Hearing TB's name in conjunction with this game is giving me such nostalgia. Him, Jesse, and Dodger laughing their asses off after Crendor put himself in the brig is my favorite Co-Optional/TGS moment.
I still come back to it on occasion.
I also still go back to that stream, Crendor's play is truly amazing!

He also forgot to be losing cards every turn...
He's keeping track of a lot, it's human error to forget small things. I love this game, but there's a lot of moving parts to keep in mind, on top of the fact you essentially have to be 'mind-playing' the other players, as to their motivations and actions.

Its the absolute worst in a manipulation game where you make a mistake, and you cant say you did cause you know the evil buggers will pile on you

Yep, he mistook 'positive count' on the cards as being 'I won't get sent to the brig', when the proposal was to put him in the brig. Didn't quite catch that he needed to put 'negative count' cards in to fail the proposal.
I came to the comment SPECIFICALLY to see if someone else remembers that glorious game.
When I saw this video in my sub box just now, I remembered good ol' TB. May that glorious, insufferable prick rest in peace. I still miss 'em.

Lewis: "why are you wasting so many cards on this vote?!"
Lewis less than a minute later: "its fine Daltos, we'll just use your second action to vote for you again!"
I REALLY hope Lewis turns out to be a cylon because thats such a misplay if not

Whenever my friends and I played this game, one of them always played as Gaius. And every time he was President Gaius "Cylon" Baltar.

@@jcskyknight2222 Absolutely you have to in this situation. Espeically when someone says they put all those 4 greens in, becuase you are also throwing shade at them when they were honest.
In fact, the correct play is to admit it, and ask to be checked ASAP by Baltar.

Can I just say, I loved Duncan's power play waaaay at the start, that most of them barely even noticed, where he made a point of saying something about how all the not-Cylon cards had a picture of Baltar on them, as if he had one?
He got two cards. So he had one not-clyon card! But still a great play.
But he had one!

Lewis is as good at sussing people out here as he is in TTT. That is to say he is painfully wrong most of the time.
I love this game but... Daltos is always just such a destructive wildcard that it's impossible to play a hidden role game with him in it regardless.
Which means you should brig him anyway.

Even though I spent the entire game staring at Ben’s “not a Cylon” card, I was shocked when it turned out not to be him, just because of his sly, smug look at the camera while he played a negative card on a fairly important check.

Beware this game, I'm still bitter about the time I called both out cylons by round 2 but ended up getting thrown in the brig. :P
That said I was playing Starbuck and apparently no one listens to her in the show either so maybe it tracks.

Similar thing happened to me.
I was the President, managed to find a Cylon with the Release Cylon Mugshots card on turn 1, and nobody bloody believed me.
"I'm going to help you get out of the brig... I'm going to make it 2 harder to get out of the brig."
That's a player I won't be playing with again.
Probably the best game I own and the best I've ever played. There are so many moments that have happened in our games that we still talk about 10 years later.
Some advice for Cylons who want to reveal: if someone gives you an Executive Order, don't blow your reveal on the first action. Do something harmful to the humans for the first action then reveal. Also, it's best to do it when your turn is coming up rather than just having passed. You want to make sure your first full Cylon turn is close by to really hit them hard before they can regroup from your betrayal.

If we couldn't see Ben's role card from the beginning I would totally think he was a cylon. For at least the first half of this video he is making terrible decisions and he is the "expert" on the game.
I remember watching TB, Jesse Cox, Crendor and possibly Dodger play this years ago. Jesse was the Cylon, and did nothing, still won the game. His game plan is just to let all the good guys self destruct. Though i'm still not sure how Crendor locked himself in the jail.....
Ben got the destination card wrong and didn't get the 2nd fuel =(

Ben also put a -2 in a skill check by accident and didn't come clean.

Always love some Battlestar Galactica Board Games.
So I know the rules only have 2 Cylon cards, but imagine adding more. Everyone is a cylon and noone knows lol. Imagine 5 players all trying to pretend to be real.
Man that would be so funny if the players had no idea about the additional Cylon cards. Imagine if the Cylons lost :D
The game is too brutal for that, it'd be over pretty quick.
When I first starting playing this with family and friends we had an 8 player game with 3 cylons. Doesn't end well for humans.
I'm so happy they are playing this again! Hopefully we see more :)
Played this game for the first time last night with my group. With 6 players (all newbs) it took 2 hours for 3 turns each!!!!!
So obviously we have arranged to play it properly tomorrow night!!!
Wonderful to see you playing BSG again! Some notes on rules in case you're interested:
- Pilots can spend an Action to activate their Viper (to move or attack), but cannot convert their Movement step move to an action (unless they have Critical Situation, but you weren't playing with any expansions) (Rulebook, p. 26).
- In a Skill Check activated by an XO'd player the first player to play their cards is the one to the left of the current player (who played the XO), not left of the XO'd player (p. 16, also Corey Konieczka himself via BGG BSG FAQ).
- Destiny Cards are added first to a Skill Check (so with vanilla Investigative Committee everyone can see them before playing their cards) (p. 16). Still, the way you played it was effectively Pegasus ICs which are better anyway (although kind of assume you also have Guts and Initiative available).
The game is supposed to be uncertain. If you say to someone "I put in 2 or 3 of this colour" then your not playing properly, you should say 'I put in cards' or 'I helped'.

