yep, my dad just got posted to Kargil, and we'll be taking the c 17 from Delhi or Chandigarh to Leh and then via road to Kargil.

Boeing C-17 Globemaster is one of the best Military Transport Aircraft. Now India is also going to have Airbus C-295M Transport Aircraft which also one of the Best in its league.

They need to order according to their budget and needs. They can’t get it whenever they like
@@viswajitbala7924 iaf in a press briefing stated that it neede more transport aircraft but globe master 3 is out of production and we have very limited options in tactical lift capability

First of all, it’s called Chinook. It’s a helicopter not a plane. It can be weaponised and it’s has dual rotor engines.

We only lost one C130. That too while doing a high risk exercise. I agree with him on "Make Here"
@@asi2765 man,just for the sake of 2-3 planes, you will do tot ??? You know making things on license will always cost more than direct purchase ??
I'll explain, lets take an example of 22 ah 64 E longbow helicopter deal,its worth total of 2.2 billion dollars for 22 choppers,now if we try to make them here on license under tot,the per unit cost will be around 250 million per unit and this is a total estimate
So making things under licence with tot is not always the smartest choice, however in case of c 17,we can make them under licence with tot because *the c 17 production line is about to get closed and we are about to receive one more plane only,while the requested no. Was more than 1* ,so we need more than one but the sellers has got only one plane to sell,now thats the problem
*But* ,we don't care because c 295's and possibly il 112 are also coming so thats not a problem,. I don't know how he is saying that 2 crashed

I'm talking about designing and making it here. c 295 & il 112 are tactical airlifters, can't compare with C17. We could've developed il 17 together with russia. Look at Saras. When do u think we are going to make an actual aircraft?
