How often have you changed any springs and/or the locking block? I hear that the newer versions are more durable. But maybe it is also an overestimated Achilles heel of the 92. Especially if you change springs after certain round counts.
@SolidBren I just replaced my trigger return spring and recoil guide spring. The manual says 5,000 rounds recommended for the two. I went a little over on both of which.
Hey, maybe you can help me figure out which Beretta's have a threaded barrel. I'm looking to get into one, but struggling to shop around that feature specifically. Thanks!
USA made Beretta's have been having some issues. I had to call CS twice with my A300, and I saw reports of people having issues with 1301's, M9A4's and some others.
Ditto on the Ruger GP100. I have the 7-shot 3” barrel and it is my favorite revolver. A bit heavy, but I usually carry it in a shoulder rig. Great woods gun.
Maybe you can help me figure out what's wrong with mine, then? It fires when the trigger is released, but to get the hammer cocked back/the cylinder to revolve, I have to really crank on it with both thumbs. It was fantastic until it started doing this, though I've got less than 500 rounds on mine. I don't have the money to take it to the gunsmith right now and was hoping it was something I could do at home.
Hey Chris, instead of rehashing old stuff into new lists, can you do a follow-up 1000-round review of the CZ P-09C Nocturne? In particular, it sounded as if the reliability problems you had are from the commonly encountered issue of screws for mounting red dot sights being too long and that probably was causing your feeding/extracting problems. Could you make sure that issue is taken care of please? Also, can you comment on how the trigger is compared to triggers on other CZ pistols? Finally, can you comment how the P-09C Nocturne compares to other pistols in the $400 price range, particularly how it compares to the Beretta APX A1 and the Ruger RXM? Thanks.
I've owned a P07 for several years and bought the P09C Nocturne shortly after it came out. I added a 407K (with the correct screws) after shooting a few mags through it. I've put 500-600 rounds through it so far and it's ran perfectly. My only issue I've had was that the trigger bar was causing the trigger to feel a little gritty. I polished the outside of the bar and it made a huge improvement in the feel of the trigger. It feels "almost" as good as the P07, but that one has more rounds through it and has smoothed out from more use. Both awesome guns!
My 4" GP100 7 shot is hands down my favorite handgun I have ever owned. Stone cold accurate and reliable. Can shoot ANY .357 load all day long and never skip a beat Plus, my daughter and grandkids can shoot Papa's "Hand Cannon" when loaded with 38 specials. Glad it's the revolver on the list!
I used to have that exact 4" GP100 with the wood inlaid handle instead of the hogue grip. Absolutely LOVED that gun, and it was definitely the most accurate handgun I've ever had. My brother has it now and I'm trying to convince him to sell it back to me 😂.
I had really good luckwith my Century AKM, a 2011 WASR GP 10/63 (Cugir military grade receiver). It has been absolutely reliable only one issue in probably 4-5k rounds. I fired a squib round of Tul Ammo 7.62x39 and the following round didn't go completely into battery. One hit on the charging hand and back to shooting. It's been exceptional. Similar to my S&W Wesson M&P-15 Sport. 2nd Gen, no dust cover or fwd assist (doesn't need it) only one stoppage since 2015. I didn't download a mage and it didn't seat properly, user error not the gun's fault. Both are outstanding guns.
I would have thought that you would have chosen the Smith and wesson 686+. Great trigger and accuracy. Also, lifestyle warranty. In pistol dept , the CZ Shadow 2.

I have both the Baretta 92 and the Taurus PT99 Which is the same thing really. and both are 100% reliable, i have shot maybe 10,000 rounds of a Taurus PT99 that i got back in 1994 and i never had a jam with it or any problems.. The Baretta 92 or Taurus PT 99 are both my go to guns to carry, also i love the M&P 9 Pro Series gun i have that too with an optical sight on it, this gun is amazing and a hair trigger.
I concur. The Beretta 92FS and the Taurus PT99 are a winning combination. I love both platforms until Taurus started putting internal locks on their handguns.

Never been cleaned, never had a failure, and never broke . Just amazing units. We were also about to start abusing CZ 75 to see how it compares

Any thoughts on the Beretta M9A1 vs 92FS? That question has kept me on the fence for a long time. I've never shot one of the Beretta 92 series, only ever see polymer or 1911's anymore.
I’ve never seen the PDP on any of these “most reliable” lists, at first I thought it might just be because it hasn’t been out long enough to have the track record of some of these guns, but then I saw you put the Echelon on the “7 pistols you can bet your life on” list. Have you had issues with the PDP that make you hesitant to put it on these?
