I know, right? For some reason, it's become sacrilege today if you admit you don't like your pasta al dente. The look at you funny. I'm not a big fan of al dente either. But I usually have to cook it that way because most people demand it. Who started the "al dente ONLY" movement anyway??
Absolutely love this recipe for it nice and easy to follow, thank you so much for showing me and all of the other people how to cook up some sweet carrots.
Made this with meatloaf and potatoes Sunday and it was delicious. At first I was skeptical but, I wanted to try something different, glad I did. Thanks for sharing!!!
*Celeste* Try something "different" as if glazed carrots are unique? Glazed carrots are pretty much a *STAPLE* with meatloaf in my opinion. Cheers~~~:)
Just some tips 1: smack your carrots with a spoon or use a knife to make small cuts in them, this will allow the sugars on the inside to come out and caramelize, reducing the need for actual sugar. You really don't need much sugar for these. Remember you want candied carrots, the carrot is still the star you want the flavor of carrots, you don't want carrots suspended in a sugar syrup, bruising the carrots and letting the sugars caramelize instead, heightens the flavor. 2) you really don't need to boil baby carrots, they're pretty much the perfect texture as is. 3) if you chose to boil, drain the water and sautee them without butter until there's a little bit of browning, keep shaking the pan, you don't have to Brown them all over, just get some color. Only then do you add the butter. At this point, you can taste the carrots and see that they're already very sweet, now you can add sugar, preferably brown. You really do not need much sugar. Let the sugar melt and add salt to taste, idk about black pepper, you don't need black pepper for this. And voila that's it.
I watched several of these kinds of videos and wasnt interested until i just saw yours. im looking to make these for the holidays coming in a couple months. Never made glazed carrots before. can it be tweeked so i can add honey?
looks awsome. I will be doing this recipe tomorrow for Christmas dinner. im sure they will be a hit. ill let you know. I see you have the Nuwave cook top, do you also have the Nuwave oven ? I use the Nuwave Oven all the time. I hope you start posting again and even consider doing so Nuwave specific recipes. Liked , Subscribed and clicked that bell. have a very Merry Christmas
You can just use normal sugar but brown sugar just gives it that flavor that white sugar doesnt. Or you can homemake it: ua-cam.com/video/mYBW8pdNUSk/v-deo.html
Please try to give some time guidelines. "Between 3 and 5 minutes" etc. Otherwise when trying to follow your recipe the person would have to continually try the carrots. If they know 3 minutes is very firm and 4 is medium, that makes it a lot easier, and they don't have to go to a second source to try to figure out how long they should cook them.
Reading the comments answered the Age Old Question.....Are these really baby carrots? They are SHAVED DOWN CARROTS WITH IMPERFECTIONS! ***Thank you Obi Wan Kenobi* ** ;-}
why do men never wash their veggies not a good idea straight from the bag even if they say pre washed never trust what bag says always wash your veggies
Native Doll he didn’t wash it bc he decided to cook it. if he was to eat it raw then yes he should wash them. it’s like how you season steaks with your bare hands, normally you’d have to have gloves on while doing it but since it’s not a RTE food and you plan on cooking it (hopefully) you can handle most foods without gloves or in this case washing vegetables.
I like your channel but you can’t eyeball everything for most people. My eyeball my cooking I’ve been cooking since I was five years old and I’m 66 years old so it’s different. But today people are not cooks you’re working they need measurements no offense
That's pretty harsh. Lots of people who like to cook learn to do a pan flip. It's useful and fun. He's not doing it to make you feel inferior. Just because you can't do it doesn't mean he should stop.
not good, boiling carrots [and these are not carrots but stamped out carrot pieces from larger ones and taste like nothing] and discharging the water is a loss of nutrients, and why would you add sugar if you like the taste of real carrots...what a mess
Just made this with a Mediterranean chicken & Alfredo... MANY compliments to YOU "LEN", the chef 🥰😍😘...
THANK YOU!!!!!
Hi
The carrots came out great, even my kids loved them. Thanks.
This is my first thanksgiving at my house as an adult 😂 I’m making these! Thanks for the recipe and your direct simple and quick instructions. 👌 ❤
OMG!!! I also don't like my pasta al dente, but love my veggies with a bit of crisp LOL
Baby carrots are just normal carrots but cut and trimmed to look smaller.

Thanks for sharing. simple and fast.
I use syrup instead of brown sugar, it's Awesome !!!!!!
Any kind of syrup??
I use syrup too, any kind works.
Sounds like an old Chris Rock video !---
Karo syrup ( Mexican brand) Try and see. They have lights as well as darks. Lights are not too sweet.
@@paulinoeugenia2660 thx😁

I would cut the sugar in half and add about 1 and half or 2 tablespoons honey.
Sarah Elizabeth jk
Maple syrup would be more flavorful than honey.. But honey would work if you cut the amount of sugar by about a third.
Simple and easy my way of cooking thanks
Thnxx bro. It was amazing

Dash of honey would make it better.
Thank you Len!
Making these rn
Do you need butter for glazed carrots or can you substitute it with olive oil?
Can you use margarine instead of butter?
Making this today with my hamburger steaks n mashed potatoes. Thx! Now I know lol 😺
Does the brown sugar make it taste sweet?
No not at all it totally not called sugar for a reason

😂
no salty..of course ....fuk duhhhhh

Ronan DUH...what do you think?
Thanks!❤👍🏾😋
I love this dish but when I use fresh carrots the smell is so strong. When I use caned carrots it doesn't smell as strong, is there a way to fix that?
If you use canned carrots all you are going to end up with is mush. The canned carrots are already cooked.
Hold your nose ? sorry, I'll let myself out.

Hi if you liked these soft how long would you cook them?
Can u use raw sugar alternative
What does El dente mean
I'm a try to make this to eat with buffalo wings.

True but it makes it less healthier

If you use a steamer for the carrots, you don't have to spend all that time drying them out.

Reading the comments answered the Age Old Question.....Are these really baby carrots?
They are SHAVED DOWN CARROTS WITH IMPERFECTIONS!

Lets wash our veggies first Len. Great recipe though!
Baby carrots are prewashed...
@@pendlera2959 lol pre-washed is funny
Wtf is a culander ? And Iknow, I spelled it wrong
so much sugar and butter.....they look good but
too greasy...
You can let them simmer down in the pan for a couple minutes. This way they're less greasy and you can get nice toasted spots.
Not very specific on cooking time with the water etc
why do men never wash their veggies not a good idea straight from the bag even if they say pre washed never trust what bag says always wash your veggies
Native Doll because that’s how they were eaten before we had sinks and stuff!
before we had sinks, we also diddnt have very harsh pesticides either
But he rinse the water..

Jay Baldwin Chemicals people. There shouldn’t be any bugs or bacteria because of the pesticides.

All that noise is why I do not like those cookers.
those aren't real baby carrots. Those are the reject carrots that they whittle down and put in a bag.
That's all baby carrots are..they don't grow like that.
...wow. the day, when a hairy arm obstructs the view, stabs a fork into a Teflon pan gets sooo many views - thats the day that I say ...wow.

20 seconds in and I already know this guy doesn't know much about cooking.
stop flipping the carrots it's like you are showing off as %90 of us can't do it so don't do it

Lol enough brown sugar to turn a healthy food into a culinary health disaster. Yikes.
Ugh, that scraping noise when you try to flip or stir the carrots by moving the pan...pick it up off the hot plate.
