I have about 1500 hrs on Bannerlord, and I can say I have drastically improved since I started watching your vids. You make the impossible seem merely difficult my friend. Thank you for teaching, educating, and entertaining. (Educating in reference to Napoleon) been watching for a while now.
Same, I was never a tactical guy and just let the AI do its thing while I run rampant on the battlefield. Now I do it all the time and find so much satisfaction in defeating the enemy without losing many troops!
I wanted to state that your advice on life in general is excellent. I have been an adjunct instructor for a little over 10 years and I try to enforce these same concepts to my students. I teach quite a few GED classes as well and many have low self-esteem. I have found this type of advice really helps them. We are definitely our own worst enemy. Self doubt is what I think holds most people back from reaching their full potential, including myself.
Man you are pumping out a lot of content. I did some video editing before and it takes time. Your dedication to your channel is quite impressive. Thank you for videos.
@@HeadlessHorsemanProductions I love the music man. Very epic feeling. By the way, I can't hear your mouse clicks. Everything is good. A good mod for the starving is "Quit starving yourself".
I was defending a siege of a castle and this one had a secondary fallback point. I defended at the walls. The older me would have been stubborn and tried to fight them off the walls. So I fell my troops back because I was outnumbered 3 to 5 to 1. Your videos helped me to get better at sieges. That decision to hold the inner walls made the enemy funnel into a chokepoint where I could defend. thank you for doing these videos!
The Square formation tip... It's so obvious that it isn't obvious at all! Thanks, this'll help me a lot! Finally, one thing I often do with less than 30 archers in a group is use line formation instead of spread out and line them up in two ranks. It takes less space and allows everyone to shoot, and most importantly, allows them to rush in even quicker when there's a breach. It doesn't always work, and I'm not criticizing your tactics, you clearly have a lot more experience. I'm just hoping the few things I have observed also help you out in the future. And I'll always keep "It's better to swing and whiff than to get stuck up close" in mind from now on! Also: Two Steps From Hell is absolutely the perfect music for all these Epic Siege videos. Imho, your videos have the perfect fusion of music, narration and gameplay in terms of audio and are always an absolute thriller to watch. I think it was "Protectors of the Earth" playing near the end where the AI failed to understand you wanted archers on the stairs, again, perfect music. Also also: The moment when I see "Sturgian Warrior", "Imperial Infantryman", or some other tier 2 infantry on a green kill message after several minutes of grueling keep defense... That's more relieving than the best massages in the world.
love the philosophical / life advice as other people have commented. really great stuff for everyone to hear, esp while Zuvan hacks ppl to smithereens.
I have a request, yesterday I was besieging a valandian castle I think it was Caleus castle (the one in the varcheg bay) and found the castle was split in two by a narrow bridge, I immediately thought of you and how you could use such a unique castle for an epic siege
i know this castle.. not sure if he's covered it in Epic Siege yet but it would be great to see. i got fucked in that castle because i let that west wing fall, so dudes were rolling up the rear into the main courtyard.
New subscriber been loving your videos and learning a lot about siege defence and general tactics! Keep up the awesome videos your narration is super entertaining I can sit through an hour long video like it’s nothing
The biggest tragedy of this battle: The savior high end infantry block that showed up to make that square.....all those javelins those boys had that never got thrown. Quick question: When you blow up a siege tower, do you tend to abandon that side completely or keep a token force there to head-off any rally point troops that might head over and accumulate?
I'm a Playstation vanilla player. I've always pulled those troops to new spots for another vantage point. Ladders don't seem to spawn after a siege tower is destroyed for me
@@Warmachine643 sorry if i wasn't clear. i meant when the AI sometimes will just climb one side, then stow a bunch of troops inside the random fief towers to mass a huge group before rushing down.
@@anubisftnif you break the siege tower, the AI cant get up from that side since ladders wont spawn. But if the siege tower makes it to the wall, or there are ladders, sometimes the AI will pile up units there, which is probably what you're seeing. In this case, you can do a few things, like get archers to shoot at them (they do hold up shields, but shields break eventually and some arrows sneak trough anyways, so you will get some kills). You can also trowh rocks at them if you have any left. If you have javelins or javelin units, that can also be used to trowh at them (they generally wont move until they gather enough units or some other division comes in from another side, so they are easy targets and you can hit them from close, increasing damage). Aside from that, you can prepare for them to come down with units at the foot of the ladders and archer support (they have to move eventually, your archers have infinite arrows so they cant afford to stay there forever). By yourself, you can walk up and hit them with a longer reach weapon to bait one unit to move and let down his shields, making him an easy target for your archers. If you have nothing else to do, repeat this and play it safe so that you dont get hit. You can also loot javelins and hit them (even better if you have the shield piercing perk), or if you have a bow keep shooting at their feet or at any units without a shield. Same for crossbow. In short, hit them until they move and prepare for them to move. You have infinite ammo, so use it
I have spent 430ish hours building a solo kingdom in campaign, and I have taken over most of vlandia, using a lot of ur tactics, it’s hard but not impossible
An epic siege once again! I am having a problem defending rovalt in my case(500 against 2100 battanians) Tried several times but they keep overrunning me eventually. Big problem i got is that it slopes down from the gate into the city and i can't figure out where to set my archers up for good infalate fire. I am using squares and the other tactics you tought us but in the end they keep overrunning me. Do you have a video where you defend rovalt? Great video, love to watch pixelated slaughter 😊
I have not defended that City yet but your description of it makes it sound like a very hard defense especially outnumbered four to one. I can go take a look at it and see if there's some key to defending it that you may not have discovered but there are some cities that are just s*** for siege defense. And thank you!
@HeadlessHorsemanProductions if you could have a look about some probable tactics that would be great! For the moment i choose to barter peace but rovalt is still my city so future sieges will come. For now i am laying down the law on the vlandians 😁
@@aBeekeepersLife GOT YOU covered! Sorry for the caps, but I just filmed this custom battle at Rovalt last night and discovered some great ways to defend Rovalt. Uploading now - hopefully today or tomorrow :)
Just noticed today that if you're resting in a town with an active tournament, and you've got a companion who's very good at melee, he'll enter the tournament even if you don't and most likely win. Must be a patch thing, pretty sure that didn't used to happen.
I used to shieldwall at the gate until I found your channel and watching you use square instead of shield wall. At first i was wondering why you werent using shieldwall until i tried myself of course I still dont defend the gate most of the time except for a few, cuz theres a different area i could defend
Hi Tactical. Can you pls share your crafting recipe for your two handed axe. I know it's a fast two handed axe, I'm guessing it's around 90 units in length. Northern broad Head I think. Edit. Not to worry. Saw it at the end when you're in your inventory. Fine bearded axe. 99 swing speed. 97 cut. 93 length for anyone who wanted to also know. 👍
I know you don’t like to see the scoreboard during a fight; but could you like flash it on screen quick for us at various stages? For example, would be cool to see how many kills you’re getting from the catapults and bomb chucking stages, or where you’re at when you have to retreat to a secondary position, etc.
11:22 well the AI isnt suposed to use those rocks unless they are in sergeants take control orders. Saving the limited rocks for the actually skilled player
I was thinking that that modd made the lords better and thus allowing them to feild better armys. But looking at this video that modds just let the Ai outright cheat, buy fielding armys that they can neather neither fund or feed. Watching that force seige you with zero food stocks yet not starving is bogus, and the modd seems to have the opposite effect on your settlement having 5000+ food and still starving. Great for content though.
Yeah, it's not perfect, it's just another way to enjoy the game. Properly fine tuned, Bannerlord is an amazing game. We're stuck modding though or it's kinda wonky.
