How do I get him to do some work for me? I have a rtx 3090 going out, I need help!
@@nicholasvetitoe2538 send it to hil. He did the same graphics card on another video. Send it to him and he’ll try to repair it.
@@nicholasvetitoe2538 how could ur 3090 fuck up so quick?
@@pumpkin4391 3090s tend to do that
Very kind words
So may devices needing repair. Imagine how many others are just thrown away. If only there were more skilled repairers like you.
Would be nice to have schematics and SMD specs too, to make the repair of those that are in more reliable, wouldn't it?
Alas!
doesnt help much with the short lasting hardware and technical advantages over time making repairs very often more expensive than a new device.
Also, repair shops should really think about their prices... thats by far one of the biggest problems, repairing anything doesnt make sense since repair shops are also getting greedy.
I buy from time to time "defect" subwoofers, mostly for 10-100$ or if its a cheaper model even for free, only the way to pick them up. In nearly every case the sub was repaired in 30 minutes up to an hour with components for about 10-90 cent. And these repaired subs were sold for 200-1000$, depending on the model....
Just said, I began selling them really cheap and also in the description: "repaired/refurbished", but somehow they were going away faster than i could repair them, most didnt even ask for a better price since they were anyways hilarious cheap compared to other used ones, so i decided to make more profit out of it (i also wanted to enjoy a few for a while myself...) and still, people bought them, also if i had to wait a few weeks or even months.
Its ridicilous how much money repair shops can make. Only think about a battery replacement at an iPhone.... the battery cost about 10$, probably for the shop even much cheaper, and they want something about 100$ for the battery replacement.
I mean yes, i dont pay taxes, i dont have to rent any shop or so, and the few things needed like soldering station, multimeter, a few components, mainly caps and co were already there. But in the end.... repair shops could easily be much cheaper and so more stuff, otherwise e-waste, could be still reused.
I wish I was able to buy some broken electronics to try and fix them. I have no idea where to get my hands on any unfortunately.

I really love the content. I'm so happy I found this channel!!!
One of few channels I really like 😁
Iam also love from india
Took the words right out my mouth!!!
If there is one thing I’ve learned from watching Alex, it is send it to him in the first place. Not the last place.
50 minutes in LA could be less than 8 miles. 😂
@asdrubale bisanzio scooters/ebiles/moto is a winner in LA.
@Northridge Fix I have silly question: from copper plates on circuit is there a way to remove all solder without any signs? A chemical way? Or is it permanent placement solder to the copper plate?
I think, it would be cool, that your comunity could provide designs for the t-shirt (like bether than factory) and you decide the best design or something. Maybe even one t-shirt comunity made and one made by you 😁.
Probably the second workshop might be the customer itself who Ended up breaking the fan Connector 🌝
The first one was Hiroshima Soldering Service?😁
You also need to make a tee shirt with “...and the job is done!”.
perfect
Why not sending it back to Sony it has 2 year warranty and this isn't out for 2 years
Amazing work man thank you
Plus 1
Dr. Alex performing a procedure this a.m. on a MoBo... ;) Better than Factory, patent pending..
The shit people do to their hardware. Never ceases to amaze me how much abuse tech does get
I feel sorry for this ps5. Hasn't even been a year...
I've been in the electronics repair game for decades and I still learn things from watching other people doing their repairs. Everyone has their own way of doing things too so what works for one person may not for another. This is an excellent channel, keep up the good work. 😎
NICE NICE NICE...
I've learnt so much from you. So now I can do awesome job too. Hope you always good. Thank you my "Suhu" hehe. that means "teacher or trainer".
Can I send my ps5 to you 😭😭😭 i get no signal and i was told by ubreakifix that it is most likely a motherboard problem.
I would love to see more GPUs. Please make a vid of the 3090 kingpin repair.
Hi Alex, maybe you would consider reinforce the same case connector job with UV cured epoxy in the future? I mean relying on solder itself does not look that strong. Just a suggestion.
amazing job, however I was waiting for you to put solder mask on top of the fan connector wires and broken trace you did. It is true that nobody will even need to touch the connector, but its better to be solid.
It's crazy how many new products need repairing
no thats intentionally so we always have to buy new stuff from this greedy companies
hey man
have you ever thought about using trace/pad repair kits?
I really want to get some of those
Everyday I'm learning new things in this channel. It also helps me helping my friends fixing their devices for a low fee or just a snacks. I really want to purchase some amtech from you but I can't afford it right now. But still thank you for this kind of videos sir!
Really admire your passion to fix things. It reminds me of myself.
WoW thats eVGA's 3090 kingpin, its like the Rolls-Royce of the video cards... please let it be your next video
I would realy like to see you working on the Kingpin 3090. (this cards are rare as hell) And i would realy like to buy one of youre "better than factory" shirts :-D. Greetings from Germany
If you are a PS5 owner or Xbox owner think twice before you go to repair shop. Make sure you do your research on where you take your system. I would personally take it with Northridgefix because with his experience and expertise with mircosolder best. Each repair is different so make sure you do your research on your local repair shops 👌
so satisfying to watch a successful repair.
Better than factory 🔥🔥👍
Great work 👍😎
ohh that kingpin card at the end thats a special one ;)
Hi, nice video. What is best cleaning solution for you?
Showed how this guy works to my local repair guy. He has shut his shop and looking for other jobs.
So many bad repair shops giving the industry such a bad reputation. I wish there were some standards that these so called technicians need to meet. Your skills are off the chart.
I really love to hear "Better than the factory condition" and "The job is done".
Another reason why I never stand my console i learned that the hard way for my PS2 back in the day lol
you could keep that fan connector solid with hot glue
Better than factory as always!!
This is awesome. After two repairs and each different shops and none of them couldn’t fix it. I couldn’t believe how bad of a job those previous shops did to that mother board. That’s the reason your Job quality is unique. Great Job!!!
"Better than factory".. Oyeah seen it again
What did you study to do it today? I love you channel, watching from Brazil
Bro your work is impressive. I wish I would’ve learned how to do these things instead of being lazy… This looks so complicated, but you make it seem so damn easy!

