In some way, as Italians, we are too familiar with such beautiful places that we take them for granted. I used to go to the Dolomites for holiday since when I was child, at that time I did not rally realised their beauty, they just were “the mountains “. Only after years spent in other places, when I came back as adult, I really saw what incredible and touching beauty I had in front of me. I think the heaven must be like this.

@nigelandsueadventures It is already impossible for an Italian to visit all the places that deserve to be seen in a lifetime, I imagine for a tourist how difficult it is to choose. You have chosen the top of our mountains
I was there for two weeks a decade ago and I cried when I left. I've loved many places I've visited everywhere in the world, but when I left the Dolomites it was as if I was leaving a little bit of my heart there and I felt a sort of longing as I moved further away. I believe places have energies that affect us individually in different ways - there was clearly something in the Dolomites that touched something deep within me.

The Dolomites used to be sea cliffs, that's why they are so unusual and jaggered. Quite a few marine fossiles were found there. Proof of how much our Earth has changed face and shape throughout its ages.
Oh my God, what a beautiful place, so envious, we have visited the Dolomites on a coach tour but didn’t get to see the amazing scenery you both saw. Thank you so much for showing us, keep on enjoying, looking forward to revisiting Venice through your eyes. Regards Bill and Lorraine
Had similar emotional response to the Cadini di Misurina and Tre Cime di Lavaredo, although anywhere you go in that part of the Dolomites, it's bliss 😍 Hope you get well soon and feel better. Flying over Seceda was an amazing idea, congrats on the courage!

Wonderful video!! Welcome to Italy, a country with the wonders of nature, art, culture, history, and great food all in one. It's beautiful to see so many people appreciating all of this, and those who do are always welcome and our friends. We are happy to welcome you in the best possible way and to send you home with beautiful memories and a smile.
As a child, I spent a month in Belluno during the summer vacation. I am now nearly seventy y.o. but that time is embedded in my mind as part of my best memories.
I cried too, at the same place! We visited in August just before the world lock down, and had the best surprise, heavy snowfall overnight. It was even more beautiful for it. We had to queue for the car park to open as they were snow clearing. Cattle with their bells accompanied by herders on horses walked the path with us. It was a day dreams are made of. We did Venice afterwards too! Happy travels you two.
I too get very emotional when seeing the beauty of nature, you just get overwhelmed . Always thought I was being ridiculously oversensitive, loved to see that I am not alone. Sending hugs , hope you are feeling better.
The Dolomites are by far the best mountains I've been to so far. I've been there multiple times in summer for hiking and holy cow it has everything. Pretty lakes, dense woods of pine trees, and even lunar-like environments up beyond 2500 m above sea level.
It makes me so happy that you appreciate the beauty of the Italian dolomites.... the christmas atmosphere will get more intense as you get closer to christmas in he mountains..its unique... enjoy and be happy there because you will never forget it...

I recommend you read - The White War: Life and Death on the Italian Front 1915-1919 by Mark Thompson. It tells the history of the war that was fought in the dolomites and that rarely gets a mention in the Anglo sphere history of World War 1. This front was more brutal even than the Western Front as the conditions the soldiers fought and died in were extreme. Many Italian towns have a Via Veneto, named after the battle of Vittorio Veneto where the Austrians and Germans were finally defeated. Fellini’s most famous film, La Dolce Vita, is centred around Via Veneto in Rome.
Sorry. Veneto is more commonly the region around Venice. Same word is often used as an adjective meaning from Veneto, the region. Via Veneto in Rome is named after the region. Cheers.
So true. Not to mention that the Italian army won that war against the Austro-Hungarians without any significant help from British or American soldiers, apart from a few small contingents of volunteers employed in Red Cross missions (as can also be seen in Hemingway's famous novel A Farewell to Arms).
Was just thinking about this and going to comment. Italian soldiers lifted a 1 1/2 ton cannon from the bottom to the very peak that helped change the tide of war in their favor, considered one of the most amazing feats of both world wars. Some called that front the most difficult of WWI. Just hiking a few days most people can't take the cold or climbing any more. Imagine them fighting battles non stop for 3 years, an incredible feat that cost hundreds of thousands of lives. And the Allies then refused to honor their commitment to Italy in territory gains which later led to Italy siding with Germany in WWII.
thanks all who have commented here. We knew there was war history in this area, but you've really enlightened us. We will definitely check out some of those historic places on our next visit.

