- Tom Rinaldi joins Colin Cowherd to discuss FOX's first in-house documentary, "All Madden," which airs on Christmas Day. Rinaldi shares the process of how the project came to life, along with some little-known facts about Hall of Fame coach and broadcaster John Madden. Rinaldi also shares whether Madden would be an effective coach in today's NFL, his mentor and the decision to step away from coaching. He also discusses Madden's impact on current and former players, broadcasters and coaches, including Nick Saban.

I was thinking the EXACT same thing! Colin's takes can be interesting at times, but 2 things to note:
1. When he is wrong, he is savvy enough to realize that people would tune in to hear him say it...ie. When Colin's Was Right, When Colin's Was Wrong...yet another great business move to keep people tuned into his show.
2. His intellectual curiosity is top notch. That makes him one of the best interviewers in sports...up there with Dan Patrick...unassuming but always curious.
Then you add one of most transcendent storytellers of our time like Tom Rinaldi?? Magic!!
Yet again...2 more horrible personnel decisions by ESPN flourishing on another network.
John Madden is a living legend. He’s got lines that people will never forget; and every broadcaster today just wants 1.
Truly an honor to grow up with John Madden calling games.

Brilliant storytelling. Sports broadcasting in its finest form. I hadn't been a fan of Rinaldi over the years, but in this segment, he was outstanding. Much respect to both.
This is the best segment I have watched in a long time. I was captivated by hearing Tom tell stories of sports icons and Colin surrendering to the moment. I was glued to my screen every second and did not want it to end. Thank you FS1, Colin, Joy, and Tom for the incredible interview.
When alone, Colin can sometimes be a little arrogant and cliché… but as an interviewer, he is down right excellent and this interview in particular is exemplary of that. Amazing content and great job on both sides 👏🏼

Colin cowherd and joy randomly popped up on my Facebook when I was using Facebook about a year and half ago and I been listening to this show ever since.
Joy complements him so well. She is smart and has unique additions to Colin's show.
Tom Rinaldi is unequivocally one of the national treasures of media. Unmatched storyteller who can provoke emotions in you at a moment's notice, he has a perfect documentary voice. Keep up the great work, Tom.

31 years old and John Madden was the broadcaster of my very first football game I ever watched and from that day on, I have solidified John Madden to be the essence of the game of Football forever! He made me fall in love with beauty of the game.

Jack winning the Masters in 1986 trumped Tiger's win for me.
I have a lot of respect for Tom. He asks the questions that we all want answers to, but somehow without force and indignant manner others do. But when he talks "Tiger" now, he becomes just another interviewer...
I live close to where Tiger had his crash. I know the road like the back of my hand. It was a clear sunny morning. That road is safe at 65 when you pay attention, but unsafe at 25 when you don't. Tiger was driving over 80 where the limit is 45. HE COULD HAVE KILLED SOMEONE!

The documentary is one of the classics
So they end the broadcast with players who never played for him. Virtually the entire roster of his 70s Raiders are in the hall and yet they hardly spoke to any. I love matt millen but he never played for John. They should of ended it with a Raider. No disrespect to LT.
