The Dolomites, being in them is almost a religious experience. Have ridden through them on a motorcycle several times, would always stop at a certain bench on Passo Giau & take them all in. Simply beautiful. Great video, hope you are feeling better.
Nigel and Sue what another amazing video, what a place, Coen and I just wanted to jump on a place and get there. That is my kind of country, I love the cold. Safe travels and already hanging out for the next video 😃
Well,I am so grateful to have seen, thru your eyes, such a breathtakingly beautiful and majestic tour of the dolomites....I'm not sure what else to say....I understand the tears, such an emotional experience to be surrounded by such beauty....thank you for taking the time to share....deb,
@nigelandsueadventures It is already impossible for an Italian to visit all the places that deserve to be seen in a lifetime, I imagine for a tourist how difficult it is to choose. You have chosen the top of our mountains
Just love the honesty of you two - showing your emotional reaction to the stunning scenery around you - and one of you is a Kiwi, used to such majestic mountains in NZ! I probably won’t ever get to where you have been so thanks for sharing. Travel safely.
Wow 😮 great job on your videos and narration of your wonderful journey. The videos were exceptional as the soundtrack was well chosen. Bravo 👏👏 to you both considering your illness. So looking forward to your next video and experience. Stay healthy and safe. ❤ from Melbourne Australia 🦘
OMG guys we also cried in Seceda!! Glad you guys are feeing better and THAAAAANKS for the great parkups tips! We plan to go back in a few years and your tips are very helpful!! We also missed out on Tre Cime and lived seeing your footage! It feels like the moon!!! I cannot wait to experience this!!
One of my all time absolute favourite places in the world…. Breath taking from every vantage point, 🙏🙏 for sharing as I am missing everything Italian and what a stunning way to come back down …bravo 👏👏👏
Wow you were not kidding Sue and Nigel this week was amazing. And your decent Woot Woot. So sorry you caught a loogie. Not fun at all to be sick when there are adventures outside the van just waiting to be had.
Hi Nigel and Susie wow what a beautiful place that top of the mountain was absolutely spectacular thank you for taking us there , I really love and appreciate what you do for these videos. Keep up the good work Cliff from Logan city Queensland, Australia 🇦🇺 i’m on the big island 🏝️
Sitting here Saturday afternoon in Wainuiomata, New Zealand, enjoying this spectacular video, the scenery, the Dolomites, the lake, the colours! Im even more determined to travel around Europe, take or hire a road/MTB. Thanks for such wonderful perspective.
It’s so long since the first time I saw Uluru, I don’t remember. But there have been a few times I’ve cried at beautiful places. Thanks for sharing that Craig.
Had similar emotional response to the Cadini di Misurina and Tre Cime di Lavaredo, although anywhere you go in that part of the Dolomites, it's bliss 😍 Hope you get well soon and feel better. Flying over Seceda was an amazing idea, congrats on the courage!
You guys are brilliant film makers, it must take days to edit these films, add the music, the narrative, brilliant stuff, Nigel you're a top pilot, brilliant shots.
Cheers Geoffo - it does take 2-3 days to edit most of them. It's my full time job while Nigel is away working in the Middle East. We always aim to improve at least 1% on every film.
Cheers man. Sue’s editing skills are amazing. She should be really proud of how far she’s come. It’s been an incredible journey filled with learning as we go. The new drone is a weapon and I still have much improving to do in that area. Not losing it again would be a good start!😬
Fantastic scenery, lived in British Columbia Canada for a few years in the early 70's and the scenery in your video is certainly up there. Hard to replace your memories and experiences. Great work and thanks! Bill MC
Snow and Curts adventures have all been wonderful too. You all have so much in common! That height was terrifying to me! Thank you for bringing this beautiful destination to my attention again, even though it's quite scary!
Wow, I would have been crying too...actually I was crying with you lol. But I would have been screaming during the paraglide lol What a wonderful adventure
New subscriber - Tassie - Aussies, but with Northern Italian family, who live pre Dolomiti’s…. We have explored all that area on many visits, and just adore the views. I look forward to looking at your past videos and future ones.
Oh thanks so much Denise. We absolutely loved Tasmania - I hope you enjoy watching that series. We still have a good amount of time to explore Italy though - we are about to head south from Rome.
Oh my God, what a beautiful place, so envious, we have visited the Dolomites on a coach tour but didn’t get to see the amazing scenery you both saw. Thank you so much for showing us, keep on enjoying, looking forward to revisiting Venice through your eyes. Regards Bill and Lorraine
Reminds me of cycle touring across the USA and seeing the Tetons for the first time and then Yellowstone National Park. Bought a little Fiat Caravelle 900 campervan (Similar to a Bongo Van) back in the eighties and tripped around the UK and Europe, could of spent years there, but home was calling.
