Craig got the opportunity to test drive the new Harley davidson sportster nightster, before the bike even got released and he did this in beautiful California. this bike is like nothing else that Harley has ever made and might change your mind about the sportster.

Did not expect Craig to be doing one of these. Really cool to see you stepping out and trying different things. Felt very real and look forward to seeing more rides from you.
Love seeing Craig running the show here. Great video!
Can tell Craig is a little nervous running the show....but you did a great job man. Keep it up guys
Didn’t notice any nervousness…….. the “review” seemed as honest as a hard days work to me. Craig out hear KILLING IT 👍🏻👍🏻
@@ron_grimes young “to be able to” have those thoughts. The rest of us wish we still did.
@@greatkingrat I'm old enough to be the parent's parent, but still ride an XR1200 with the titties ground off the edges of my new shinko 777 tires
HD is never ever going to pose a challenge to Honda!!
How the FUG does he seem nervous 🤣
Cool to see you expanding the channel. Looking forward to more like this.
Great review, Craig! Really hope u guys do more of these if/when u get a chance. Very insightful and carries more weight coming from a moto mechanic. Thanks so much! 👍🏽
Harley can't take on the big 4 simply because of their price points
It goes further than that , how about the money after the purchase just to get one to compete with other bikes that are turn key ready .. Price point yes Harley I feel has always been over priced , and as stated earlier the money you invest after the purchase is just crazy .. But yeah I agree ..
@@chrismcphatter7218 the 883 sportster is a great example, as illustrated by the YN team when they had one, the whole bike is kind of crap from factory. They replaced so much on that bike to make it acceptable to ride, that it was hardly factory anymore. Not to mention they're like 9k new.
I agree, and they are trying to sell to the "student loan" debt crowd. The generation they are aiming for is saddled with it and it effects their buying power. They have to keep that in mind.
This nighster is only 13k new. Usually Harley’s are ridiculously overpriced, but they are changing that.
@@robertmillion6921 In order to do that, they'll have to reign in their dealers. That ain't gonna be easy I'm betting.
I'd actually really like to see Craig do stuff like this more often
I got to see it at My local dealership in Grand Prairie Texas yesterday… I’ve owned just about everything over the years and when I threw a leg over the new Nightster I was in LOVE 🥰… it feels like a feather…. With great ergonomics…. I can’t wait to ride it….
then go try a Honda Rebel 1100 that is 4000$ cheaper and do a comparison....
I was afraid based on how you were gushing over the bike at the start, that you were going to go full "HD brought me out here for this press demo, put us up, wined and dined us, and we are going to pretend it's everything, including a bag of chips." But, Craig did point out several short comings of varying degrees while riding it, so I was relieved by the end and he did a pretty good job!
Yeah, HD’s reported lean-angle is BS. They put little 3 inch pegs on the bike, so you’ll scrape your boots like Craig did if you get aggressive in the turns.
so you wanted to hear that is was bad, and anything other than that is bs?
So glad to seebthis channel thriving, thank you for the knowledge Craig!!
Great job Craig, new format is working well guys. Camera and mic work is improving too. Thanks guys
I love Craig running this show and doing reviews. This is awesome!
It looks so much like the rebel 1100. Even the numbers are so close it's crazy 😁
Other than the numbers in the pricetag
@@UncleSpuddy Yeah, it's Harley tax, right? 😆
@@Foodgeek That's a heluvalot of the tax.
its sad how harley manages to keep making better looking but worse more expensive motorcycles
@@geeeee8268 Going to go pick up my 1100 right now :D
Thanks, Craig, nice in-depth review, and a nice bike.
Good job Craig. My only complaint is we still gotta hear “I’m 6’2” 😂
Loved the review Craig, keep these coming!
Because of its location, should the gas tank be called an “ass tank?”
Great review Craig, Your prospective from all your hands on mechanical experience makes all the difference. I would enjoy more reviews from you.
Competing with Honda really depends on price and reliabillity ....... and a whole new fan crowd most of all.
Man; Craig is locked in, in his element here...amazing. So enjoyable to watch and listen.
Great job on the review! I like the technical specs and evaluation.
Nice review man! Straight to the point, and honest. No frills. Perfect.
Great video! Most of these review/first impressions videos are either too technical or just boring. The flubs and Craigs sense of humor are what these types of videos need. Great job Craig and great job with the film crew too.
Really awesome review Craig! Love it
Good review. Did any of the bikes have the optional forward controls on them ?
