It is so historical. I felt so much of American history was held in one place.
Very informative. I don't live in Cleveland but my brother lives in Akron. I try to visit him and his family every year from Seattle. I'm always asking him to go with me to visit this amazing cemetery. It's so surreal compared to others I have been to.
Yes this cemetery is probably one of the most beautiful I have ever visited with so many influential people.
I go here quite often as I live nearby and also have family buried there. Its a fascinating cemetery.

Fascinating collection of very interesting people. I was curious though did they close off the Garfield memorial to inside visitors?
Yes, Covid!!! Such a bummer too but hopefully it will open up again this year. There is usually a docent in the mausoleum as well to answer questions etc.
I don't know if it is still closed to visitors (I was just at the cemetery yesterday), but I know the fencing in this video is no longer there. There's an amazing view from the upper balcony.

Ray Chapman, the only modern era baseball player to be killed by a pitch, is buried in Lake View also.
I believe that’s one of the graves we visited. 😉
Garfield's daughter and son-in-law are also in urns at the feet of Garfield and his wife's caskets in the basement.

My grandfather is buried in all soul cemetery in Chardon, Ohio and the mausoleum right across from his grave is where Chef Boyardee’s final resting place is located