I’ve put about 3,000 rounds through my pdp. While that’s not a lot, I’ve had not a single malfunction, with brass, steel, fmj or hollows. I carry it everyday.
I think it just gets missed alot because it's wide and recoils more than comparable handguns. I have a Q4 Tactical, Q5 Match, and Q5 Match SF and have never had a malfunction out of any of the 3. Not one that I can recall
I would definitely add Sig Classic P-Series pistols to this list. Absolutely rock solid reliable, and have proven themselves extensively in the real world, for decades.
@@Tom-qp6oh Aside from my German P220, I have 5 other Sig classics that were made in the U.S. and I've owned them for years, thousands of rounds through them. The whole, "the good Sigs are the German ones" is a bunch of BS snobbery.
@@bsmithhammer Maybe I'm just salty from my own bad experience. I was working Security in 2006 and had been carrying a revolver, but had finally saved enough money for a Sig P226. I paid for "To Hell And Back Reliability". But my extractor broke in half after about 800 rounds! I went online and found other complaints about the quality going down with the Exter NH Sigs, and many claimed that they cut quality to save money around this time. To be fair, Sig's customer service was top notch, and they sent me a shipping label and fixed my gun in about 2 weeks for free! I sold it after it was fixed and purchased a Glock 19 for half of what I paid for the Sig.
Love the GP 100. My father in law recently passed away. He was an avid collector. I was asked to make a couple of choices from that collection. As favorites. I chose the Remington 760 pump action 30.06, and the GP 100. My son stole that thing right out from under me as his choice!! That dirty dog!
I’d really appreciate a DSA pistols video. I know how heavily the CZ P07 is commended on this channel, but I’m just looking for other options, more specifically something that is optics ready
The CZ P09 Nocturne is optic ready. Hopefully, Honest Outlaw will do a second vid about the Nocturne. The Nocturne was disappointing in his First Impressions vid.
@ yea I was really happy when I saw the nocturne, but then very sad when Honest Outlaw said he was disappointed in it, but hopefully CZ will come around and fix the problems associated with it
I’ve owned a few m9s and was issued many in the army. Never had one bad thing to say about them. They always went bang and send the round where I wanted
I'm surprised the CZ P10 c, CZ P07, M&P 2.0 and/or Mossberg 590 didn't make the list. Nonetheless, this list is solid. I hope you give the CZ P09 Nocturne a second review. Hopefully, it will redeem itself after a disappointing first look. I appreciate all your videos. Keep up the good work
I like your honesty. With so many others every gun they pick up is better than the last. When the th series of tarsus pistols came out l noticed on several reviews that they were prone to light primer stricks( most blamed the ammo). Have you ever shot one of these da/sa pistols enough to have an opinion on their reliability?
Good to see the Beretta, because of your posts/reels/videos, I got the A4. I was born in '78 grew up with Beretta, Die Hard etc but just curious, Benelli is great, but , the Orthos Raider S4 has way more bang for the buck & is homogenized in US, DEFINITELY a better alternative to the Bernelli
Got a unique gun I would like to see you review. The Heizer Defence PKO 45 pistol. Made in St. Louis Missouri. Love your videos. Good luck in the future.
I watched Rush Hour yesterday and there were Beretta M9's all over the place! Of course, it also had the cool scenes where Jackie Chan disassembles the M9 one-handed with that sweet take-down lever.
I agree. I have the full size with a od green frame. It's been my EDC for 12 years with no problems. All I've done is put a stainless steel guide rod in it. Didn't need to but saw it and couldn't resist.
I own many, many guns, and the gun at my bedside is the gun I carried in the military. The Beretta M9. I trusted it with my life then, and i'm trusting it with my life now.
love Glock and you cant go wrong with it. i don't have a Glock 19x i have the 45. the reliability is just amazing. i don't change anything other then the sights. i am one of few who really like the stock trigger.
if you had the 19X you wouldn’t have to change the sights it already comes with night sights. it’s an awesome gun and the coyote color looks great on it.
I carried the M9 in Afghanistan in 2004 had issues with mags not feeding rounds due to megar mags sucked and the springs wear pretty shitty. Lost tension in the springs
Can’t wait for you too get your hands on the canik mete mc9 prime. I was just about to get an ls but luckily I saw the prime on ig’s story so I’m holding off until they release it im so excited to get one.