thank you so much for sharing and loving "our" mountains, which we love deeply😎 Sono i nostri posti del cuore, quelli che visitiamo quasi tutti gli anni...non posso negare che, dopo centinaia di km passati sui sentieri delle Dolomiti, alla vista delle 3 cime ho pianto pure io (forse non ero preparato alla magnificenza "improvvisa" arrivando dal Paterno) E' qualcosa di indescrivibile, da provare almeno una volta nella vita...il top lo si raggiunge però, arrivandoci a piedi (con fatica) partendo dalla Val Fiscalina e passando dai rifugi Zsigmondy-Comici e Pian di Cengia, poi costeggiando il Monte Paterno, giro assolutamente incredibile!❤(unica pecca è che ci si perde i Cadini di Misurina)

The truly beautiful things in life are free.
Love, friendship, animals etc. and, of course, nature.
Must beautiful country on the planet...❤from Genova
Amo le Dolomiti 💚🤍♥️ Italia tutta bella. Viva il mio Bel Paese! ✨🙏☀️
Fantastic scenery, lived in British Columbia Canada for a few years in the early 70's and the scenery in your video is certainly up there. Hard to replace your memories and experiences. Great work and thanks! Bill MC
That’s so true Bill. I haven’t been to Canada yet, but Nigel has spent a bit of time flying there
Grazie
Beyond spectacular!
Thanks! We loved it.
Bellissimo! Such beautiful scenery and it is amazing. Once again thanks for taking me along with you.
Thanks for being with us Glenda!
Well,I am so grateful to have seen, thru your eyes, such a breathtakingly beautiful and majestic tour of the dolomites....I'm not sure what else to say....I understand the tears, such an emotional experience to be surrounded by such beauty....thank you for taking the time to share....deb,
Cheers Deb, Glad you enjoyed the film. It really is just a majestical place - even better in real life!
The Dolomites used to be sea cliffs, that's why they are so unusual and jaggered. Quite a few marine fossiles were found there. Proof of how much our Earth has changed face and shape throughout its ages.
It's amazing to think that isn't it? We discovered similar things in the centre of Australia too.
I imagine a Coach tour goes through quite quickly, we spent about 10 days there (plus time spent sick in bed!)
Had similar emotional response to the Cadini di Misurina and Tre Cime di Lavaredo, although anywhere you go in that part of the Dolomites, it's bliss 😍
Hope you get well soon and feel better.
Flying over Seceda was an amazing idea, congrats on the courage!
Yeah it was a pretty cool adventure!
I live very close to alps and every time I go skiing, hiking or riding my bike i feel so glad and lucky to live in such beautiful gorgeous place.
Hope you had a warm hug from my compatriots!
My mountains, grew up there. Thank you.
You're welcome. What a beautiful place to grow up!
Posti magici bellissimi....Amazing video!
Grazie!!🙏 glad you enjoyed it!
I was 10 years old when my parents took me there for the first time and I had the exact same reaction !
A unique place in the fantastic world !

