I was named after Ms. Tina - she was singing with Ike when my mother fell in love with her after hearing her debut album in 1961. I had the privilege of seeing her in concert for my 50th birthday - she was in her early 70s. She wore 3 inch heels, a short short dress, danced, sang and tore that stage UP for several hours! I will never forget it. She is amazing. Thanks for paying your respect to her. RIP Ms. Tina.
I saw her in Chicago this same year. The woman's energy never waned throughout the entire concert. Her dancers rotated on and off stage to catch their breath and Tina just kept going. It was phenomenal and my all time favorite concert memory. RIP Queen Tina. You were a gift beyond measure. ❤❤❤❤❤
Amazing. She was in her 60's and in heels during this performance. I get out of breath just watching her. Love her voice, and she was inspirational for overcoming her past abuses. So glad to have been able to grow up listening to her wonderful music. The woman had some talent.
RIP Queen of Rock. Legends Never die. She left us with some awesome music, a true inspiration for women. Forever known for the best legs in show business. She Simply is The Best and always will be. No one could shimmy across a stage in high heels like Tina.
You are so welcome! I'm so glad we got to have Tina Celebrated on the channel! She truly was an amazing woman and a force of nature. She will be missed, but luckily her music will live on forever! Great job Maggie!
I just love how the "nice and easy" part of this is in such a TIGHT pocket! I said this on Facebook and I'll say it here: Tina Turner is easily the greatest female performer of the last 75 years. And when you consider the other powerhouse female performers in that timeframe (The Supremes, Donna Summer, Diana Ross, Dolly, Whitney, etc.), that is saying a LOT!
I saw her perform this song in Switzerland several times and it was the highlight of the concert every time. We lost a great woman and I am glad she found peace in my country in the last three decades. (Also, she is in her 60s in this video, singing and dancing in high heels... I'm in my 40s and would be dead after 20 seconds of this. So much power.)
God, how is this possible? I can not sit still, when I hear music like that and I am 42 and have a damaged knee (should not really dance, I do not care). Maybe it is, because I started with "rytmische Sport gymnastic" by the age of 5 and always did something sport related. I can not understand that people just never give a sh.... about that. I can dance 2-3 hours, in my 20s, without ecstasy, the whole night! I still love Rock and Metal like nothing else. And, I do not think, that she had "special once", but "dance shoes" are also existing with heels (I have some myself). Sorry, but I truly can not understand it, unless you had a very bad extent, or can not walk since childhood.
Tina was a powerhouse unlike anyone we will ever see again. Electrifying. She hated her voice for a long time, but eventually both she and the rest of the world learned to love it. Just one of the greatest.
I am incapable of watching Tina without simultaneously smiling and crying. She deserved everything good she ever had in life. She's one of the very, very few people on this earth that have inspired me.
You should watch the video for her original recording with Ike. You will see she kept it very much the same in this show. She was known for her energy and her fast moving legs. Other than ballads, this was her style in every performance. She was truly one of a kind. Rest in peace, Tina. You gave us all so much.
I saw this concert, but in Sweden, Göteborg... and she was 60 yrs old...and WAS AAAAAMAZING!!!! So beautiful and kept in good tempo with her dancers. LOOOOVE HER ❤❤❤❤❤❤

This is pure nostalgia on stage. Tina is 60 here and not what she was 20 years earlier. If you really want to see Tina "mash potatoes," you gotta see her perform this piece in her prime. Loved how she teased the audience with that extended introduction. This was the climax performance of the concert. The audience were all fans. And, Tina milked that for all it was worth. Lot of fun.
If you look closely, you can see that one of Tina's backup singers is Gloria Reuben. She was on the TV show E.R., but would take time off from the show to sing for Tina on tours. I heard her explain it in an interview: "Let's see, be on a TV show or tour with a rock legend. Pretty easy decision to make." Since E.R. had an ensemble cast, they worked with not having her on set.
I forget the name of the one they were showing, but the other one is Lisa Fischer. In this concert (my parents have the DVD) when introducing her, Tina notes that she sings with The Rolling Stones, but she says, Tell Mick Jagger she belongs to ME!” Lisa Fischer also sang with Luther Vandross and had an exceptional project of her own. So, yes, props to the background singers!