Well l was in a bus travelling over the Himalayas, 5 passes and the highest was 18,500 ft 😂, so 7,500ft would be a walk in a park 😂. But looks like you had an awesome trip anyway. ❤😊
Wow, just wow. I can understand why you were so moved by the magnificence of those craggy mountains and views, especially with the autumn colours. Beautiful film and editing work too. You have captured the Dolomites superbly. I didn't know much about this region. It is certainly spectacular. Seems more German than Italian, with the architecture and place names though. I gather it is still part of Italy that was formerly German or Austrian? Not being one for heights, bits were challenging for me to watch, but glad I persisted. Nature is just so amazing and the geography and geology here incredible. Geez it looked cold though, all that snow and ice and freezing super deep lakes fed by glaciers, certainly conveyed it being freezing. I think my very favourite part was you two in the cafe having your Aperol spritzes. I'm sure I have seen movies set in exactly that spot. Maybe one with Audrey Hepburn in it. That final scene up the top with the van way below was so cool too. You were both so brave to fly down from the mountain, but hiking without poles and all that ice and snow, was probably more dangerous. I'm pretty sure I will never make it to the Dolomites in this lifetime, so thanks for taking me along for the ride!
Thanks so much Fiona! Not sure if you saw our last video - we explained there that part of the Dolomites is in a region called South Tyrol which was part of the Austrian-Hungarian empire until 1919. Hence the Germanic influence. It’s such a beautiful part of the world, this was a big edit and I’m glad we’ve got this to look back on forever!
@@nigelandsueadventures Yeah I did, Was not sure whether the previous episode was also the Dolomites, Just the time gap I guess. So enjoy your videos. Thanks so much to the time and effort you put in to producing them!
Thanks for another great vid of your Euro adventures. Would be great to see a video on the differences between vanning in Europe v Australia. Could cover availability of free camps, ease of stealth camping, toll roads, availability of water, ideal campervan size and make for Europe, ease of finding laundromats, are there any differences in how you would build a Euro van v Aussie van etc. This could be a useful video for Aussies wanting to tour Europe and also for Europeans wanting to travel Oz
We check the official web pages for the countries we are visiting to keep up to date with the regulations. Flying a drone under 250grams has a lot less restrictions. In places like Seceda there are signs everywhere saying No Drones, and we always comply with those. Nigel is a helicopter pilot, so he totally understands the danger! If a drone and a paraglider collided, that could be very nasty!
I recommend you read - The White War: Life and Death on the Italian Front 1915-1919 by Mark Thompson. It tells the history of the war that was fought in the dolomites and that rarely gets a mention in the Anglo sphere history of World War 1. This front was more brutal even than the Western Front as the conditions the soldiers fought and died in were extreme. Many Italian towns have a Via Veneto, named after the battle of Vittorio Veneto where the Austrians and Germans were finally defeated. Fellini’s most famous film, La Dolce Vita, is centred around Via Veneto in Rome.
haha, they actually sell it in the Tesco supermarket near my son's house in London, so I stocked up before we went back to the continent. Only these teeny jars though, so I have to get several. I hate to think when we run out again.
Hi Nigel mate I can’t help but think the lack of Nigel dives may have contributed to your recent ill health. Walking on an icy track on the top of a mountain is a bit dodgy. Stay safe
That's excactly my ski holiday from the escalators and lifts, I've never seen that second lift so quite, we get out of that second lift and take the 10 km piste, best place in the world
Absolutely stunning, what a wonderful vlog ... thank you ❤
Our pleasure! Thanks for watching!
The Dolomites, being in them is almost a religious experience. Have ridden through them on a motorcycle several times, would always stop at a certain bench on Passo Giau & take them all in. Simply beautiful. Great video, hope you are feeling better.
Yeah, we were really sad we weren't able to drive over the mountain pass. NEXT TIME!!!
Nigel and Sue what another amazing video, what a place, Coen and I just wanted to jump on a place and get there. That is my kind of country, I love the cold. Safe travels and already hanging out for the next video 😃
Magical is exactly right. Love following your journeys and glad you recuperated well after getting a virus.
Thanks Terri, it really sucks being sick when you're travelling - especially when I was bed-ridden on perfect blue sky days.

Cheers Deb, Glad you enjoyed the film. It really is just a majestical place - even better in real life!
Sometimes you can't explain how beautiful the view is you just have to see it. It's then embedded in your memories for ever.
That’s it. And honestly pictures and video don’t do it justice!
Loves this video guys 😊 absolutely stunning ❣️
Thanks Sandy and Tim! Such an epic location - about as different from the outback red dirt as you can get!