Outlaw, I wanna know what your opinion is on the best 10 hammer fire pistols . No revolvers allowed. 9mm,380, 40 cal, and 45 acp . Let's see what you pick. Also, you can pick some runner-up categories.
just picked up a 19X last week and im very pleasantly surprised at how much i enjoy it. I held out on getting a glock for so long cuz im a contrarian at heart but i figured if I was going to get one itd be the 19X.
Love the 92/M9 and would agree is a highly reliable handgun. It may be sacrilege but I would also throw my Taurus PT92. It was my first handgun after being unable to afford the Beretta and if I'm honest, I actually enjoy shooting it better than my M9.

@@Tom-qp6ohhave over 10,000 rounds on my USA made legion. Never once hiccuped
Keep up the good work
You nailed it I have the GP100 4 inch blued in 357 Magnum. That's all you need it does everything😊
I have two Beretta 92FS’s. One regular model made in Italy and one USA made Brigadier. Both have never failed or malfunctioned even once.
I love rocking the Beretta 90 series, especially one from Langdon Tactical. My go to dream pistol!
Beretta and Ruger are my favorites! Glad they both made your list 👍
Any recommendation for overpressure rounds and pistols?
As usual, much love for the Beretta 😄
Thank you for putting Beretta at #1 lol. My M9A4 is so damn reliable. No problems in over ~3,400 rounds
Wilson Combat Centurion with action tune one of my absolute favorites
When are you going to do an update on the P-09c. Your optic screw was too long.
I would add Beretta PX4 Storm Compact 9mm. Proven design, duty rated, excellent track record. I own 2 and have never had a single problem.
I agree. I have the full size with a od green frame. It's been my EDC for 12 years with no problems. All I've done is put a stainless steel guide rod in it. Didn't need to but saw it and couldn't resist.
i have the LTT PX4 compact carry and i’d put it up against any gun on this list. i also have the 19X that i put almost right there with the PX4.
@Honest Outlaw Out of context … but could you please review the HK G28Z ? Thanks.
Cant wait for more guns and etc to start releasing. Same type of videos coming out here recently. Love the videos!
Sig P320 is definitely dependable. Why is it not on your list?
A great list, but I was a little surprised that there were no S&W M&Ps, or CZs.
1- Glock 41 mos
2- AR15
3- IWI TS12
4- 1911
5- AR10
Thoughts on the sandhawk single stack that was just announced? A sandhawk in 10mm sounds amazing to me!
Will you do top 5 hearing protection? I know you talk about you having an ear issue lately and just wanted to know what works best for you.
Off topic question for my wife...she wants an EDC with a threaded barrel. What's your best suggestion?
Glad to see the Beretta, however, missed the Orthos Arms S4 Raider, great piece of kit
Loving that my GP 100 is sitting right next to me as I watch this 🙂👍
Beretta M9/92 is the most beautiful handgun ever in my opinion. ❤
Can we get a list for top 5 or 10 sao handguns? (Excluding 1911's and 2011's)
Can you check out the Mossberg R or the RM
Please do a review of the Kel Tec PR57
These top 5 top 10 videos have been beaten to death. I want to see more reviews.
Can’t wait for you too get your hands on the canik mete mc9 prime. I was just about to get an ls but luckily I saw the prime on ig’s story so I’m holding off until they release it im so excited to get one.
Outlaw,
I wanna know what your opinion is on the best 10 hammer fire pistols . No revolvers allowed. 9mm,380, 40 cal, and 45 acp . Let's see what you pick. Also, you can pick some runner-up categories.
Going to need to see that canik mete mc9 prime ASAP!!
Bro, love your videos! Question... have you heard any news of the shield plus coming out with a new generation which includes a rail?
just picked up a 19X last week and im very pleasantly surprised at how much i enjoy it. I held out on getting a glock for so long cuz im a contrarian at heart but i figured if I was going to get one itd be the 19X.
i think it’s the best Glock made and one of the best shooting guns you can buy. well worth the price
Love the 92/M9 and would agree is a highly reliable handgun. It may be sacrilege but I would also throw my Taurus PT92. It was my first handgun after being unable to afford the Beretta and if I'm honest, I actually enjoy shooting it better than my M9.
Isn't it the same gun, just made in Brazil?
I love my Beretta 92 for home defense. Definitely too big to carry though! Would love it if someone made a micro da / sa for carry.
I can't wait for the Canik METE MC9 Prime review!
Is there anyway you do a 2011 review on the fusion firearms xp pro??👀👀 your input usually sways my final decision on whether or not I purchase a weapon😂
Of course the Italians would make such a beautiful piece of art
I had the same GP100 and loved it. Sold it as a newly wed to make ends meet. Wanted to buy one again wver since.