A lot of dust on soldering iron tip today, did you change the soldering wire?
Seems like the most called in for repair item is video cards
I don’t understand how people break their HDMI ports so easily. Most console repairs I see on UA-cam are HDMI ports. Idiots… Lol. Anyways, love watching you fix them up, basically therapy seeing things go back into good working condition.
Absolutely amazing fix. I joined your channel maybe a month ago and watched all your videos. Just getting into electronics and you have taught me quite a lot. Keep up the fantastic work.
I watch every day! Love it!!! Greetings from Germany! Apply some Flux and the job is done. Better then factory :-)
What a solid work man! I'm so inspired clean and precise!
genius as usual.
" Better Than Factory "
What soldering station do you use? Any recommendation for beginners? Thanks a lot
How long did it take you to get so good at soldering ?
Simply fantastic and no more to say.
Pls Do a Video on the Kingpin 3090.

I love the work this guys does. He seems very capable and is extremely honest and upfront. Being a small mom and pop business, I hope he makes it through these tough times.
He’s not long posted about buying a $1.4m house. I think he’s doing alright.

Not to judge the customer but maybe the customer attempted to repair which he ripped the pads off but blames to other shop🤥 just maybe✌️✌️
Nice, clean job !
Hi guys, unrelated to the video but I am trying to identify a component on a circuit board. It is a short black cylinder component with a small hole and a plus sign on the top. The board code is "BZ1" but that doesn't seem to show up in any code lists. Anyone know what BZ stands for?
Edit: Ahhh nvm think I figured it out. Surface mounted Piezo Buzzer. BZ = Buzzer
Is there a reason you don't bend the patch wire, and put it into the via? I know I've done that with other boards..... or is the PS5 via just too small? Also, what temp do you resolder the HDMI connector at? I change them all the time in my shop, but my flux always looks burnt after... yours still looks very clear. THanks.

Rule one of Playstation disassembly: Do not rip off a connector before you've even started. Must have been their first day on the job. Sucks for the customer who cannot know the experience of a random shop :-(
Quuuuuuuality work, man.

Some folks don't realize, that, after doing this day in and day out, you can see it in your sleep. A heap of it becomes muscle memory, and that is what makes your talent look effortless. Continue to show what can be done, ALEX! You Rock!
Changed an HDMI port on the PS5 today and man, the stupid capacitor in front of it is so annoying, I lost it in the repair but it still works without it, is it needed? :(
Sounds like a smoothing capacitor for some reason if I had to guess, take my suggestion with salt
These Caps are so called decoupling capacitors and are responsible for filtering the DC voltage inputs. Because this capacitor you lost is most likely very small (pf to nf), the performance of your console will not be affected. This gets more dangerous when you lose caps around sensitive ICs, because even small volatgepeaks could destroy it.
@@lukaswalczak93 that was the ONLY one I lost, I tried to remove it and then install the hdmi port but it somehow just flew away “into the 9th dimension” and was never seen again. I don’t have a replacement and this was my first PS5 repair but nonetheless it still works. Next time I’ll try to be more careful but that capacitor being there is so infuriating man, wish it was somewhere else. :(
I've taken apart close to 100 PS5s and I can't even begin to imagine how you would rip that connector off the board...... I'm just dumbfounded by that. Whoever did that has absolutely no business working on electronics.
in each video you make, you make my day!
Thank you Alex
See you soon!
Alex pliz clean the tip of soldering iron, contains a lot of carbon. THE ONE AND ONLY CHANNEL IAM SUBSCRIBED IS NORTHBRIDGE FIX. cool videos,
Mine is STILL not getting image..I checked the coils, zener diodes, all the capacitors around the HDMI encoder chip, I'm at s loss right now...all my pins are down and clean and not bridged.. Easy repair turning into a journey. I'll be happy to figure it out.. Not sure how to test the"power chip"15JL that apparently controls image,???
Even though this video was 2 years ago - at time index 12:12 you said a {Smaller Stip } What on earth is a smaller stip - LoL / Dont worry Alex I know what you meant / I sure got tickled when I heard that. kinda like {wixing up your mirds} huh / mixing up your words.
I don't know why a channel like this doesn't have millions of followers. While trivial and stupid channels have millions. This is not the time for geniuses, it is fools time.🤦🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
Love to "Better Than Factory" sent from Palestine 🇵🇸
i'm always happy for the devices that was fixed :)
Great t shirt opportunity!