That was great Craig, excellent work. I’m not a Harley guy but this one looks amazing, much closer to what I like. I might have to try it if it makes it down here. Cheers from Chile!
Nice work Craig..... Truly informative!!
Great job, Craig! Nice to see a review by someone we know! 👍😎
Best review this channel ever had. Great stuff!
So cool to see you guys doing this
Holy professionalism!! SRKcycles has moved up in the world! The production quality is rad and Craig is a legit moto journalist!
Great review Craig. Good honest review
I’m happy that Harley is updating their line to keep up with todays market, but this just isn’t for me. I love my 48 even though the nightster would throttle it lol.
Yeah, hearing the bike just makes me sad. Not a huge fan of this bike's style. I'd much rather have a 04-06 Sporty 1200 with carb and long exhaust. Full of chrome. I now understand the boomers love for muscle cars. I am now old lol. But also, I'd love the Tenere 700.
48 over these newby bikes anyday
Honda made the Rebel 1100 and Harley woke up from a coma and said "Hey, what'd I miss?"
Aftermarket and dealer market make plenty to wake thst 48 up. Just because it can throttle it today doesn't necessarily mean it will tomorrow. I don't think out the door power is everything when buying a bike nowadays.
@@samuelmoore8154 theres a ton of room to improve a 48.
Craig is by far my favorite guy in this circle. Don't be afraid to be goofy and yourself more if you want! Great job, also since you're an actual bike mechanic, let us know some more technical details, I have no interest in Harley's but I'd watch Craig in just about anything!
Beautifully done!
Craig, you did an amazing job! So glad that SRK is mixing it up. Very cool.
the new honda rebel looks awesome xD
I thought they'd rejigged the Street 500 at first
Very nicely done video Craig.
Nice surprise with Craig, great review!
Great job guys! Craig you rule!
Cheers from Portugal!
Craig!! Great review......let's see more of these..
Awesome. Thanks Craig
Killed it Craig 🔥❤️
How did I miss this episode?! Great job Craig 👏
Great job Craig. Looking forward to next review!
Great job Craig!
Awesome vid craig, nice work!
Real motorcycle reviews! awesome job
I hope SRK cycles comes back and opens soon. And good job Craig I enjoyed the video and the quality was perfect
Great video Craig 👌
Great job Craig, I couldn't help but think about Chris Farley and a little jacket lol.. good review none the less. Thanks again.
Craig it's like a TV show brother you did an amazing job can't wait to see more of Craig.
Great video, good job!
great video Craig, you are a natural. Good work
We need more contents like this. Kudos!
Hope you guys do a review of the 2023 Breakout
Great job Craig!!
That's pretty awesome!!! Good job Craig 👏🏼 👍🏻 👌🏼 loved it
Great lowdown Craig! There might be some hope for Harley Davidson, nice ride.
I just rode one at the Harley demo truck along with the new Indians at thunder beach spring rally 2022 at Panama City fl and oh the power on this baby it was a blast to ride.
It's going to depend on price a lot. Lots of choices in this category right now since it's not a traditional bike anymore.
It not a “traditional” Harley anymore, plenty of other brands have had lightweight, liquid cooled, sporty cruisers like this for a decade or more
@Serenity on 2s $13,500 us
Edit: and that’s before dealer fees and mark ups
@Serenity on 2s Which makes sense as that puts it right in line with the Scout.
@@someguyontheinternet7165 scout 1200’s not their 900 cc scout 60 competition for this. This bike series is a mess
Here in Canada it is selling @ 17,000 ... while the Honda Rebel 1100 has more power, better bloodline, better manufacturer, and is 4000$ cheaper... my choice would be sinple....
The Rebel 1100 and the Nighster look a lot alike, and it will be direct competition...
Good luck with that one Harley... hope your promos like this fool people into buying them....
Very informative Craig !
Great video Craig!
Thanks for the update...
Cool bike 👍
Kalifornia 😁 That's a major change of location!
Craig you the man buddy damn good video 🤘🏻💯🤘🏻
Great review! If the tank is an air box what's the air filter on the side for I wonder?
Nice Craig! You are a man of patience and kindness working with your add boss...😁😆🙃👍
Keep em coming bro God bless the SRK fam
Alright Craig! I see you there! Keep up the good work!
I will say Craig did a great job with this video and comment that this HD would be a HD that I would consider getting over a Japanese touring looking bike (sorry I am new to motorcycles).
Good job, Craig!
Awesome review! Considering this bike, amongst others, as an upgrade from my Trident 660.