I know it turned out they were right, but preemptively moving civilian ships before raiders spawn is a decent move. Shit can go downhill in 2 turns in this game.
Daltos: I can't say why I suspect him becasue that's metagaming.

Loved this the first time they played it and so happy they played it again. Would love to see a dead of winter playthrough or star wars rebellion, spirit Island again.

Wtf is with Daltos? He's getting upset about people suspecting him because he was suspecting someone else first for no valid reason, and being an ass about it. He's upset about people doing a thing to him when he did that thing first in a more aggressive manner.
But when he did it it was reasonable and made sense

@@nfk2311 He was correct but brigging over it instantly was unreasonable. And sabotaging skill checks everyone is trying to win is fucking stupid. Duncan was shifty yeah but what Daltos did in response was even more sus.
Some rules you guys got wrong: pilots who are flying vipers can not use their movement to activate their viper, only their action. Their movement can only be used to move the viper.
Also in a skill check, destiny cards are always put in first. This is important when they are played openly due to a politics card.
Lastly an XO does not allow a cylon player to reveal themselves AND perform an action as cylon, because the moment they are revealed, they become unaffected by skill cards, including that XO.
another major error was misreading "Thirty three". The crisis doesn't go to the top, it shuffles in. It may come up in the future, but not necessarily next crisis.

I know nothing about battlestar galactica. But this was a fun watch
Really felt the pain with Ben when he accidentally threw a -4 at that crisis. I would have admitted it and apologized though. Just remind them that he at first counted the launch scout as good, he made a mistake by thinking purples were positive. They can be suss all they want but if he owned up to it quickly with remorse and volunteered to go to the brig it would be hard to actually justify suspicion.
When is the new battleboys coming out
In regards to the bomb threat card, taking the dice roll option to me reads more like:
Terrorist/Cylon: "There is a bomb!"
Bon: "I'm calling your bluff, there's no bomb!"
Random NPC: "Uh... no? There's absolutely a bomb there."
Bon: "~What do you mean there's a bomb??~"

Immediately after Daltos revealed he was a Cylon, I had the thought "Duncan usually likes to play the long-con and betray at the last second".
That said, even after the last Cylon was revealed, I am still surprised it wasn't Lewis. Calls Duncan and everyone but Daltos out for acting suspicious wanting to waste cards on a second vote, ignoring the fact that the only reason there needed to be a vote is Daltos and Lewis were the only one's wanting the change.

I dunno whether the spoilers are too much of a problem when you watch the show. Many of the episodes stand well on their own, so spoilers for the overarching story aren’t too bad.
The show mainly stands on individual episodes and arcs. I don´t think even spoiling the end really matters that much.

Where in the rules does it say that a move in a viper can be used as an attack? I see where an action can be used as a second move, but not the reverse.
RAW the destiny cards are played into skill checks before players put their cards in. Dunno if ye are homebrewing but it's dangerous!
I am 5 for 5 in games where the humans had 0% chance for victory.
In the best game I ever played, we got within sight of earth, and then the two Cylons revealed themselves and hit us with two Super Crises on top of each other and we failed horribly.
In the rest of the games, we failed so hard, the cylon/s were bored as they needed to do nothing and won anyway.
I have been told that 4 of the games I've played are in the bottom 10% of games in general, and the best one is still in the bottom 30%, but I musty admit I've lost all faith in this game.

with a 5 player table and 2 cylons around 1/20

@@IamtheTolle the odds of one cylon being the president is 2/5, which I forgot to take into the first time, assuming the same person person cant be president twice in a row for this scenario, then 1/4 canidates are cylons, bringing us to a rough total of 2/5 * 1/4 = 2/20 or 1/10.
@@Phoenix-hz1bp actually i think 9ts better than that even, because one of them had 3 loyalty cards making him 50 percent more likely to be cylon