Typical problem with consoles. The Xbox 360 completely shredded the containing CD when it tipped over. It seems they only use cheap parts and favor crappy design over durability.
Hello guys I have a issue with my PS5 and it's:
when I connect the power cable the console turn on and turn off automatic without touch any button it's my first issue it's that I want fix the turn on/off issue, it's take just seconds from blue light, white light and turning off light pattern. Did anyone get the same problem? And fix it. Its not power supply because the ps5 make turn on sound and light but nothing more also the fan don't turn on.
This is great knowledge for everyone and always inspiring knowing the person behind this is also a great person with great values.
My only concern is what if you move a connector like you did the fan connector and once you assemble it, it gets covered my some plastic or a metal shield and the position wasn't a lucky one.
And THIS is why people are so jumpy coming in for a repair and have trust issues. Because of those types of shops. Its like they learn on customer devices. Damaging a customer device like that is unbelievable. They should be embarrassed.
I love this with my coffee. Great job. BTW, did anyone else scream when they saw a busted Kingpin 3090? That is like a unicorn and it is clearly being mistreated at home.
Nothing better than watching a real professional doing great work.
im amazed you are able to keep up with daily videos. Thank you for these, they are very entertaining and educational!
I think you may have soldering the wire at the end in upside of hdmi pins its must more secured
How an earth a repair shop cannot repaire a HDMI port only. Even I with a very limited repair knowledge can fix this without a hassle. Strange but it wasn't something very big that could not be fixed
PS5.. Sony is a scam. Friend had problems game crashed strange colors so you get ONE free send in he did. Gets it back.. still the same now he has to pay $200+. Gets it back .. guess what it runs great what are the odds right.
A common mistake PS5 owner will do is to NOT install the stand that comes with the PS5. It can stand vertically without it but it's much more stable if you install the stand. That's probably what happened here.
Hello great video sir am from mauritius when I see your repairs I just buy a ps5 from mauritius when your video now I use my ps5 with precautions I think some people just conect and disconnect the ps5 so much time then the HDMI port damage thanks to let people see when buy expensive console should use it carefully
I have a special Question I cannot afford big expensive microscope like u 😇 so I want to ask is for repairing job
Is Digital Microscope that has 4.3 inch LCD on it is it also good....
Excellent job 🤝🤝🤝🤝❤️❤️❤️❤️ every time and explanation oswam#indianleolion
Selamun aleyküm. I'm a turkish guy that live in Germany, and I love your chanel, really i do. I have a proposition for you, can you pleaaaaase make a shirt with the sentence " I was born better than factory and I'm super solid"
I made my own flux... Just took some pine sap, and dissolved it in some 99% isopropanol and then filtered out all the solid bits with a coffee filter... Not the best stuff but it's a hell of a lot better than using nothing, and it's FREE
Make me looking at my vertically standing PS5 on the corner of my TV stand being like.....monkaW
The amount of GPUs that need to be repaired ALONE is ridiculous. No wonder why there's a vid saying you're hiring 😂
I think the customer was not using the included base for the ps5 .
Yeah I've seen a lot of people not using the base which makes the bottom of the console very unstable, especially the digital edition which is thinner at the bottom.
Hmmm.. the PS5 seems trash in quality. There's a lot of hardware issues popping recently.
I'm a big fan of yours me i asked you for help about lenovo ideapad 110 14ibr , auto shutdown issue, what could be a common issue is it, virus, OS, or motherboard issue please response
I think Northridge fix has the best content I have ever seen cause you do repair so many things which is absolutely incredible much love from sendom computer's (Nigeria)
