    I remember an Oasis gig in the 90's. Earls Court I think, and they were playing a slow song and everyone in the audience put their lighters on. And Noel shouted, 'it's not a fucking Elton John concert'
    Apparently Elton was in the audience!!

    • @theselector4733
      @theselector4733 6 років тому

      That Guy Brilliant comment. Hit the nail right on the head. We all know NG has a knack for "borrowing" BUT this album takes the cake......it's BY FAR his most derivative yet. Just about every track sounds like bits and bobs from other songs or artists AND it's so frickin obvious.
      From a personal point of view he's definitely changed, rubbing shoulders with the 'glitterati' & establishment. What's next? Kids book reviews with Micheal Buble? For fucks sake Noel. The greatest songwriter in the last 25yrs is turning into Tom Jones.
      He's also turned quite nasty towards Liam lately, in no small way due to the massive success of AYW. Which i think shows how petty & bitter he's become. WBTM is destined to become NG's BHN. Might go down to my local pawn shop & pick it up for a couple of quid nxt mth.

      Vincecouk Not me. I judge the song......don't care what style or genre. As long as its a good song it could be outter space mongolian jazz for all i care.
      Everyone's going on about how 'different' this album is, maybe for Noel, but in all honesty it's ALL been done before. If anything, his album is a throwback to the 70's & 80's.......Blondie, Stevie Wonder, Bowie, Bryan Ferry, Joy Division, U2, Plastic Bertrand etc..... the 'lifts' are just TOO OBVIOUS.

    • @vincevirtua
      @vincevirtua 6 років тому +5

      theselector Fine ok, not you then but my point stands that he can't please everyone all the time. The fact is people were moaning about Chasing Yesterday when that came out, and that is supposedly more traditional songwriting. Also, if the album is a throwback to all the stuff you mentioned, then great! those are all amazing influences. It might be why I like the album so much, Holy Mountain excepting.

    Ignore the crazy costumes.
    He was incredible.
    He is the only one who coukd rock a big audience with just his voice and piano. He didnt need a band.
    But his concert in central park in 1980 was perhaps the best live performance ever, on par with Queen and Michael jackson and Prince
    He sang for 3 hours and his voice never falted. His falsetto was incredible and his puano playing was comex for pop music
