharing ☺️ x
You would make a really good teacher!! You are really motivating and helpful!! 😊💙
Only 4 minutes in and I've already learnt how to make effective flashcards 💖 Love you- so proud xxx
I keep re watching your videos. I love them all as much as you 😭❤️
This was so useful as I’m about to start making my gcse flash cards
THANK YOU SO MUCH!! you’re such an inspiration :D
do you always use physical flashcards, or do you sometimes use online ones (using quizlet or anki)?
thanks again for all your videos, i have picked the same options as you for a level and all your tips are SO useful!!
THIS WAS EXTREMELY USEFUL THANK YOU
Thank you so much jade I abbreviate words too in my notes too with arrows and diff is different and diffi is difficult and e- is electron and E energy T temperature I thought I wouldn't remember what any of them mean but its reassuring that u do it too!!
i was struggling how t make flashcards. but with this video my doubts are all cleared thankyou so muchhhhhhh......
Love this video! I would love to see more videos like "how I revise (insert subject here) " and "how I make class notes" or something xx
I literally planned out my revision to specifically do flash cards after this video!! Thank you so much! X
Hey! I'm doing my A Levels right now and it's so comforting that you've been through the exact same thing only last year! This was super helpful, thank you :)
