HUh, so a chocolate rice cake in South Korea, is quite literally a chocolate rice cake. Where in the US its a science project of flour, half the things off the shelf in a high school chemistry class, an excessive amount of sugar and way to much frosting to make it taste good.

In Indonesia, maybe it's more like "kue putu bambu". Putu bambu is made from milled rice, then it steamed on the mould from bamboo. The texture is soft, more similar to crumbly cake, and it served with steamed grated coconut and brown sugar syrup 😁
In South India we call it puttu. Steamed and served with white or brown sugar with coconut. My favourite