You've got a great style. Much more laid back than Sean, and I appreciate the mechanic's perspective
nice to see Craig doing this review
Good video constant info
Great video! I sat on this bike about a week ago and had an opportunity to test ride it but did not have time. However, I sat on the bike and it felt like the handle bars were too far forward or something. I think that I would prefer an upright riding position. Anyway, did it feel like that to you as well. You are much taller than me and I would suspect that if it felt like there was a reach, which I guess is an aggressive riding position it seems like for shorter riders it might be an issue. Second, what if you wanted to do a longer ride in a day like at least 100 plus miles one way could you do it comfortably? Also, did the bike have good highway speed in your opinion? Thanks
Dude you did good. Shaun should let you do more. That was a great review.
woww! This was filmed a couple blocks from home! Craig rode down Cabrillo Boulevard by the beach, my morning ride to work🥳
Killer job Craig! I would love to see you do a similar review for the Honda Rebel 1100!
Nice!! Its about time Harley started including you in these demo rides!
Oh yeah!
Great job on the Video Craig. You explained everything very well.
And you looked cool on that bike. 😎. Lol
Craig, I think you did a great job. I would love to get my hands on a bike like that for me. Riding for me is about feeling freedom which is best done with what I consider a nekid-bike. That thing is beautiful.
Fantastic review
Awesome stuff!!
Good Review. Well done.
Great job Craig.
Wonderful wonderful that is A splendid Bike
Love from DeKalb Mississippi USA 🇺🇸
Great job Craig :)
It looks more traditional Sportster; I just wish they could've at least tried to hide the radiator, like Triumph did on the Thruxton/Bonneville.
Take the shroud off the radiator it will probably look better.. it would be an interesting mod for the aftermarket industry to make one that blends in better
Looks to me like they are trying to knock off the Honda Rebel 1100.... but @ 4000$ more and signifigantly under powered, I doubt it's going to go anywhere....
@@TroyC68 that was my thought the moment I saw it
Heck let that radiator sit front and center, it’s an integral component of the motorcycle and adds beauty to a work of art (all motorcycles are)
Has a Honda rebel vibe
I bought this bike on Memorial Day and I love it . I recently took it to THE TAIL OF THE DRAGON and its performance reminds me of my Ducati Monster 696. It does have a no start problem. Harley Davidson’s answer for now to unplug and plug in the wiring harness for the two handlebar modules. The wiring harness is on each side of the air box behind a plastic cover. I have Harley Davidson giving me new modules to permanently correct this problem I hope.
Love Craigs personality!
It's hard to pick my favourite Harley. I like all of them. Great video
So weird to see Craig in California. I love this style of review.
I have a 2023 Nightster, (just the normal version, not the Special) and I am blown away with this bike. I've never had a bike that was just so nimble while being smooth. I traded my 750 street rod in for it, and while the SR had better lean angles, the Nightster is easier to ride fast, and it's more comfortable for my 5'-11" tall self.
Great job Craig.
It's a shame it didn't come with the sportster s version of the engine. When I saw the local dealer post these I quickly researched it and found out it was under 100hp I was disappointed a little..
True, but the wet weight is also only 487 lbs. With 200 pounds of rider, the power to weight is still better than a Porsche Boxster S with a 200 lb driver.
I wish they had gone ahead with the Bronx. It was only the 3rd HD I ever wanted, besides a WLA42 and my V-Rod.
Great report! Couple of comments: 1) Since 1974 or so when H-D put that stylish "Cobra" style seat on them, Sportsters have ALWAYS had a too-short distance between the seat and the mid-pegs. It puts the knees up into what becomes an uncomfortable angle after a while (especially for an old guy like me). That's why "legacy" Sportsters demand either highway pegs or forward controls. 2) Some aftermarket company is going to make a fortune selling exhaust systems for the Nightster. It sounds terrible in every video I've seen about it. And I've seen just about all of them that have been produced so far ;)
It does sound very scooter like, it reminds me of something from The Jetsons
Check out videos of aftermarket exhausts for the Sportster s, it will give you an idea what this bike will sound like. The Sportster s sounds amazing with a slip-on, btw.
Great review. I think the Nightster looks a lot better than the Sportster S. I wish they would have stuck the 1250 engine in it though. It's good to see Harley finally innovating, and going outside the box.
More Craig videos!!! he killed it
Great bike, but as usual for Harley it's just too expensive. It simply is not competing at its price point.
Yeah, it makes the Rebel and the Scout way more desirable because they all have similar power, but cost wayyyy less.