Sometimes you can't explain how beautiful the view is you just have to see it. It's then embedded in your memories for ever.
That’s it. And honestly pictures and video don’t do it justice!
Thank you for sharing this beautiful Place ❤❤
Thank you for watching Susie 🧡
WOW Guys that vid was truely stunning ❤❤❤
Thanks 👍
Glad you enjoyed it, we really loved travelling through this area.
Oh wow. I have no words other than beautiful😊
Yeah it can leave you speechless 😶
As a child, I spent a month in Belluno during the summer vacation.
I am now nearly seventy y.o. but that time is embedded in my mind as part of my best memories.
In Italy we have all
We love Italy so much!
anche i gaggi che si pavoneggiano
@@titanio784 hahahha fa parte dell ambiente italiano :D
I cried too, at the same place! We visited in August just before the world lock down, and had the best surprise, heavy snowfall overnight. It was even more beautiful for it. We had to queue for the car park to open as they were snow clearing. Cattle with their bells accompanied by herders on horses walked the path with us. It was a day dreams are made of. We did Venice afterwards too! Happy travels you two.
Spectacular I’m jealous have a great time
Thanks Michael, it's so beautiful here.
So glad you have discovered snow & curt. Absolutely stunning scenery guys & the landscape changes so much in such a short time
Thanks!! We’ve been following them for ages!!
I too get very emotional when seeing the beauty of nature, you just get overwhelmed . Always thought I was being ridiculously oversensitive, loved to see that I am not alone. Sending hugs , hope you are feeling better.
thanks Jane - not overly sensitive at all, in our book! Feeling much better now thank you.
Magical is exactly right. Love following your journeys and glad you recuperated well after getting a virus.
Thanks Terri, it really sucks being sick when you're travelling - especially when I was bed-ridden on perfect blue sky days.
Thanks for bringing such a stunning place to our lounge room.
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching! 🧡
The Dolomites are by far the best mountains I've been to so far. I've been there multiple times in summer for hiking and holy cow it has everything. Pretty lakes, dense woods of pine trees, and even lunar-like environments up beyond 2500 m above sea level.
One of the highlights of our time in Italy!
I am overwhelmed by the scale and beauty of the mountains and I'm just watching on my laptop!
We were blown away too, the scale of it is amazing!
It makes me so happy that you appreciate the beauty of the Italian dolomites.... the christmas atmosphere will get more intense as you get closer to christmas in he mountains..its unique... enjoy and be happy there because you will never forget it...
STUNNING!! Thanks for sharing such an emotional experience.
Thanks for watching Geoff - I just wish I'd been feeling healthier to enjoy it properly.
I live in San Vito di Cadore ❤❤❤ thank you for this beautiful video of the mountains here and for sharing !!! It is beautiful ❤ and it is so amazing to know that my homeland gave you these wonderful emotions and you liked it so much . Thank you..... thank you 😊😊😊😊
We loved it so much. All of Italy is beautiful, and for so many different reasons.
So beautiful 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹❤️
I used to work for years in a hotel on the way to Passo Giau.
Few years later i was working in Phuket on a breathtaking seaview but my heart was and still is on those mountains❤️
Buon proseguimento 👍🤗
Few places in the world can match the beauty of the Mountain landscape of the Dolomiti, One of then being Torres del Paine, chilean Patagonia.
magical is the word ! thanks for sharing tips and beautiful pictures !
You're welcome, thanks for watching.
I live in the eastern alps in friuli near the dolomites. Its heartwarming to see this video. Lots of love! I suggest you to visit the Saint Mountain of Lussari and the Sanctuary of Castelmonte. Breathtaking places, really 💌
Welcome in Italy. Enjoy your wonderful trip on this wonderful country. And ..... enjoy our Spritz 😂
Grazie! We've definitely been enjoying a lot of Spritz!
Hi thank you for this amazing journey. ❤️❤️👋🇨🇦
Thanks for watching! Have you been to the Dolomites?
I live in Liguria in Italy and every summer I just have to go for a week in the Dolomites... They are so beautiful...
I would too if I lived so close!
❤ this was beautiful and thankyou for sharing ❤. Hope you are feeling better
Thank you so much! It was a nasty virus and even after this video I spent another couple of days recovering.
New subscriber - Tassie - Aussies, but with Northern Italian family, who live pre Dolomiti’s….
We have explored all that area on many visits, and just adore the views.
I look forward to looking at your past videos and future ones.
Oh thanks so much Denise. We absolutely loved Tasmania - I hope you enjoy watching that series. We still have a good amount of time to explore Italy though - we are about to head south from Rome.
Beautiful couple in an amazing place......oh yes this is my favourite place in my Italy
Awww thank you!
thank you so much for sharing and loving "our" mountains, which we love deeply😎
Thank you for this video, and for the nice words too, greetings from italy 👍
We love your beautiful country and the people 🧡🧡
This is my homeland, hope you felt welcomed ! Come back soon 😊
Thanks! 😃 the Italian people have been lovely and very welcoming.
